If the AICPA keeps with their historical cutoff, it's Thursday, May 7
Do you know what's going on with cpanet the forum?? It's been down for two days and the only place I can think of is here to ask about it.

Yep. It sucks.
From Chicago.
yeah! I got a 74 on my first FAR attempt! =(
this site is called another71, so that should clear it up for ya.
YIPES!
I never sat for a CPA section so early, but I was wondering if this was normal.
I sat for AUD on 4/7/09 and on the state board (CA) site, it still says: "AUD: Schedule/Attendance Pending."
Can anyone from CA answer my question?
Usually when I take it in the latter of the testing window, it will say AUD: Score Pending - Attended xx/xx/xxxx xx:xx:xx"
Thanks in advance!
I'm in the same boat as you. Took BEC in CA on 4/6/09 but my status still says BEC: Schedule w/Prometric. My previous experience is that it will change to Attended: xx/xx/2009 Score Pending w/in a week. So yesterday I wrote to the board and got a reply in an hr. Here's their reply, hope this helps!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In response to your email, this is normal.
There is often a delay from the time a candidate sits for the exam, and the time that sitting is visible in the client account. Approximately 10% of the time, the client account will go from Schedule with Prometric, or a similar message, to the actual exam score.
We are aware of the issue. It has absolutely no effect on when a score will be released.
Please keep in mind that you only have limited access to one of a number of computer systems involved in this process. It is easy to view that limited amount of information out of context.
Sincerely,
Stephen Cooley
Anyways, I'm from LA area.... BEC is my last one altho it's my 2nd attempt. Good Luck in AUD and hope we both get result in 1st wave! (I waited 1.5 month for REG last window!)
I got 80 on REG which I was really, really shocked! I messed up on sims but suprisingly well on MCs. I've always worked in healthcare acctg, so I have no public acctg experience at all. But so far it's stable. My SIL got layoff recently from EY. But luckily they waited til she finished all her hrs so she can apply for her license now.
Nice! I usually go to the testing center at Lake Forrest. It's far, but I've always passed when I went there. Call me superstitious! LOL! I got an 84 on REG! I'm looking for work. It's tough right now. I actually graduated with my BS in Accounting in May 2007. I took a break from school, did some studying for the CPA, and kind of got sidetracked on the way. My cousin from Tucson, AZ was diagnosed with a really rare and aggressive cancer in late May 2008. I pretty much put my life and career on hold and moved to AZ for a short while. I came back in October 2008 and started getting into study mode again. I'd visit once a month. In January 2009, she passed away. It was a hard time for me at the moment and I eventually got back into study mode. I'm just waiting on AUD results now. Sorry for rambling! I was wondering, do you know anywhere hiring at the moment? Thanks for listening, DT! (=
CPA Exam Candidates: Free On-line Access to Professional Literature Package
CPA exam candidates can get a free six-month subscription to professional literature used in the computerized CPA Examination. This online package includes AICPA Professional Standards and FASB Original Pronouncements. Only candidates who have applied to take the CPA exam, and have been deemed eligible by state boards of accountancy, will receive access to this package of professional literature. This online package of literature will familiarize CPA Exam candidates with the use of online accounting resources. However, the interface used by the online package is not exactly the same as that used in the operational CPA Examination. Candidates are strongly encouraged to also review the CPA Exam tutorial and sample tests found on this web site. The sample tests reflect the functionality and interfaces used in the actual examination.
Good Luck to All!!!
That's my site! It's just a project I started during my free time. Jeff loves all of us. We're bringing traffic to his site and helping CPA/CPA candidates connect! Yeah, it's tough with my cousin's situation, but it just makes me appreciate life even more now-a-days. Life is beautiful, precious, and exciting! Yet, it also has it ups and downs. We should value and enjoy every moment of it. I also blog about motivational and inspirational ramble on my free time if you want to check it out at http://taney.wordpress.com/. I haven't had time to update it lately, but I really want to start blogging again soon.
fyi...you're welcome to leave a link in the comments or stick your website in with your name, but just know that it will throw the comment into moderation and I'll have to manually approve it when I get a chance. I've had a surprising amount of spam (around 1,300 spam comments) since I switched to wordpress.
people write stuff like:
"excellent name 4 a blog! :))))))) www.excojmsds.com/rjeijsdkfdfg excellent rate on pharmaceuticals! try and see!!!"
Jeff
yeah, as a webmaster, I understand and I'm not trying to spam your site in any way. I would stop posting links at your request as well. Wordpress is cool, but gets spammed a lot because it's a great SEO platform ;)
back to crying and the books
Anonymous @ 311p : I agreed that REG should have more time than AUD! For AUD I had time to go back to each testlet and ea sim, took a pee break AND had 1/2 hr left over! What da heck?!
Izabella: Move on to AUD! it will be a breeze compare to FARE! You prob did GREAT! :)
The estimated release date is May 22 for FAR, but I'm taking BEC on May 28. With that being said, I won't check my score until I'm finished with BEC otherwise my confidence may take a hit..
The misery this exam brings upon us!
REG Score: 84 - Attended: 02/25/2009 12:54:00
same! thanks for the update! (=
Jeff you are awesome and your site has been helpful throughout this rigorous "waiting game."
yup, but with CPA, you want to take it when it's fresh in your mind. I took all my tests late except for this one late in the window as well and I took AUD on 04/07/09 and its my last one. I completely understand where you come from. I was so ready to take it early that I didn't want to wait in case of memory loss, so now i'm suffering and waiting now, but you're not alone!
I was wondering if anyone could tell me whether all tests taken in a window are released by the second wave? So for example, if I take a part in late May am I guarenteed to find out in the second wave (June) or is there a possibilty I still might not find out til July?
Thanks!
If you take it in the April-May window, you'll get your results before the July-August window. So yes, you will get a score by July.
Advice: Start to freak out more. The more you freak out, the better. You'll lose sleep, hair, & probably a few days off your life.
Allow yourself to totally lose it. You will be consumed by the exam experience...completely comsumed.
Of course, don't stop studying. Study while at work. Study while you eat. Study while you're in the shower. Study while you walk the dog.
Then you will sit down in front of the cheap HP computer terminal at the testing center. You will start clicking on the cheap little mouse. And then you will think to yourself, "Gee, this isn't so bad. I shouldn't have freaked out so much!"
And then, in the quickest 4 hours of your life, it will be over.
You'll see.
No offense, but that is the worst advice I have ever heard one person give to another person about this exam. Seriously, I hope that was an attempt at dry humor.
PJ, it's really not that bad. This exam is different for everyone and what may cause one person to struggle may be a breeze for you. Just study as much as you think you need (that is, if you think you need to review something, don't talk yourself out of reviewing, just sit down and do it), and come test time, if you are prepared, you will have the same reaction that Joey specified and will still keep those few days you would lose under the above poster's plan.
Stress to the point of burnout is one of the worst ways to approach this exam or anything major in life. If you stress yourself out, you won't be able to think straight then you will fail.
I'll tell you my little story. I took BEC in October and REG in November. I just knew I failed BEC and was annoyed with all the time I put in, so I was pretty half hearted studying for REG. The BEC scores came in 5 days before I sat for REG, so I checked to see how bad I did & I got a 78! That gave me the push I needed to heavily review REG.
For PJ: You shouldn't freak out, don't be afraid of the exam. I have taken FAR twice and the first time I went in fearing this exam and expecting defeat, and that's just what happened. You have to keep a positive attitude, but don't be over confident. FAR is a tough exam with a lot of material is less time, but it can be passed. And remember, even if you do fail, you can take it again. Just keep on studying and get some rest and pray like hell that the people you test with are idiots and there's a massive curve ;)
Good Luck!
Come the test and my response was "this is doable." My true opinion is not that the test is hard. It's not!!! The test is definitely doable .. the two things that get me crazy is 1) fininding the TIME to study and 2) retaining all the information that I just studied.
Otherwise, the test could be much trickier than it is.. Much harder, and def ask more detailed question.
All I can say is, Anyone can do this... Do not give up.. Definitely study.. If you dont have time to study, then find it... That is all i have to say.> Ok back to studying on my lunch break.
But most of us do it....Look, a lot of time, effort, $$$ has been spent and a lot is at stake. Of course we're going to be nervous & possibly psyche ourselves out! Go ahead and FREAK OUT!
However: keep your compass pointing North. My point earlier was that after all the drama, after all mind-bending expectations, it is just a test.
And it really is not that bad. Once you are sitting in that testing center doing your thing, you will realize that the exam is not that bad...especially after all of the incredible build-up going into it.
Trust me. I am veteran at these damn tests. And I have done a lot (a LOT) of freaking out over the past couple years.
So go ahead & freak out. The more you do probably means you're serious about completing your mission of passing & getting licensed. And one day, hopefully soon, I will get there.
And you will too.
My sis had passed all her four parts, and all her test results came out in about one month after she took the exams.
its been 38 days since i took the exam. does that mean my score is between 73-76? thats why it took so long to release my score?
anyone??
thanks
Example using last window: she sat for her exams in the last week of February and got her scores between March 15 - March 25 or so.
You sat for your exam in early April...scores don't come out until mid-May or mid-June depending on if your score was made available in Wave one.
Don't read into it at all...it's just how this process goes.
G/L
-Jeff
I took REG for the second time 1st week of May. But this time I came prepared. I used two materials, Wiley and BISK. The first MCQs and SIMS I took using these materials, i scored around 82%. The second time I retook the sample tests(2 days before my actual REG) test, I got 92 in almost all topics. The secret-knowing my mistakes in the tests is not enough. i had to know why I arrived at a wrong answer to minimize the likelihood of making the same mistake next time around. I am very optimistic I did well in the actual test. I finished the 3 MCQs within 1 hr and 12 minutes. I finished my 2 SIMS feeling good. If I don't pass REG this time around, then something's wrong with my head.
I'll post an update after I receive my score.
Good luck to all of us.
Keep us updated. And once again Congratulations!!!!
It's nice that you're able to express your opinion on here, but I don't think there's reason to cause any feud on here. If there's any problem, you should e-mail Jeff about it and he can moderate the comments.
I don't know what kind of "BS" you're referring to. Your last post can be portrayed by some people as "BS". We are all here to help each other on a common mission: to pass the CPA Exam!
I wish you the best of luck on your route to CPA success!
Are you as evil as NASBA for withholding valuable information?
http://www.another71.com/2009/05/nasba-updates-...
AICPA Thursday release = NASBA Sunday evening (11pm-ish)
AICPA Friday release = NASBA Monday evening (11pm-ish)
I am pretty pissed about that first SIM and I will be really devestated if I fail because of it.
Did anyone else encounter such nastiness when they took REG within the past month or so?
Is the AICPA release date a day sooner than the IL release date?
If not, that actually seems like it would be longer, not sooner.
Example: Last window, the AUD results were posted by IL on Friday. NASBA posted the grades on Monday morning.
The new formula is AICPA + 1 day (11pm-ish), except for Thurs/Friday AICPA release.
ex: Illinois gets their score on Wednesday...NASBA Thursday night.
Illinois gets their score on Thursday...NASBA Sunday night
Illinois gets their score Friday...NASBA Monday night.
Hope this helps..
Old Way:
IL scores released Thursday-NASBA Friday morning
New Way:
IL Scores released Thursday-NASBA Sunday night?????
Old Way:
IL scores released Friday-NASBA Monday morning
New Way:
IL scores released Friday-Nasba Monday night??????
I took REG on May 7 at 11:30 AM. Barring it does not fall into the 25% that is reported in the second wave anyway, do I stand a good chance of receiving my score in the first wave. Meaning did I make the cut for the first wave.
Thanks
IL Thursday = NASBA Monday
IL Friday = NASBA Tuesday
AICPA Thurs = NASBA Sunday
AICPA Fri = NASBA Monday
...is still a good rule of thumb.
Thanks again for reading,
Jeff
PS...I am in corporate accounting and auditing is a big blur to me!!!
If you look at JAN/FEB 09 Wave 1 -- AUD was release by Illinois Thursday the 19th, and was Released by NASBA Friday Early AM.
You are saying that now instead of Friday Morning it will be Friday night? I think instead it would be late Thursday PM.
Previously, they would both receive scores on a day, Illinois system would update real-time, but NASBA had to run a batch update early in the AM. With the new way, aren't they changing it so it runs 6 hours earlier? So it would be late Thursday PM?
Just how I am understanding the new system.
old way: CA + 2 days
new way: CA + 1 day...and then come out around 11pm
CA doesn't post online updates to the public like IL does, but CA candidates will let us know when scores come out for sure.
* May 14 - BEC
* May 15 - AUD
* May 18 - REG
* May 19 - FAR
If NASBA releases BEC tomorrow night, I won't be shocked...that's all I'm saying...don't hate me for saying that though if it doesn't happen...if I were a betting man, I'd say it's 40/60 Thursday/Friday pm.
(I hope this is helpful...I'll keep what I'm thinking to myself if it causes anxiety or frustration if it doesn't happen :) )
http://www.another71.com/2009/05/nasba-updates-...
Delaware releases through NASBA...and you spelled your own state wrong. :)
Any more jokesters will lose their posting rights until score releases are over...it's not fair to people waiting for scores... :(
What chances do I have to pass FAR?
Regards,
Does scoring high really matters in CPA or just passing score is enough..I scored 77 in both far and bec..My husband is very eager to know about it..Can anyone help me out with this.
Any words of advice for REG? It's really intimidating me...
1. You passed OR
2. You passed and received the Elijah Watts Sells award. I had an instructor in my accounting class that scored one of the highest scores on the exam in early 2000's. She was featured in the Washington Post, yada, yada, yada, and after only a few years, made partner at her firm. Of course, she was wicked smart and incredibly driven, which may be the bigger deciding factor in her success.
My husband gets hung up on the score too, but that's because he's in a world where 75=C, not 75=cause for serious celebration.
what does your husband do? If he has nothing to do with accounting, he will never understand.
Thx everyone and another71 for the site.
Look at it this way: 50-55% of people get an "F" each window.
I know this is a little irrelevant right now since Wave 1 scores are in full swing, but I'm wondering if there are any prelimineray rough release date projections for Wave 2?
Thanks!
Waiting in MASSACHUSETTS here....
It will probably be similar to Jan/Feb Wave 2...I'll publish a post in about 2 weeks or so...
http://www.another71.com/2009/02/cpa-exam-score...
BEC scores will likely be out tomorrow via NASBA...*some* chance it could happen tonight. We'll see when the AICPA releases AUD...everything hinges on that.
I wasnt sure if they clarified whether scores are posted at all on the weekend (either saturday morning or not)
THanks!!! anxious.........cross the fingers and toes
That's my current understanding of the process, anyway.
I have a question....
On Kentucky's website when I log in to look at the BEC scores that posted today, it says "The latest exam section scores available in this application are 4/24/2009". Do you think that this means that the cutoff for Wave 1 is 4/24/09? I am waiting on FAR. I sat on 4/27....I was really hoping to be in the Wave 1 release.
Thanks!
Unfortunately I am not one of those people where I pick up things intuitively. I studied and studied and studied both times. I think that I will really be crushed if I failed. Anyone have an answer to my question on the best place to check scores? The only place I know of is the Texas State Board Site. Does NASBA have Texas scores too?
1st Wave
That would suck if the cutoff was April 24th for the 1st wave of scoring. Is that really the case? I took BEC on May 6th to in hopes of getting a score in the first wave.
Has anybody received a score that took the exam later than April 24th?
Thanks, and again congrats!
When do you think AUD will be released for TX?
I am in NC and we cannot view scores online either. Last time I got results in mail the following day after release. Good luck.
You knew when NASBA received BEC from the AICPA. Will you know when they receive REG, and will you update us?
Still waiting for BEC score.
So much for sleeping tonight.
It looks like the score will be released just in few days.
Kinda nervous...
I am dieing for my AUD score!!!!!!!!!!
I'm chilling out waiting for my BEC score by watching REG videos - test is next Thursday.
With the schedule moved up at least you'll know for sure about REG when you walk into BEC. I hate uncertainty. I'd rather know, whether or not the news is good.
So here's to good news....
BEC is too much Info. bla bla bla ....(which I wonder if we able to use/apply it in the real world) Now, I know what some of you guys were saying ...
I know I have been checking the NASBA website like 2-3 times a day like a fool since say.. the day after the exam ..
But if Jeff said so then..
Thanks Jeff - Great site!
Good luck to all. I hope we get the scores we want so we can party tonight!
Do you know when we'll be getting scores in GA? Waiting for FAR score.
Where did you read that AUD could be released tonight?? That would be awesome!
12:30 am EDT
11:30 pm CDT
10:30 pm MDT
9:30 pm PDT
If they come out and I pass I'll be too pysched to sleep. But if they come out and I fail, I'll be too pissed to sleep.
I am a new CPA exam taker. I took BEC for the first time 2/23 and the second time on 4/09. I graduated 5th in my class with a 3.86. This exam has made me feel so dumb. How do people with families and stressful full time jobs handle this!
I am eagerly waiting for the Texas results. Any one still up and suffering too?
(347) 324-3652
The show starts at 12:30 EST (in 11 minutes) ... call with questions/comments/whateva
After what I've been through in my life, waiting for this is a breeze.
I'm your "family person with stressful job" person. And I'm 50 years old and taking these exams for the first time. Passed 2, hopefully 3 tonight, on the first try.
I'm also waiting for my BEC scores. Took it April 3rd. I wish the Texas board would get on the ball!
GRRR... kids. My 20-yr-old was downloading something massive and tying up all the network bandwidth. Just shut her down.
How do you do this and work a day job, too?
BTW, it's after 1AM in Louisiana and still no scores here. I wonder if the locals have gone home for the night.
No Scores as of 7:15
FL, LA, NY, NJ
Scores as of 7:15
CO, CA, TX
You are not alone. I am almost 39 years old and the mother of five-18,14,13,11,8, I felt "unfinished", so I started college in 2004. Next thing you know, I graduated in 2008 and went from working part-time nights to full-time days. I thought it would be more
"fulfilling." I don't know what I was thinking. Now I get to add the stress of studying for this test onto a crazy schedule and a full-time job. Honestly, I should have just left well enought alone. Nobody had any expectations of me when I was the uneducated, stay-at-home mom of five children. Now, I can't go back. Here's hoping we all pass the sections we are waiting for so we can be that much closer to being done!!!
In VA waiting on AUD and sitting for REG in 2 weeks, already got through FAR and BEC.
I gave BEC on 9th April 2009... I cant view my score .. Is the BEC score out for CO board
You are stupid. I woke up at 6am for my score.
Thanks for nothing loser.
Any idea when Aud will be released in TX?
If you don't like the site, then dont come here. There are so many people who do and appreciate so much what Jeff does.
Thanks for nothing loser."
You woke up at 6am for your score? That's sleeping in on score release day!
I know it's frustrating, but at least they're trying to align score releases as close to CA/IL as possible...got to give them credit for that. Try to cut them some slack while they work out the kinks.
Please verify Section ID Number and Date of Birth format and re-submit.
Did you get any sleep?
Prepping the exams is bad enough. I couldn't imagine running a high-demand website like this one and working a day job at the same time. You're awesome.
Still no BEC score posted for Louisiana.
"NASBA loaded them last night, but it didn’t “go”…NASBA IT people are working on it…got an e-mail this morning.
I know it’s frustrating, but at least they’re trying to align score releases as close to CA/IL as possible…got to give them credit for that. Try to cut them some slack while they work out the kinks."
Did they say any idea of if that means they might have scores out today (a mid-day release)? Or will they try again tonight, or anything else about a release time?
He obviously does that with the "discounts" he gives you guys for Yaegar. See above in the top right. Yes, you are getting a small discount, but by inputing discount code, its another way to determine how many referals he brings in for them and he gets a cut of every referal. So please don't feel sorry.
-Jeff
D
**if I had to guess - I would say YES, but that's just me thinking that since it released Wednesday...2 days later for the next one seems about right.**
Do you think BEC scores will be released sometime today for NASBA states or do we have to wait until 11:30 CST to check the website again?
Erroneous.
This site is a waste of time. I could build a website and make bogus claims about when test results are going to come out but i actually have a job which requires doing work and not picking numbers out of a hat and hoping they prove to be true. Though I commend your efforts, I have been sorely disappointed in your ability to follow through on your predictions. I liken you to the guy who works at traveling carnivals and guesses peoples weight before they step on the scale...purely nothing more than a sideshow.
Best of luck in all your future predictions.
What is with all of the Jeff bashing? If you check the posts on this thread and those of previous waves and you will see he often is correct. Now, when I say correct, I mean he is reasonably close. He may not have hit it on the exact day but, he gave you a frame of reference. Without his predictions, I'd probably be submitting from the time I finish the exam until the scores get released (whenever that may be). So, how about a little appreciation for the perspective he does give you. Think of where you would be otherwise.
As for the donations / ad revenue... of course he needs to make some money. The guy is done with the CPA exam and has to pay for this website to keep it running. I say it is only fair that he receive some income (he probably is lucky to break even) for the work he puts into this.
If you want to be mad at anyone, be mad at the AICPA for running the most ridiculously complex and confounding certification program out there.
btw, thanks Jeff for all that you do! I am so glad I found this website! It has def. helped me keep my sanity!
Let's keep it cool.
One day...maybe one day, we'll ALL be professional CPAs. In the meantime, I'm awaiting a FAR score.
Good Luck to the rest of you over the weekend!
Best of luck in all your future predictions."
I'll put you down as a "maybe" for a donation.
Haha, thats great. You're awesome Jeff!!!
Those people that have nothing good to say about you are just pissed that they didnt think of this first. they probably havent even passed the exam anyways...just bitter towards you because it seems like you have a good life!!
This is starting to sound like it may take a while after all.
When you're still troubleshooting a problem, it's impossible to say how long the fix will take. And even when the primary failure is fixed, you may still have to re-load the software and databases, and THEN you have to do data integrity verification before bringing the system back on line.
Things were a lot more peaceful when scores came in the mail, and the mail truck only came once a day.
That said, I'll just stick my nose back into my REG book and wait for an update. Hopefully Jeff's NASBA contact will e-mail him when they have a new projected score posting time.
He also has to pay his snitches at NASBA. :)
Keep up the good work and don't let the haters get you down. I don't personally know Jeff, but I do know he is working his butt off to help others even after he passed the exam. How many of you out there think you will be this dedicated to helping others after you are finished with this grueling exam??? Just a little shout out from a fellow Topeka native. :)
Any chance of you publishing your Reg notes you compiled when you got your brillant 92, my brain is taxed out looking at all these exceptions.
D
Hey Jeff - You're AWESOME! Your efforts are greatly appreciated!
Mr. Angry CPA - go be angry somewhere else.
And why in the heck has AICPA not released the 2nd section yet ? They always fart around with this thing....never fails !! So they released BEC early; that is not good enough; BEC is easy to grade.
And that reminds me, I'm glad the AICPA Rep. gave Jeff answers to many questions, but that the guy gave some cocky answers that kind of ticked me off. For instance, he said, "there is no curve and each score is independent of other candidates." That is complete horse puckey, and he knows it is. Pschometrics is a form of a curve. It has everything in the world to do with the performance of the group.
I can do that...they're hand-written right now and I gave them to a friend who took REG this window.
When I get them back, I can type them out. My notes are from the tax portion...for law/ethics, I just used the Yaeger handout (didn't even use the Wiley book for that part).
Hopefully you aren't sitting for REG soon ...
By the way, nothing in NY yet. I'm waiting for Aud and Bec.
Any news about BEC coming out this afternoon?
Great site keep up the terrific work.
NASBA likes this site and has gone out of their way to keep me informed via e-mail so if something happens, I bet they'll e-mail me and I'll pass it on asap...
May 27TH. Is that too soon???? Can you set yourself as a charity so my donation will be tax deductible??
D
I got my passing BEC score this morning. (3 for 3 in 3 months!)
Jeff, is your prediction of Audit being 2nd based on history, or do you get an inkling from a source ?
Thanks.
D
I'm wondering the exact same thing as you!
I'm glad i'm not the only one tryin' to get my AUD score in CA.
Exams are scored and released at the same time during each testing window.
All candidates should be advised that the 1st wave of score release will occur at the end of the 2nd month of the current testing window (May). Those scores should be available on-line or by mail no later than the 1st week of the dead month (June).
The second wave of scores will occur around the end of the dead month (June). Those scores should be available on-line or by mail no later than the 15th day of the new testing window (July).
NASBA is unable to determine in which wave an individual candidate's score will be released by the AICPA. Also note that taking the exam early in the window does not guarantee that a candidate's score will be released in the 1st wave.
Candidates cannot request a second copy of scores for the current window until the 1st day of the new testing window (July).
Exam scores are only available by U.S. Mail.
Jeff, this community is great! thanks for all you're doing.. :)
you should use OpenID with Gravatar. It seems like it would work better for bloggers.
Congrats! Did you get your AUD score for this window or is this from another window?
Thanks!
I'm from CA and I passed FAR, REG, and BEC
I have not received anything in the mail, so you shouldn't worry. I think you get something when you pass all 4! ;)
Sorry forgot to mention... from another window.
I have not received anything in the mail, so you shouldn’t worry. I think you get something when you pass all 4!
Thanks for the comfort!
Are you working it out with a pencil like any good accountant would? :)
So, what's your prediction on AUD release date for the NASBA states at this point?
Thanks as always.
You lack of attention to detail is dispicable. You have everyone waiting on your site for hours for updates (because your original predictions were WAY OFF!!!!) Answer to the people. When will BEC scores actually be released?
anyway with that said.. Jeff thank you for all that you do ... we need to be so grateful to your wife and kids... for you to be able to juggle your kids, job and things at home and then this site, all I can say is that we need to praise you endlessly.
I speak for 99% of us when I say THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!!!
So is your spelling my friend.
WOW people like you upset me. GET OFF THE SITE AND GET THE INFO YOURSELF!!!
what you said represents more like 99.9% of us...
JEFF DOESNT WORK FOR THE AICPA!!!!! He is only making an educated guess!!!!!
Am waiting for my REG grade back. I took it 4/7/09 and it's my last one. I am DYING! If I need to study already then just bring it on. Put me out of my misery.
Thank you Jeff!!!!
Do you think that all the release score dates will be postponed by a day?
GIVE ME MY SCORE! IT JUST ISN'T FAIR ANYMORE! YOU WIN, I AM BROKEN.
Ok, got that off of my chest. I'll be refreshing quietly while curled up in the fetal position.
Instead they told us to add a few days to the expected completion date. The 85% of customers whose products were ready on the real completion date would be thrilled to get "early" delivery, and the rest would also be happy with "on time" delivery.
Last night I kind of felt like the customer who got his product "late", when the updated BEC score release forecast was thwarted by IT problems. But all that really happened was the folks who get scores through NASBA appear to be back to the original projected score release dates.
Doesn't change my score either way. I passed or I didn't; I can't go back and change that now.
Does that mean that IL,CA,VA, etc. will get their AUD results later today? possibly?
Does that mean I failed BEC?
No, it does not mean you failed BEC! It takes time to process depending on what state you're in and also not all of the test results get processed for Wave 1. Just waiting patiently. Atleast give it a few days.
I'm confused.
CA/IL will probably release AUD sometime today (just a guess...send hate mail if I'm wrong...haha)...NASBA will release BEC if they get their system fixed tonight...probably release AUD over the weekend or Monday...dunno.
Has anyone every gotten their score on a Saturday Morning?
1. AICPA releases to everyone
2. CA/IL etc usually release pretty quickly
3. NASBA has to wait a day or so to do something with the states
4. NASBA uploads scores
5. NASBA releases
Currently, BEC is in step 4 for NASBA. AUD is in step 3 for NASBA.
I hope I didn't just create confusion...
any insights?
thanks
Ill make a donation next week when I get paid.
people have received BEC, but nobody has received AUD yet.
Releasing scores on staurdy morning is no longer a legend, it's reality.
Call in if you have questions...you can "chat" also.
And I believe--correct me if I am wrong--that there is only one among us.
I'm Big 4 as well up in SVO. Taking PTO to study for REG, lol.
How do you like working so far? Audit/Tax/Advisory? How long have you been working?
I'm in Audit.. now for about 2 years.
But he's going to be retiring soon, so I'll be in the market as soon as I pass these exams.
I'd like to get into Fraud Investigation and Forensic Accounting, so if you have any suggestions how to do that I'll welcome them. I anticipate I'll have to leave Louisiana and move to a city with a major airport hub, at least.
BEC 80
AUD 87
REG 75
Waiting for FAR grade next week.
Jeff, I love this site. I love everybody!!!!!
Thanks all!
Thank you, God. Now I can get back to REG prep.
Jeff, your website just slowed down to a near-standstill.
I waiting for my REG and AUD scores while studying for BEC
My bad, forgot to mention that. BEC scores are out.
66, 74, 74, 77!!! Yes!!!
I'm tempted, but I don't plan to re-take for a better score. Too risky. I might fail on the second try.
For me: On to REG - FOCUS FOCUS FOCUS and get a 92+ on that!
Good luck to you on BEC. Here's hoping your other scores are good as well.
time for that stogie and a brew"
I'll split it with you. You can have the stogie.
Care for an ice cold glass of Guiness Stout with a thick, frothy head?
Thanks for the update! Still no BEC score here, anxiously awaiting and trying to study for AUD. Clicking refresh every 5 minutes insn't helping the cause.
I am under the impression that California uses a real time system, so if the AICPA sent the scores this afternoon, what in the heck is the CA Board doing?
http://www.blogtalkradio.com/cpaexaminsider/200...
http://www.another71.com/2009/05/cpa-exam-insid...
I have a feeling something is wrong with me in their system. My first test score (audit) wasn't put up online because they just changed their laws to reflect being able to receive scores before completing 150 hours. So I got the last one by paper, I'm wondering if this has something to do with it. Although I thought all that was cleared up and good to go.
Good night everyone
FAR - 85 (Nov 08), AUD - 98 (Feb 09), BEC - 88 (Apr 09). All first time. REG next week, score in Wave 2.
I'm using the whole kit-and-kaboodle Becker package - CD-ROM course, Flashcards, and Final Review (cram) product.
The local university instructors recommended Becker as the best "but it will be expensive," or Gleim as the next-best for folks on a budget. So those are the only two I took a serious look at. They even had an arrangement with Gleim for former students to get a discounted price. (No such luck with Becker.)
Why don't you pick another number from your hat? the last ones did not work out.
Why don’t you pick another number from your hat? the last ones did not work out."
(as stated above in the post...)
Revised NASBA release prediction:
# May 17 - BEC
# May 19 - AUD
# May 20 - REG
# May 21 - FAR
update: AICPA released BEC earlier than expected…here’s some bold prediction updates (reckless and not for the faint of heart…)
* May 14 - BEC
* May 15 - AUD
* May 18 - REG
* May 19 - FAR
I said that the latter predictions were bold and reckless...they were "glass 7/8 full" scenarios that I tossed out there for fun AND...I labeled them as such.
The original (updated) predictions are still in play.
I'll consider your hat suggestion for Wave 2.
Thanks Jeff for the reasonably accurate date! I refreshed the CA state screen until 3 and woke up at 6. Poof! the score was there! Now I can go back to sleep!
How long after they post them online do you receive them via postal mail?
And to everyone who fell short, but is determined to try once more...
I really admire your tenacious effort. I know how dismal it is, and how little support I have had, after multiple failures. And I know how difficult, but yet how necessary, it is to get up and keep going, acting as if the failures were successes and as if the vultures circling over me were actually eagles lifting me up.
You folks are truly the bold and brave, with inner fire and spirit to be admired. You will make it wherever you go in life. I only wish there were more people like you.
That's because the AICPA waits until they have a statistically sufficient quantity of test-takers with the new sim before they finalize the grades on it.
"And to everyone who fell short, but is determined to try once more…"
Thanks for keeping a positive outlook! I've been following Jeff's blog for its therapeutic and comic value since about November of last year when I started this adventure, and it seems like there are a lot more negative comment posters this window. I enjoy the supportive and comic posts a whole lot more.
Jeff,
Thanks for taking the chance and posting the "reckless" predictions. I didn't receive my AUD score (GA), but it made Friday at work a whole lot more interesting just following the comments here and hoping.
when did you take AUD and at what testing location?
Good luck to all! waiting for results on FAR taken last month!
I think I remember reading that they might release the scores gradually, accoring to Jeff? Also, if scores are between 73 - 77, they may take a bit longer? this is just knowledge obtained from reading posts ; )
Good luck to everyone waiting for their scores!
From earlier post "I’m in California. The Board told me scores are being released randomly and to keep checking online"....that was from a post yesterday
I am 95% sure I failed but reading this site gives me hope!
I think we should wait until Monday before we jump to conclusions.
Out of the three what is more likely for the FAR release? Tues, Wed, or Thurs?
I was 101% sure that I failed REG, heck....I didn't even finish the second Simulation. I made an 86, so there is still hope.
Do you have an idea why all the comments are posted on the same page, no more older comments. It is being slower to load.
Thanks for all your effort and support!
I agree. I know someone was complaining before that there were too many pages with few comments. But now there are too many comments on one page. A page should have some kind of limit, no?
This was an experiment...seeing how fast the page would load if I put it on one page. I can see that it's slow now...I'll mess around with the optimal comments per page and try to install a plugin that numbers the pages.
Really, the only thing I don't like is when people are rude to other posters and try to make them feel bad for sharing their scores. I can handle the trolls (really, it's just frustration at not getting scores)...it's people being rude to other posters for absolutely no reason that I don't like. You can be rude to me...I don't care :)
I'll try to tweak some things...thanks again for the tips - keep them coming if you think of something.
Jeff
Do you know what scores have been published so far in NASBA website for this window?
V
surprisingly found the score on nasba on 5/14/09
regd with the Colorado board
however i am still contemplatin whether it is the final score or not
what is it?
this whole score thing has been botherin me ever since i saw that score
more so cause i got a 67
i have aud this wed and reg on the 30th
just not bein able to focus!
someone please pull me outta the fix of whether this is the final score or no
also another qs
took the FAR test on the 5/14 so when do i expect to see the results?
appx.?
Unfortunately, if you see a 67 when you sign on, then that is your score. Why are you taking the four exams so close together? BEC on the 8th, FAR on the 14th, AUD on the 20th, REG on the 30th??? It sounds like you probably spread yourself too thin.
i FAILED!
wow... feels awful
actually im from india
so i had to select the dates so close...
fckkk this means i will have to stay back till july to re-appear in BEC
i jus don't understand the scoring system of cpa...
anyhow the fact is i failed...
oh so all the exams i take after the 05/07, results come out in mid-june!
great... thanks for the information....
any tips for the AUD & BEC tests...
please share here or mail me on kushaloswal@gmail.com
i'd appreciate it!
you'd be better off in july...
believe me knowin half the content perfectly is much better than knowing the complete content haphazardly.
take your time and reschedule.. provided you aint prepared
you should postpone if you don't think you will pass especially if your NTS runs through July 21st.
D
Great site and good luck to all
Would the NASBA states release the AUD scores tomorrow morning?
do not underestimate BEC
Sorry, it's typo. I passed BEC. I am waiting for REG, and planning take FAR in July.
that's good news...it means NASBA's batch re-scheduling worked..
Thanks for the info Jeff. Keep up the good work with the site.
any kind of tips or information regarding AUD
please share
would really appreciate it
im already super low & demotivated with my BEC score... =(
so please peeps...
You can do it. Don't be too hard on yourself. Lots of people don't even make the effort to study and take the exam.
Good luck with Audit.
i'm from india so i have a limited time to appear for these tests...
thanks for the wishes... haha
with cpa exams after your hard work all that matters is ppl's wishes and prayers!
The audios are good if you have time to listen to them while doing something other than driving. I listened to them at the gym, as well as while mindlessing formatting spreadsheets at work. They definitely re-inforce the concepts if you can listen to them 3-4 times all the way through. My friend has a 2 hour round trip commute and he listens to them in the car every day...it worked for him...I just am not one who can do that...I need blaring music.
100 posts per page is perfect for me.
NASBA posted BEC scores just after 8pm Central Time on Friday.
I had the NASBA website open and my info saved. I just kept flipping back to the page every 5 to 15 minutes all day long Thursday and Friday and hitting the Submit button. Everytime I did it the screen blanked for a second, and my heart skipped a beat. Then suddenly..... without warning..... I saw a score. A passing score. And the earth stopped turning on its axis. I just sat there and stared. Then I started making phone calls. Didn't get much studying done the rest of the evening.
But when I sat back down to study my final section I felt so relaxed, and was able to concentrate so much better. 4 more days now and I get my life back!
what is your best guess to see AUD score on NASBA site? I am sorry if you already gave the other.
thanks
Normally i receive my score by e-mail 1 day before it released by NASBA on the website. is it happen with any one else?
I received the BEC Score in thursday 11:30 AM NY time.
Still waiting the AUD score ;)
Worst case scenario is that you do not pass in which case you just schedule next window. You would only be out the application fees, but there still would be a good chance you will pass.
Just wondering if anyone else has received their AUD scores in ILLINOIS.
EST here, so does that mean "tonight" means by midnight or else not till tomorrow?
I'm concerned because Illinois hasnt posted an announcement about AUD scores being released yet...
I took BEC on May 8th and have not recieved my score yet. I know that the wave ended on May 8th becuase someone left a post above that took the exam on May 8th got the score.
Is BEC going to be released in batches?
Does this mean that I failed?
IL state board said that 100% of BEC grades from the 1st wave were to be released.
Help I am going crazy.
I hate BEC. Failed in Jan with a 71!!!!
You will PASS REG!
REG on 5/29/09. No more wasting time. Thanks for this website keep me informed!
Since everyone loves to post their score: I studied for 2 days after coming home from work and got a 52!! HAHAHA. Oh well didn't expect better than a 40.
D
BEC Aug 11th 2008 86
FAR Nov 24th 2008 75
AUD Apr 1st 2009 93
REG May 27th 2009
Answering ur question..whether all have received their BEC scores.Nope...i took BEC on April 1st,still waiting...Colorado Board.
the 51% is a very low percentage...not sure if they are expecting more to bring it up to 75%...
this would be terrible if i have to wait another month for my last score...AUD sat 4/11 in MA
Ok, so now what? I've passed my four exams, now what do I do?? I mean, we'll go out to dinner and get my kid the snake I promised him, but then what? I gotta get a job!
Sophia,
In the past - the 7th would have been the cutoff with *some* exams from the 8th...not all of them.
I think you're a Wave 2 candidate...they don't release them in batches...at least they haven't since I've been tracking this.
I truly understand the frustration/anxiety of the whole thing...I sat through FOURTEEN score releases. You have to figure out something else to focus on...that's key. You can still check on your score once (or 20 times) a day...but sitting there hitting F5 will make you miserable.
I am really scared now.Does it mean i didn't do well ?
1. you had a new simulation that they need to consider longer...
2. your score was close to a 75 (higher or lower- just as likely to be both)
so they don't release scores in batches? does that mean if I didn't receive CA audit i'm in wae 2 release?
Once the AICPA releases Wave 1 (usually)...they don't release any more scores until Wave 2.
Last window ... only like 50% of REG was released in Wave 1...everyone else had to wait until Wave 2 and even then they were either last or close to it in Wave 2.
So...based on past trends...no more scores until Wave 2.
Has NASBA released AUD yet? Any expected release date?
Thanks!
Here is why I think this:
AUD was released Friday by the AICPA...they had all weekend and most of today to run their process and get it loaded before 7pm tonight.
I bet we see AUD scores this evening (b/w 8:30 and 11:30 CST).
REG needs to come out first, right? Any word on REG?
is it true what someone else wrote that if you have a new sims you get graded with wave 2?
Quick question. So I took Audit, April 3, 2009 in Illinois (have not received a score yet) and the site said that 51% of audit scores were released. It also says that scores are released in batches. Do you think they will release more Audit scores in Wave 1 (considering 51% of scores released seems on the low end)?
I saw that you wrote that typically only one batch is released? I am just trying to figure out if I have a chance to receive my audit score sometime soon, instead of waiting until June. Please help, I'm losing my mind!!!!!!
"is it true what someone else wrote that if you have a new sims you get graded with wave 2?"
This is based on an answer that the AICPA gave in my interview with them...
http://www.another71.com/2009/04/cpa-exam-curve...
"...For example, candidates need to know that those who are presented with simulations that have not been tested previously will receive their scores in the second wave, even if they test at the beginning of a testing window."
I have a question about your response on wave1/wave2
"The only time that they release scores in batches is in Wave 2 when Wave 2a occurs around 5 days after the big release…there’s people who are “borderline” (72-77-ish) and are having their exams looked at again."
I took audit on 4/17. I called the VA board and they said they dont have my score and they only have 2,600 of 5,000 scores. Additionally, the Illinois site update says only 51% of scores were relased for AUD. Are you saying that 49% of the people that didnt receive there score because got between 72 to 77%? My first exam was FAR and it got a 75% and received my score in wave 1 way back in November.
I really think I crushed AUD. I felt one of my simulations wasnt in the becker material at all (I have the 2008 books as this was my last exam). Can this low release percentage can be due to some new simulations that were thown in the mix that need additional review?
Congrats Leigh! ...glad the cram worked for you. I hope Saturday is a success as well.
Jeff
Also, I have always been tempted to apply for jobs and just pick up and move to San Diego. It rains too much here in Louisiana. Is San Diego trully a paradise? Is it clean? beautiful?
no...I'm saying that there are people whose scores don't come out in Wave 2 and appear 3-5 days later...THEY are borderline.
Your score coming out in Wave 1 or not coming out in Wave 1 has nothing to do with your score. It could be just bad luck...a new simulation...anything.
i'm gettin' frustrated! on the CA CBA phone recording, it said that they receive batches and updates them as soon as they receive it from the AICPA. i don't know what's going on, but i've waited over 6 weeks already.
do you guys have aim/msn/yahoo/gTalk?
What are the chances that NASBA will finish preparing AUD scores and fully process REG scores by close of business this evening and then upload the entire batch for tonight between say 9:00 and 12:00 central ?
I keep thinking that if they have fixed their IT kinks and did indeed receive REG this morning, they should be able to have them posted by tonight.
any updates on Reg reults for CA?
My NASBA person is on vacation...they said they'd try to e-mail me if the AICPA released anything...I won't hold them to that since they're on vacation :)
You said you are anticipating NASBA to release AUD tonight.
I am not sure if WA is NASBA state? I thought it is, but someone already got the score this morning in WA for AUD. Does that mean score will be released tonight again in WA? Thanks
I think ther is aome technical difficulties in loading pages over 7. I was on your website this morning and I saw page 8.Not any longer, when the page load , I don't see any page over 7?/
Thanks for all your effort and a great job in keeping all of us updated.
WA is *not* a NASBA state.
What is the latest on REG? Has NASBA received the scores?
Haven't heard anything, unfortunately.
D
I just can't afford to retake REG again - I passed this in 2007 but I had to retake it because the credit expired. ah!
And this will be my last part...I passed FAR and AUD finally after 3-4 attempts...(And passed BEC again last fall). So, I really want this to be the end......
-Jeff
Not yet
Let me know if u hear anything abt. Reg.
http://twitter.com/another71
Back in December I emailed candidate care (NASBA) asking if my score had been released- they told me both FAR and BEC were and that they would be coming out tomorrow.
I'm waiting for FAR as well and felt the same exact way... everyone keeps telling me that you never know until the score pops up. I hope we pass!! Good Luck :)
So, keep sharing your experiences, it really helps the rest of us!
I am also from WA. Did you call or check the score online? I just want to know if they are releasing the scores gradually throughout the day. Some poeple got their scores this morning. Did you get yours within the past hour? Thanks
MA here
I posted as much Friday afternoon :)
waiting for AUD in NY.
IM GOING NUTS!!!
I've taken REG 3 times and made 74, then another 74, and yet a third 74. I have always had hope, although it was heart-wrenching each time.
I can't imagine making a 40. I'd probably quit.
i'm not getting any work done today..at all!! i'm going nutz like everyone else as well!!!!!!!!
LOL...that's what I needed on a Monday.
I'm starting to think that was pure horse poop because no other candidate via this site or CPA net has received REG
Maybe Jeff's NASBA person can tell us why they keep giving us these standard, horse crap answers when we call.
With that being said, I doubt we will get scores tonight (8pm-12pm est)
I am pretty sure we will get our scores early tomrrow like always(6am-11am est)
i am speaking in regards to AUD in NY..ive checked 150 times today already..
from Nan: "NASBA posted BEC scores just after 8pm Central Time on Friday."
Today is May, 18th. I live in CA.
waiting for my AUD result to come out..i am so worried..
I still have not gotton my result, its tourturing me here!!
oh my god
Char
I am preying...
Do you know the run time of the Yaegar Regulation Audio Cram Lecture? I didn't see it mentioned on the website...but I may have missed it. Thanks! Your website is great!
I know several wave one folks are still awaiting scores, but do you have any "bold predictions" for wave 2? Waiting on what I hope to be my last score and would just like some idea of a date to shoot for, so I dont try to pull up my grade 10 times a day for the next six weeks or so!!
Ironically, I scored a 71. AAHHHHHh
Unfortunately, my friend at Deloitte received his score recently and he failed. Hopefully you have better luck in this wave!!!
Any updates on REG CA?
I feel scared to check out on CBA.
Where r u checking it out on NASBA or CBA?
Do let me know.
as for me...
still no audit in ny :(
Thanks Jeff!
Sorry about the score, but did you say you just received your score, after a first batch of scores was released for Audit?
I have the same situation in Illinois. Waiting on my score?
^ ha ha ha ha ha ha. I wasn't expecting to read that!
Here are the 10 tips on how to fail a exam
1. Bring a pillow. Fall asleep (or pretend to) until the last 15 minutes. Wake up, say "oh gee, better get cracking," and scribble furiously. Turn it in a few minutes early.
2. Get a copy of the exam, run out screaming "Andre, Andre, I've got the secret documents!"
3. If it is a math or science exam, answer in essay form. If it is long answer or essay exam, answer with numbers and symbols. Be creative. Use the integral symbol.
4. Make paper airplanes out of the exam. Aim them at the instructor's left nostril.
5. Talk the entire way through the exam. Read the questions aloud and debate your answers with yourself out loud. If asked to stop, yell out sarcastically, "I'm so sure you can hear me thinking." Then start talking about what a jerk the instructor is.
6. Bring cheerleaders.
7. Walk in, get the exam, and sit down. About five minutes into the exam, loudly say to the instructor, "I don't understand any of this. I've been to every lecture this semester! What's the deal? And who are you? Where's the regular guy?"
8. Bring a video game. Play with the volume at max level.
9. On the answer sheet find a new, interesting way to refuse to answer every question. For example, write "I refuse to answer this question on the grounds that it conflicts with my religious beliefs". Be creative.
10. Bring pets
Lastly I am waiting for FAR in Delaware and preparing for AUD...and it's not fun.....not at all.....good luck to you all
Please verify Section ID Number and Date of Birth format and re-submit.
FML
Thanks to everyone that posts here for helping me cope the past six months. You've all made it bearable!
Jeff, Thanks for the great site and the moral support with your blog. I wish you the best with it!!
Since GA is a NASBA state...did NASBA just release them?
Please verify Section ID Number and Date of Birth format and re-submit.)
Is this what everyone else is getting?
Please verify Section ID Number and Date of Birth format and re-submit.)
It's the normal thing that shows up when your score isn't there yet...no worries.
By the way - those of you who use Internet Explorer...double check your section ID just to be safe. Also hit control+F5 and it will refresh your cashe...I've heard of people's scores showing up when they did this.
I also tried your tip but my score still hasn't shown up....and my section id # is pretty much burned into my memory.
so if in CA we haven’t received our AUD score it doesn’t necessary mean we failed right?
you don't fail until you see a score of 74 or lower. i'm sure there is no hard and fast rule about when you receive the score deciding whether or not you passed.
anyone ever heard of a case where the score shown on the nasba website turned out to be incorrect? like if the website showed a 75 and later the candidate was notified he/she actually scored a 57....
nope
I doubt it would happen. Checksums and authentication totals, y'know?
Basically what I am asking is, is there any reason to be checking at this hour???
Is there any shot of scores coming out this late? I am assuming this is done by people who go home in the evening, so even the fact that scores come out at 8pm suprises me… Is the actual release done by computers or what???
Basically what I am asking is, is there any reason to be checking at this hour???
Yes. The scores get uploaded with some automated batch processing process. It used to come up only between 2-5am. Now, thanks in part to Jeff, it started coming out a little earlier. They seem not to have gotten the switch fully working, so it may come out in middle of the night, or they'll have to try again tomorrow night.
Scratch that - I KNOW watching paint dry is more fun. At least you get to enjoy the side-effects of breathing the fumes.
The website is: http://www.dca.ca.gov/cba, but you need to have an active account to view your scores, and you also must have elected to have the electronic score release when you applied.
Hope this helps...
And I'm still waiting for my REG score...anyone in CA get theirs yet?
oh my god ..stress me out!!
try not to get too overwhelmed, just wait for your score. i took it in 4/7 and still haven't received anything yet. the two friends I talked to today failed it. to me, by us not receiving our scores means that we haven't failed or passed until further notice.
Waiting on Reg also, did CA receive it yesterday or IL? Any chance NASBA will post their's tonight? Thanks!!
what state are you? this is a good sign that for rets of us that you were told they have your grade but it isnt up yet
My NASBA contact is on vacation this week...they said they'd try to fwd me info from the AICPA as it came it...nothing on REG yet.
I've been through this misery many times myself...I understand the frustration.
Jeff
"Nicely done Pete! Congrats on being done!
Since GA is a NASBA state…did NASBA just release them?"
Sorry I hadn't responded before now. Honestly, I don't know when they were released. I promised my wife I wouldn't look at the score until she was in the room (Good luck!) and she runs a restaurant so I didn't look at the NASBA site until about 11:30pm EST last night. It was worth the wait!!
MA here.
NASBA said in their email that it would be posted "today at the latest" but they never release during the day in MA at least (I thought anyway), so im dying here...last one....
where the fu*k is NY audit?????????????????
-are you talking about REG or another section.
I am still seeing my score was attended but not yet recieved.
(AUD in NY)
Jeff, any idea if they will make an exception and release during the day today? specifically if a Tech issue occured?
MA-AUD here
I've worn out the website...so I know. :)
Also - I got my FAR score back in February and Texas is now sending emails letting you know your score is posted. I didn't get my email until later that morning though (8 or 9 o'clock). Way too slow for me...I already check it before I get out of bed!
Error: Score not found.
Please verify Section ID Number and Date of Birth format and re-submit
when is NY coming out?????????????????????
What is the oasis page?
I spoke with our coordinator, and she said that they received some of the AUD scores yesterday (Mon), and that those will be posted soon (don't know when 'soon' is).
Mine was not received, so she said to check back with her next week because they plan on receiving FAR and REG before the 2nd wave of AUD. I asked if if this meant that we were borderline, and she said "not necessarily".
I hope this helps with some of y'alls anxiety...just try to stay positive :)
You said you got an email back...any news on AUD + NASBA? Why there is a delay and if we have to wait until tomorrow morning (or tonight)? Because of the glitch i guess im hoping they make an exception and fix it today and run the process today.
Any insights from that email?
But I am still wondering what in the heck the AICPA did yesterday? My guess is they sat around and smoked cigarettes all day and did not grade the REG scores like they should have.
Hi
The amount of AUD scores we received is smaller. We hope to receive additional scores but cannot say when or for sure that we will receive additional scores.
Have a great day.
Jeff, from reading your responses, the AICPA releases these scores to CA, IL and NASBA. Do you know if the AICPA plans on releasing additional Audit scores? Thanks for the help!
http://www.illinois-cpa-exam.com/
Is there a way that NASBA can set something up so we get an e-mail sent to us when our score is posted? Sort of like an alert e-mail telling us that our "score is now available--log on to website to check". I don't see why that would be so hard for NASBA to do...it would save them lots of phone calls and it would save us lots of time.
Site reccomendation for the future maybe...divide these posts for release predictions into each of the 4 tests? Just a thought!
Can't Focus....
re: dividing up score prediction posts.
I can do this...but I figured people would want *one* place to post and read vs four. People waiting on REG don't want to have to monitor the BEC post to gauge when their score will come out.
Thoughts?
That's the standard company line...they say that every window.
Hell I may still do this after I finish. I sure don't want to work. Work is boring. This is real.
I can see the logic behind four boards being easier for readers. I'm not sure whether I agree - but it's a moot point. If you were charging to view the site, reader convenience MIGHT be more important, but as it is, it's not being selfish to make YOUR site more convenient for YOU. If somebody wants to not only pay the hosting fees, but also pay for your time, then they might be entitled to some decision-making authority, but otherwise - DO WHAT WORKS FOR YOU.
Any predictions on wave 2.
Yes it is sad that I am predicting when your predictions will be released.
But the most important updates do come from Jeff. Therefore, maybe there should be something at the top of the page, like a box, that houses only Jeff's comments. (like "Breaking News" that would scroll his comments) His comments would also flow through the dialogue as they do now, but all of his comments would be in one place. That would save time for people looking through what update info Jeff has previously posted.
Then there should be a place for answers to questions that just keep being asked over and over as new people find this site.
I have just called CA Board of accountancy again, was going to ask them how often they release the score. (this was with another representative). She told me that she believed that the 1st wave has already been released... the second wave will be released mid june. she asked me to just check the score once a week.
I waste enough time in the day just to come and read what other people are saying and to find out when I can expect my grade. I could imagine how much time you have to dedicate to keeping this site up and running. You have done enough for everybody here. Don't make it any harder then it has to be. This site is good the way it is. Now, if I can just get my REG grade I could move on with my life.
since I reccomended it I can revoke it. I say 4 boards is not an option, you do enough already!!
I don't know how much this would take to implement, I don't mean to suggest something that would be a huge burden. If it wouldn't be too rough, then perhaps this could be the best of both worlds:
One post, but the comment box could have either a radio button or checkboxes to say which exam section the post pertains to (checkboxes since posts sometimes pertain to more than one section). Then each post could display the section next to it so those who are only interested in their section could easily skim past the others. Or, if feasible, but I have a hunch it might not be, maybe posts could be sorted by date *and* section.
Just a thought!
Waiting on REG (last section!) in TN... (and pulling out my hair!)
I agree though. It will probably be too much work to sort out 4 posts, especially because there is so much overlap.
I am going to write them..!! going crazy!!
Jeff, doesn't your source tell you point blank which section is being released? The only 2 that have been released, to my knowledge, are BEC and AUD.
As for Audit, supposedly only 51 % were released, which means that another 10 to 30 % or so should be released after a batch of REG and a batch of FIN have been released.
Becker expires after 12 months and you won't be able to access your account online or have access to any of the homework questions (which I feel is the most important). You do have your book and the questions in the book. If you've completed all lectures and scored 90% or better on the homework, then you're eligible for TFCH (tuition free continuing help), which is supposed to be a "discount" on receiving updated materials. (The discount didn't turn out to be very much). Hope this helps....
they respond in an hour or three
Jeff, in your opinion, has NASBA released all Wave 1 grades for AUD? I took AUD on April 11th, and I don't think I can wait until mid- to late June without sleeping a full night because I wake up checking my grade multiple times every night. I thought I read some earlier posts of people receiving their AUD scores in NASBA states. Do you think this is a reasonable guess that wave 1 AUD is over?
Nasba told me my AUD score was received on 5/15, but it has not been posted yet...some states havent released them for one reason or another
Thanks for understanding.
I am currently an out-of-work auditor in the great state of GA. Your site has helped me tremendously in terms of motivation as I, also, have had some scores expire and had to sit for several exams, several times over.
I would like to "give back", if you will, and I was wondering if you needed any help maintaining the site or doing research, etc... I would love to contribute my time as I cannot contribute $$$ (see previous para. "unemployed"). :-)
http://www.another71.com/2008/03/cpa-exam-bec-s...
Thanks for this site, it does help to have some info and not be left in the void...
Hey Hilary...I appreciate that. After you pass the exam - if you would submit an article for the "My CPA Exam Story" series - encourage others with your success story...that would be greatly appreciated!
Is it safe to say if we do not see AUDIT tonight then assume we are in wave 2?
Thanks for everything!
still no score for REG in CA yet
No worries...
I never imagined the CPA could be so stressful.
Waiting for FAR in Cali, hoping REG and FAR get switched again this window. If I don't pass I lose AUD and BEC. Note to those just starting...taking two in the same window seems like a good idea but don't.
With the speed & efficiency of this new score releasing process...it sure is a good thing that the "wait got a little easier" for all of us.
Very impressive!!
Let's see...if I had to grade NASBA/AICPA on their efforts, I'd give them, let's say, a 71. FAIL.
Of course I will wait another month before letting them know their score so their arbitrary 18-month window shuts a little more. Mwhaa ha ha ha!! I'd love to see them squirm!
Still waiting for FAR in WA.
What is the latest status on score releases/sections? I'm waiting on FAR in CA..is it now most likely pushed back to Wed/Thur?
Took it April 24, I am hoping they are just saying that because they know if they say they have my grade they will have me at their front door ya know? Jeff, maybe generic?
I got a 71 on my AUD, my performance on MCQ was comparable to other candidates, but it shows that my communication was weaker. I am positive I did a good job on the communication.I have 2 questions :
If you ask for a rescore, how long does it take? I want to retake in beg. of July, will they let me know before then?
What is the process, contact AICPA, I really feel I did a decent job with the comm. from a content point of view and a technical writng as well.
Will I still be able to schedule it for July if I already asked for a rescore or do I have to wait.
Thanks,
I am in CA too, and am waiting for REG...it's my last one! I'm going crazy over here!
I'm getting different answers in regards to FAR. Do you think FAR has released in any states?
Your friend who took the exam on 5/14 is lying about his/her score. You can't get your score in less than a week. I too am waiting for my audit grade in NY.
Or maybe you have gone insane and imagined the whole thing. As they say, join the club, we have jackets.
But the friend who allegedly took it on May 14 is full of horse puckey.
This is brutal.
i'm pretending that i've passed my #4 by writing my CPA journey. :P
b/c i need something to distract me and to make me look busy at my tiny cube. :P
still no reg at CA yet
Don't joke like that !
Rename this site... AnotherVacuousAnonymousPost.com
Brilliant!!
Any updates on Reg for CA?
Did anyone in NY get audit yet?
i got an email saying i was wave 2 but im with you, wont believe it til i hear someone say they got theirs
by the way how to locate on NASBA abt. the results.
I am unable to find any link.
Plz some one let me know.
How can I check atleast....
I looked into a rescore after my 2nd 74...it's not worth it...you'll have the results from taking the exam again before you get the results of your appeal. I got an e-mail from someone who scored HIGHER in every category than the avg passing candidate (according to them...taking their word for it...) and they failed. The diagnostic is not an exact report on how you did. I would get a cram and sit again...that's what I would do.
If you try to prank score-hungry candidates...I'll ban your IP from posting.
I don't like to "be that guy"...but it's not cool to do that. It makes people think that they've missed the cut for Wave 1 and it's not fair.
Thanks.
Employee's Multitasking Doesn't Include Work
PHOENIX—Though 27-year-old paralegal Pete Gossling prides himself on his ability to efficiently accomplish numerous tasks at once, none of these activities is actual work, his coworkers said Tuesday. "It's amazing—he'll be carrying on eight IM conversations at once, keep six web browsers open to different YouTube clips, and still be able to forward e-mail after e-mail of jokes from his uncle," said legal secretary Jennifer Paige, adding that when Gossling is out of the office, he uses his PDA to compete in several online poker games simultaneously. "I've never once received a work-related e-mail from him or seen him working on a legal brief, however." Gossling admitted that he often overextends himself so much that work simply isn't possible.
That customercare person, do they give generic responses?
Q: Are 2nd wave scores borderlines AND new sims or just borderlines?
Is it possible that ALL NY Audit exams are second wave?
Do the California and Virginia Boards usually post scores before your source emails you ?
Unless you get a friendly person on the phone who will give you a "hint" about your score like "well....I would just move on to the next one, mmmkay?" .. you're just going to get a generic response.
no...I was e-mailed for BEC and AUD before CA released scores and posted the info...I have no idea what page they are on in this post...
And hopefully my BEC score will stay as it was... :-/
"Ok, for everyone who took FAR in CA. I have called the state board, and they said that they have began releasing FAR scores. They are released randomly. So I guess that some people may have received their scores by now. Anyone?"
Is this true? Jeff, have you gotten any notification that AICPA has released FAR to the state boards?
I haven't heard anything about REG or FAR...I asked my NASBA friend this morning and "nothing yet" was the response...I don't think the FAR report was accurate.
Would they lie anmd say my grade wasnt released by aicpa?
Thanks!
I read that you need the wiley 09 for the cram. I have the 08-09 35th edition, volume 2, problems and solutions. Will it work with the audit cram?
Thanks,
I totally noticed that too and was wondering if it was true.
I don't know how much longer I can wait.
AICPA, please release FAR scores!
The Terminator is your Governor.
I can understand Ohio or Colorado having problems but NY should be one the first ppl out like CA..
that may sound rude but think about it..for every 1 person testing in ohio there's like 200 in NY.
DAMN!!!!
is it quicker for you to answer 1 question or 200?
Jeff, Please Please ban these people from your site!
I love Texas women. Maybe I should find a girlfriend there.
The AICPA hasn't released a darn thing today.
but i'm still waiting. and it's 3:45pm - i don't think i'll see anything for the rest of the day :(
Any word from Maryland?
My previous scores are back up though, so something happened. Hopefully I havent been pushed to wave 2.
BTW, I read that you need the wiley 09 for the cram. I have the 08-09 35th edition, volume 2, problems and solutions. Will it work with the audit cram?
Thanks,
I took REG on 4/6! What is taking so long?!!! How am I suppose to concentrate on FAR for 5/30 if I dont even know how I did in REG 7 weeks ago!!!
Sorry Guys...I just needed to vent =/
Error: Score not found.
Please verify Section ID Number and Date of Birth format and re-submit.
am i doing something wrong? here in ny waiting for aud...
I believe the people who receive the message "attended xx/xx/2009" are looking on the website of thier state board (i.e. for states that report separately from NASBA).
"Error: Score not found. Please verify Section ID Number and Date of Birth format and re-submit." is what you should see on NASBA if your score hasn't been posted yet.
Hope this helps.
BTW, congrats to the NY ppl that recently found out they passed :)
I am with you. I took REG 4/1, and still waiting for score. I failed in FAR once, 65; and couldn't concertrat, which I know I have to.
CONGRATZ !!!
I am so jealous =p
This is the last one for me...I can't stand not knowing!
WTF! This is so screwy!
FML
Man I hope I passed those first two. I'll be bummed if I have to take BEC knowing I didn't pass one of those!
I must have checked for my score about a million times!
Great site by the way!
PASSED!!!!
All Done---first try!! Thanks for the site!! goodluck to all
REG: 68, 77
FAR: 75
BEC: 77
AUD: 68, 71, 86
Its a long road but it does end!
I am going CRAZY here! I took the exam 4/1 at 9 am... this is insane!!!!
Not sure why...maybe an issue wit the batch?
***
"JEFF- from your past experience, if nasba posted AUD scores tonight at 10 pm and I still did not receive mine, does that mean I am in wave 2? Is there a possibility that I will still receive it tonight? Is there any point in checking?
I am going CRAZY here! I took the exam 4/1 at 9 am… this is insane!!!!"
I am going to say that you're Wave 2 with the caveat that they could still be tweaking the new batch process...doesn't make you feel any better, I know. I won't have any more info until my NASBA person gets back from vacation.
Thanks!
Since NASBA released tonight and TExas updates their system at 3:15 in the morning what do you think the chances are of Texas scores being out tomorrow?
Jeff, you are great...may god be with you all the time for doing this for us. best wishes from all of us.
Do you know anything about scores for the state of FL? Took financial on april 20th and still havent received any score.
Thanks
Is it pretty much late enough to say that Monday and Tuesday have gone by and AICPA did not release REG or FIN ? I do remember that your source emailed you fairly late one night, but I don't remember it being this darn late.
Whats the chances of getting REG by the morning?
What an injustice that would be ! I really hate this AICPA.
If they are NASBA - then they should come out with everyone else...that's how NASBA states work.
My NASBA contact e-mailed me around 8pm...the AICPA had e-mailed them that evening.
I don't know what the chances are - but they are decent at least. I could see a scenario where they come out in the middle of the night...CA/IL has them uploaded by noon. It's feasible.
E-mailed them to let them know the AICPA has released scores to NASBA and the state BOAs who are independent.
what is the timeframe for wave 2?
thx
I'm about to drink a half a bottle of red wine, treat myself to some "creme brulee," and watch American Idol via DVR.
I'll be back on here tomorrow, watching like a hawk.
Thanks again, Jeff.
Go to hell AICPA !
yes - I know that the reason why IL was a little slow in getting scores out in Wave 1 was b/c of some IT issues dealing with getting the scores loaded.
REG by tomorrow morning, or tomorrow at all?
WTF this was the only test ive taken that i thought that i did well and i didnt fricken pass.
REG and BEC i was sure i failed, and i passed with flying colors, and when i think i did well, i fricken didnt pass.
AHHHHHH,
but anyway, AUD in NY is out.
May 19, 2009 at 8:30 pm
Good luck everyone! Just for the record
REG: 68, 77
FAR: 75
BEC: 77
AUD: 68, 71, 86
Its a long road but it does end!
Gongrats, I just got a 71, what did you differently to score the 88!
Thanks,
BTW for the other NY AUD guys, I took the exam on 4/11
Hope you get yours soon too!
AUD NY2- I actually felt pretty good leaving the exam. I thought that the Sims might have tripped me up though, but the MC didn't seem too bad.
I currently have two scores recorded and available under the NASBA website (AUD from 1Q Wave 2 and BEC from 2Q Wave 1). I'm not sure why the AUD score is still up, but that is neither here nor there with respect to the reason that I am writing. As we know, the NASBA submits grades through a batch process which sometimes takes, for what it seems like, forever. For the majority of the day today both scores disappeared (similar to a few other posters). This has happened to me in previous windows, and every single time my scores reappear...a new test's scores were processed and posted. Tonight was the same case. Right around the time when the AUD scores were posted, my scores reappeared.
Therefore, I think that we may correlate a period when scores are taken down and disappear as a time when NASBA is updating their scores or submitting more scores. Just thought that I would pass along some observations, and throw out some ideas to give us a glimmer of hope and insight as to when scores will be (or are being) posted. Thanks again, Jeff and best of luck to you all!
I'm waiting on CT AUD and I'm so tired of waiting too. Still no score yet.
If you don't want to take my word for it,see Jeff's post found within page 14 below:
Jeff - another71.com says:
If someone doesn’t have an AUD score by now and people from their state have their scores…I think they’ve Wave 2 based on past trends.
I have not recieved my score for AUD yet, i took it in April 1st.
I just wrote a email to CA board of accountancy see if they will get back to me by tommrrow morning... this really drives me nuts
do u guys know how many pts that part is probably worth?
btw i havent received my aud scores yet either but imma assume i failed so im hoping i somehow magically get it soon so i can schedule the retest =(
Thanks Jeff, appreciate all your efforts...cheers
Still no Florida AUD scores? Anyone???"
I took audit in early April but haven't seen a score. Has anyone else from Florida received theirs? Could it be that Florida hasn't released audit yet?
Any truth the whole wave 1.5 bit for Audit??
May 20, 2009 at 4:18 am
To the poster asking about AUD in OH —- It is up
Can you let me know when you took your AUD?
Anybody else got AUD result from Ohio?
is there any truth to wave 1.5??
Jeff - any updated predictions on when they might release REG? Difficult to focus especially after receiving 2 consecutive scores of 74 on REG, hoping/praying this time will be different.
Seems FAR is tricling out - Anyone in MA received his/her FAR score yet?
Is there any truth to wave 1.5?
WTF?!
I might not make it to the end of the week
(I think I need to get more coffee to at least appear like I am doing something at work)
this morning?
I now have motivations to finish the Ethics exam. This is a long winding and tough road to hurdle. I graduated 20 years ago from another country and getting back to the groove in studying and family life is a tough act to balance.
Goodluck everybody!
Does anyone know if there is any truth to the wave 1.5 for AUD???
lots of praying going on right now.
good luck to all.
Don't count on it...there wasn't a Wave 1.5 for REG last window (50% released).
If FAR is indeed out in a few states...is it a pretty safe bet that FAR scores will be on NASBA tonight or tomorrow?
I wouldn't count on FAR being out via NASBA tonight. Is it possible? yes...is it likely? no...you're looking at tomorrow night in all likelihood.
I'll be back on in about 4-5 hours.
-Jeff
BEC was released on Monday, AUD was released today, and FAR will be mailed tomorrow, REG should be mailed by Thursday or Friday. All of the first wave scores should be posted on our website (www.nasba.org) by the end of this week.
FAR CA came out!
CBT Exam Advisory Scores received from NASBA.
AUD: Schedule/Attendance Pending.
BEC: Schedule/Attendance Pending.
FAR Advisory Score: 91 - Attended: 04/08/2009 08:18:00
REG: Schedule/Attendance Pending.
I can't believe my eyes, does this mean I passed? Thank you, Jeff, thank you everyone for making my wait bearable~~
May 20, 2009 at 7:25 am
Took my first section of CPA exam in VA 5/1/09 (FAR). Results should be on VA board website and not NASBA, right? Someone told me in VA releases scores over the phone. Anyone familiar with VA?
Virginia's web site doesn't work. You can call and get your score over the phone, though. When I called yesterday about FAR, they said to try back near the end of the week.
I am not sure why are you not seeing your FAR yet... but i got mine this morning from their website under status... (took the exam in TX but i am a CA registrant). good luck!
While you could be correct, I have known MANY MANY MANY state board reps to "not tell the full story". They are told to say things like this.
I checked my reg score online and see the same score as the first time i took it. Is it possible that reg in ny has been released?
Thanks.
At this point I don't even care...i'm quitting the score check process until mid June. Maybe not, who am I kidding...
Go to NASBA.org ---> Get to your state CPA Exam page ---> Find the link for exam reexamination ---> Click on it ---> Try to log in with your info:
If you can log in, I believe that means the score you're waiting for has been received. I was told by some guy at 800-CPA-EXAM that there's a feature that won't let you log in to reregister as long as you're waiting on a score. They did that because people were reregistering only to find out later that they passed.
So if you can log in, you should be part of Wave 1.
I tried your method and it did allow me to log in.
Thanks for the update...I am glad to find someone from CT ;)
am still waiting on AUD score.
I hear you on that one. If they aren't posted by Friday, should we assume that there won't be any updates over the holiday weekend? I am going out of town and would love to leave my computer at home and avoid refreshing NASBA every 20 minutes.
I actually received my REG score on Memorial Day last year through NASBA so it does happen. It was not there on Saturday or Sunday but when I checked it early am Monday Memorial Day it was there. If you are in a NASBA state I suggest you check it on Monday.
TX received their AUD scores yesterday morning.
By the way, a coworker took AUD April 21 & has not yet received her score. From what she told me, she got that weird simulation that others are talking about, the one they felt belonged on a FAR exam. I wonder if everybody who got that sim will be waiting for wave 2.
Congratulations to everybody who passed, and good luck to those waiting :)
The Illinois Board of Examiners has received its second group of electronic
scores from the April-May testing window. They are noted below. Watch this space for
regular updates. This score release cycle covers testing events from April 1 through
May 8, 2009. If you tested after May 8, you will NOT receive your scores until mid to
late June. And remember: Not all scores for all candidates with exams in the early date
range will receive scores in May. Some candidates will have to wait until June.
We expect that 100% of BEC scores and approximately 75%-85% of the other
three exam sections administered April 1 – May 8 will be included in the early score
release; some sections may be released in multiple batches. The American Institute of
CPAs (AICPA) controls what scores are released, in what order and what percentage.
Electronic scores received at the Board of Examiners Released on line
BEC -- 100% of total testing Thursday, May 14, 2009
AUD – 51% of total testing Sunday, May 17, 2009
These advisory scores are now available for lookup
I'm hoping they will run a new batch in the next couple of days, because waiting another month is rough.
I got that weird simulation too! I walked out and said "I think they screwed up, one of my tabs should have been on FAR!" I'm waiting on my score in SC, which is a NASBA state (took it 4/24), and haven't received anything yet either. I guess it's safe to say that it was a new simulation (or a test simulation?) since it was so misplaced. Uuuugh I guess we're waiting until mid-June then. Thanks for the info though! I hadn't heard about anyone else that got that tab.
May 20, 2009 at 8:31 am
what was the weird sim like?"
I wish I could help you out, but unfortunately we would be in ethical violation if we discussed specifics. All I know from what I was told is that it was a topic she never heard of before & it seemed more like a FAR rather than an AUD topic.
I guess I'll just keep checking every once in a while?
I got a 76...cut it a little close, but now i'm 1 done, 3 to go!
We have received your AUD score from the AICPA and your score notice is on the way to you by mail.
It should arrive to you very shortly.
Also, you should be able to view your score on-line.
Please contact me if you do not receive the score notice within 10 business days from today.
What's happening here?
I am also in Philly waiting for a FAR score. Good luck. If you should get yours please post here. i don't want to be checking all weekend if I have been bumped to wave 2.
May 20, 2009 at 8:34 am
I got that weird simulation too! I walked out and said “I think they screwed up, one of my tabs should have been on FAR!” I’m waiting on my score in SC, which is a NASBA state (took it 4/24), and haven’t received anything yet either. I guess it’s safe to say that it was a new simulation (or a test simulation?) since it was so misplaced. Uuuugh I guess we’re waiting until mid-June then. Thanks for the info though! I hadn’t heard about anyone else that got that tab."
I feel for you, the waiting is torture! I know I will cry if I am in the 2nd wave...FAR is my last exam & if I did fail I'd like to get a new NTS ASAP & schedule for July so my entire summer isn't shot to hell!
or lack thereof
just update the link as follows:
XXXXXXX - your Section ID
MM/DD/YYYY - your birth date
SS - your state
http://www.nasba.org/nasbaweb/NASBAWeb.nsf/wpes...
good luck!
I am also waiting for my REG score from CT.
May 20, 2009 at 8:36 am
I sent an email to a person in NASBA and received the following reply. I took AUD in NY and still can’t see the score on website!!!
Whom did u email? Can u post the email id? I emailed candidatecare yesterday and havent got any reply. I am from CT and waiting for AUD and REG scores.
-Hey Joe, i had the same REG Simulation, so i guess it was a new simulation. Does anyone know if they usually wait for the second wave if it's a new simulation?
***approx. 850 more AUD scores were also released...***
I'm sorry for late response since I understand how much you were frustrated to wait for the score. The person I contacted was a State Coordinator (New York, A -L) which means if you are in other state board, it's not gonna help that much. I don't want to post up his email address so that he might get possibly crazy amounts of emails. Do you mind to give me your email address? I will forward the email right away.
Jeff, you mentioned that 850 additional audit scores were released today. Will these scores come out tonight?
well now I have to sit and wonder all day bc i got a grade 1 day later once already and received a 75..anyone else have the same?
Reason to think all 850 are borderline> I find it hard to believe they used 1 extra day to evaluate a new sim
"We got notice late yesterday afternoon of more scores for AUD being released and some of the FAR scores, no word on REG to date. I have not had time to update the website with the percentages yet but will be doing so this afternoon."
When I called this morning, they said FAR was not released, so maybe for those waiting in VA, email is the solution. Don't know but I am one happy and relieved girl!
AUD next week and I am done....good luck everyone!
I am seeing numerous posts about candidates receiving their FAR score last night or this morning. In your opinion, does this mean the AICPA has released FAR before REG, as they did last window? I am waiting on REG in PA and have a bad feeling that I may have to wait until next week as the AICPA has to release to NASBA, then NASBA to the state board, and so on. I hope this is not the case. Thanks buddy
Jeff, I would file this in your knowledge bank that MD is slow in sending out exam scores compared to other states. I even went back to previous exam windows to compare when you said scores were released to when I actually received mine. It was 2-3 days later. Ridiculous!!
REG gets the shaft again.
Craig - is MD independent? I assumed they were NASBA.
I know it is a crapshoot, but what do you think ?
I had very similar simulations this sitting for REG as I had last window (nothing new), so I can't figure out why they are punishing us REG candidates.
Do you or anyone else think that I will have to wait until the holiday weekend is over to receive my REG score in PA online? I'm hoping that somethng comes out Friday day/night so I can at least relax over the weekend.
I did it, and so can you!
I blew both sims really except for writing and guessing.
Today is a good day!
Just got my score ..pass it with 87,
in CA
and..I'm done!!
Anyone with similar situation??
but i think the score is not "final" because you haven't received the credit on the top of the Status page. even though u've passed (per the advisory score), the system doesn't show you have received the credit yet.
again, congratz to all who passed in this window! :) n' good luck to all who are still waiting for the score.
still nothing for REG in CA. argh!
I just called CA board. The person is very nice and patient and told me that score released daily directly to our account, candidates see the advisory score before the board can see the final score. She told me that the only thing I can do is to check my account once a day.
Hi,I just wanna know where are you checking out for REG.
On cba.ca.gov website right???
Plz let me know if its different.
Jeff have you seen this wave 1 score release after the first wave 1 release in previous windows?
im in CA, if aicpa released more aud scores and i haven't received it yet. i should give up hope for the month and wait till wave 2?
Congrats! I have the same situation with u. took FAR in CA on april 8th, and the advisory score says 91. First time around... Now I have a lot confidence to prepare for BEC that I'm going to take on Aug 1.
And good luck to your other sections!
Who should we e-mail at VA BOA to get our exam score?
Thanks
Anybody think that’s a good idea? I hope that I can wait for the 2nd wave scores.
I suggest other unsure NY testers do the same.
This morning's mail brought my NASBA offical letter with my BEC score results. BEC scores were received by NASBA on Thursday May 14th, and the letter was postmarked Monday May 18th.
So that's two business days for NASBA to mail the letter, and another 2 business days enroute from Nashville to Louisiana.
With NASBA's IT trouble, snail-mail is almost faster this time around.
Jeff, do you know if IL has released FARE yet?
Thanks for your help.
No FAR for me in TN
May 20, 2009 at 10:32 am
I just contacted NASBA via email, and they confirmed receipt of my score and assured me it would be posted by Friday morning, which is a relief because I was not sure what testing window I was in.
Thanks NY FAR. Good to know that we should for sure hear before the weekend!
Which state are u from?
Took FARE on 4/20. Got the advisory score today - 77!
Steve, you should be able to see the score here:
https://www.cba.ca.gov/cbt_private/login_form
Good luck!
I have never heard of it being changed on anyone and I have spoken with lots of people on the matter.
I also think that I may be one of the only few from MI. So from what I understand, we can expect MI REG scores this evening? (Not that this will change my incessant refreshing). I also felt that I received a ridunkulous simulation in which I was completely NOT prepared for. So is it also safe to expect that if I do not receive my score this evening it is because of the off the wall simulation? Do they throw these out if everyone does poorly? How does this work?
This was based upon Jeff's comments under "NASBA Updates CPA Exam Score Release Process"
http://www.another71.com/2009/05/nasba-updates-...
I am still hopeful that it will be earlier ;)
Im in NY, took aud 4/1 and desperately awaiting my score!
Good luck to everyone... I hope we all receive 85 and up!!!
Waiting in NY- b/c than everyone would do it..remember, there are hundreds of people besides everyone here waiting for scores too
CA AUD- 90s and above!
Jeff- Hi
I'm waiting on FAR here in WA. I checked early this morning but nothing yet (Castle Worldwide service).
Sure as HECK not going to check my score while at work...NO WAY! This is way, way too emotional for me. I am hoping this is my last one & if I failed I swear I will start to freakin' weep like a baby in my cubicle.
I'm going nuts...especially hearing that FAR is out there. But I'm waiting until I'm in the comfort of my home before I do anything rash.
Good Luck To Everyone!! My Best Wishes to you ALL!!
I am going insane (in case you couldn't tell)...
I emailed MD, asking when I could expect to see my audit score when I sat for it on April 1st. The response I received? "13 weeks"
Please tell me this is a generic response, I will be bald at age 23 if I have to wait until the very end of June...
i just want to see my score and get it over with. the score better comes out asap - if not, this will be the least productive week i've ever had at work....
In response to your email, for candidates who sat in April:
Approximately 90% of the scores should be released by the end of this month.
The remaining 10% should be released during the second half of June.
Scores are released individually, and in completely random order. We are not able to accurately predict when a specific score will be released. However, once we do receive a score, it will be available to you within minutes of our receipt. This includes weekends and holidays.
Hopefully I'm not in the 10%!!!!
AUD Score: 66 - Attended: 02/08/2008 11:07:00
AUD Score: 65 - Attended: 05/27/2008 11:05:00
AUD Advisory Score: 73 - Attended: 04/07/2009 11:26:00
I am bummed ..
take the holiday weekend to recharge your batteries and hit it again next Tuesday...you are not alone. be bummed for 1 day, and that's it. you've come too far, this is just a hurdle that you're going to have to accept and move on.
Maybe try different study materials?
Audit gave me hell too.
It always seemed so easy as I actually sat for it, but I made 74, then another 74, then a 73, and finally a 76.
You will get it !
I have the same battle now for REG. I made 74, then another 74, then yet another 74. Now I am waiting for REG to be released in hopes that I'll get a 75.
I know you are bummed. I have been in the same boat with FAR (this is my 6th time taking it, and I had to retake BEC because my score expired). Just keep your head up and remember how hard you worked to get to this point in your life. Most people wouldn't even try this exam in the first place. Don't let the "powers that be" get you down and make you feel like you shouldn't be here.
Try a different study method (i.e. live classes as opposed to self study or Yeager instead of Becker). Stick to your study schedule and try again. All you can do is your personal best (sorry, don't mean to sound like your mother...).
Also, I think it's unfair when posters attack people who post their high-ish scores. If I scored a 90 on a section of the CPA exam, I have a right to be proud of that. Friends and family who haven't taken the exam can understand what an accomplishment that is, and I know I'll get blasted if I post it here, so I end up with no one to share my achievement with.
FAR Score: 74 - Attended: 11/27/2007 11:37:00
FAR Score: 80 - Attended: 02/29/2008 12:21:00
BEC Score: 77 - Attended: 05/16/2008 12:27:00
REG Score: 84 - Attended: 02/25/2009 12:54:00
FARE will expire on 2009/08/29, so I have one more attempt before this turns into a big nightmare.
I think they need to fix their system. Seems so horribly inefficient somehow considering it's multiple choice.
AHHHH good luck to all!
im sorry to hear about your score. it took me 4 times to pass AUD (and i was an auditor - opps!). i told my senior (when i had my first attempt) that if i failed, maybe i wasn't meant to be an auditor and i should quit my job.
my scores were 64-74-68-81. the 74 caused me to lose my BEC credit. 68 caused me to lose my REG credit. i was laid off after the third failure. and passed it when i was unemployed. now i just hope i passed REG as well.
keep moving forward. once u passed all four parts - no one is going to ask you the number of attempts to pass the exam. it's not shown on the license. good luck with your fourth attempt! give yourself a good break and then dive back to the study mode for the next window.
Any news for REG in NH?
Ok then FL is a NASBA site.
Still waiting on FAR in FL. :(
FAR taken on 4/6
AUD taken on 4/29
I got scores released this morning for these two items.
No problem, I got my score early this a.m. in Virginia (85! phew) Non-NASBA states release first for some reason then NASBA states. Just moved here from the sunshine state (Bradenton).
I have read a lot about what sounded like the old grade release process was batch processing of each wave, where as now a lot of people are posting that state boards are stating the grades are being release gradually. Is this something new?
woot!!! Thanks Jeff....really appreciate your websites and efforts.
I emailed the NASBA - CT coordinator that I am unable to view my AUD score ( I didn't want to ask them when will the AUD score come out, as they have a standard answer for that question), I got a reply within an hour saying that my grade has not come in yet. Now, atleast I know something!
I think all those waiting desperately for scores like me should try and email their respective state coordinator.
does anyone know if they tend to release the passing scores first and the borderline/failing scores later? or is it random?
Just got my FAR at IL…. 72! Re-take on 7/1!
do you mean it just got posted on the IL board website this afternoon???
Believe me it was hard leaving - I froze this past winter. My husband lost his job in FL, so he got something in VA, we're originally from here. But hey, I still have a home there I can't sell, been on the market over a year, so maybe we should move back in lol.
IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT DON'T READ THE BLOG!!!
I have always loved Florida and even moved to Fort Lauderdale for a while. It rains far too often in the state of Florida, and it really should not call itself the sunshine state because the sun is not out consistently enough. I lived it, and I even researched it to obtain definite weather facts. Florida is one of the rainiest states, and Miami gets tons of rain each year. San Diego, on the other hand, is in the top 10 least rainiest cities.
I'm in a better mood on sunny days. I'm moving to San Diego.
It is nice not having the state tax.
They usually get you somehow, but it is nice not having to fool with state tax returns.
"Electronic scores received at the Board of Examiners Released on line
BEC -- 100% of total testing Thursday, May 14, 2009
AUD – 63% of total testing (UPDATED) Tuesday, May 19, 2009
FAR – 78% of total testing Tuesday, May 19, 2009
REG – NO SCORES RECEIVED"
I got in a friendly argument with my uncle over lunch that the current CPA format (4 parts spread out) is harder than the past written CPA format (take all parts same weekend) that he took when he was my age... The problem is I don't really have anything to back my side up on because doing it all in one weekend seems a lot harder. Does anyone know what the differences are? Is the test harder or easier now? Is it more complex now?
Still waiting on CA audit.
Please post/update when you get your score.
I was doing an audit and the controller brought up this topic and told me the exam is easier with the new format but then changed his mind when and said there were only about 12 FASBs when he took it, lol.
We just received AUD score from the AICPA.
You should be able to view it online by Friday.
I did this last night...is this what you mean?
Revised NASBA release prediction:
# May 17 - BEC
# May 15 - BEC actual NASBA release
# May 19 - AUD
# May 19 - AUD actual NASBA release
# May 20 - REG
# May 21 - FAR
Question - does anyone know if your response on the Communication section matters? I swear I read something in the Becker materials that said you must stay on topic, but that you are graded on your writing abilities, not whether or not the answer is correct. Anyone know? Jeff??
I ask because I made the mistake of thumbing through my book in the car after I got out of my test. DUMB! I know one of my communications was WRONG!! Oops...
May 20, 2009 at 4:03 pm
"Illinois posted 78% of FAR scores. I took my test April 1st. I didn’t receive my score in this wave does that mean I am borderline?"
No, that doesn't mean that you are borderline... I have read a lot here that people receiving their scores in Wave 2 instead of Wave 1 sometimes receive great scores. so, you need not worry :)
The most important thing is the format (no red and green squiggly lines) and that you are at least somewhat on topic (hence using the words within the question) for the INITIAL grading which is done by a computer. However if you are in the range of 73-77, an actual person will read it and then that is where getting the question right matters... However format is generally more important than correct context, as long as, even your wrong context is still on the correct subject.
Still waiting on my score (NM) …Dagnabit!
Laura, I feel your pain. This is my first exam and I hope it is not this way everytime.
Did other people in CA get their FAR scores yet?
"Anonymous says:
CAdreamin,
Did other people in CA get their FAR scores yet?"
From what I have read on this website, YES! This troubles me because I have not received mine yet and I took the exam at the beginning of this testing window.
Not sure why, but in my experience Maryland is a little slower than the other states in posting scores (I have passed two sections, waiting for audit to be my third). I know several people who have taken audit in the current window, and everyone is still waiting...
However - yours truly is playing golf all day tomorrow (I play once a year...my real hobby is my dirtbike) and if I get an e-mail via my phone - I will post an update on TWITTER...I can't post it here via my phone. So...if you want an update tomorrow (if one comes out...) ... please join twitter and/or follow me.
http://twitter.com/another71
As Craig said, I have noticed MD is behind other states by a day or so as well. Additionally, I have received three of my previous scores in the morning (not sure what that actually means). Finally, last section I had waited on I saw numerous posts that MD had been released, and I heard nothing that day and assumed I was in the second wave. A day later, the score came in.
Hope any of that helps.
Sounds like all three of us are in the same boat. We all took FAR in the early part of the window and did not receive our scores. Let's hope it has something to do with some Sim or something. I felt like I did ok, but now this is driving me nuts
Is that normal? Please don't tell me that they changed their mind and are going to give me a 74?!!?!
Oh yeah, also those of you waiting for FAR/REG, I hope your grades come in too. :)
I'm waiting for my FAR score as well, so when you say they are updating the system to add new scores, does that mean they are going to add my FAR score soon, or they are just adding other people's scores?
Thanks!
Is there a way to figure out how many people took AUD from 4/1 - 5/8? I am trying to figure out what chance I have of being one of the 850 receiving scores soon.
And those additional 850 audit results is not just NY but a number of states across the country.
Another day and no grade for REG in NY!!!
Yup you got it rite..I am going crazy over FAR score in Delaware
Stressing in FL over FAR.
Would you like some ice cold beer with a passing score ? Do you wanna supersize your score to 98?
I took the BEC and received a score a few days ago, but now its gone. Someone said they are updating the system, so the grade will be gone temporarily, because they are adding new scores. I’m waiting for my FAR score as well, so when you say they are updating the system to add new scores, does that mean they are going to add my FAR score soon, or they are just adding other people’s scores?
anyone from FL get there FAR gradE?
26th
I would call it a night and do something fun - get away from the computer. I don't think you'll see scores tonight...I haven't heard one way or the other...I just think it makes sense for them to come out via NASBA tomorrow night - not tonight.
While I am very thankful that everyone visits my site like they do...I think a night off could calm some frazzled nerves. Having been through this many times myself - I know that you can drive yourself MAD and it affects every aspect of your life...can't eat/sleep/work/emotionally connect with family...you're thinking about one thing - YOUR SCORE.
Go do something fun tonight...I bet they come out tomorrow night. Again - this is based on nothing but a guess. If I knew either way - I would certainly tell you.
Thanks again for everyone's contributions today.
-Jeff
it was 9pm central
i knew its a poor and dull state but never knew that no body takes cpa exam from oklahoma, you got to love this state
Why do they torture us this way???
Nice Buffett reference Jim
Going Crazy over a PA FAR score. 12:30AM here and I can't sleep
Hello,
Nasba has not received any FAR scores from the AICPA yet, we should soon.
FARE will be my last if I pass, otherwise I lose AUD and BEC. Thinking of quitting public accounting and becoming a surrogate mother for the stars if I don't pass ;o)
good night
The following is the message I got from the state board this morning, regarding an score request email that I sent to them yesterday. I have got my score this morning, but just want to share this email with those of you who did not. Hopefully this will give you more hope. And good luck:
In response to your email, we received _some_ of the first wave FAR scores this morning.
Scores are released once a day. within minutes of our receipt. This includes weekends and holidays.
So I guess the next time they are releasing the score is tomorrow morning. So good night everyone!
Also, still waiting for a REG score here in NY. Come on let's pass and be done with this darn test once and for all!
Anyway, are they releasing AUD tomorrow morning, too ?
Still waiting for FAR and AUD in CA with a hope to pass....
I do think not knowing is sapping my motivation for BEC upcoming, though. That, and work.
I know that the true pressure only really starts when I know that I've passed something.
FUAICPA
The is my 5th time taking it and last time I got a 74.
I had no idea how much fun the CPA exam would be.
This will be a long day of work and waiting.
I totally agree with you ....this wait is worst then any kind of torturing techniques out there...it’s killing me severely (not softly) …
You're not the only person in OK who is taking the CPA exam. I'm waiting on my reg score. But, I will tell you this for whatever it's worth. I took audit on Aug 25 and got my score in the 2nd wave with CA,IL,VA people in the middle of the day. Let you know my reg score comes in on time.
Has anyone heard anything about the release for FAR? I really don't want to be waiting (or worried about checking for that matter) during the holiday weekend.
oh my god - i passed! ! I am going to be a CPA ! ! After 3 LONG years - countless nights & weekends - the birth of my son - the loss of 2 jobs - 13 FREAKING exams - -- -I HAVE DONE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
AND _you_ CAN TOOOOO!!!! ! ! !! ! ! ! !! ! ! ! !
I LOVE YOU ALL ! ! ! thank you thank you thank you
a H U G E _Thank You_ to Jeff Mr. Another 71! You are an incredible inspiration & a true professional...You will do great things.
Good Luck To All ! !
BTW, what state and what exam?
Emailed Mass coordinator this morning, reply yet
Just being curious . . . I hope I am not in the second wave . . .
took REG 4/5 in MASS. Have BEC 5/29, just want my REG score for peace of mind.
By the way, I'm in NY.
Congrats but does that mean you got your REG score?
yeah stephanie, when did you get that grade?
oh, youre a tool mike
May 21, 2009 at 8:28 am
You got all of your scores from FL????? all four sections? When did you take FAR? and what crack are you smoking that you took them all in one window?"
Marie, I think going by "he said if you don’t receive your scores by 10:45 EST, you failed," we can safely say someone is trying to pull our collective leg.
And.....now I'm even more frustrated now that they had an attitude about my call. I realize their phones are ringing off the hook but that is just unprofessional.
We are all professionals. Grow up.
I would have imagined that a CPA could find a better way to make use of his time.
And i want REG in NY...like soon
you called NASBA and they gave you your grade?????????
BTW - Jeff isn't even studying for the CPA exam, he's a jazz dancer hoping to make it on 'so you think you can dance'.
I have your IP address and I will be reporting you to the local authorities. You might want to get off of your daycare providers computer, pull up your diaper and make a run for it while you can!!!
btw - you're welcome
I am still waiting for my AUD score in NY. Just curious, did anyone who is still waiting for the score in NY get those weird looking FARE typed simulations? I wonder if that causes the delay."
I'm wondering the same thing, my coworker got what sounds like the sim you are describing, and she hasn't received her score yet.
Delaware, Indiana and Hawaii..
part of my question: I have been checking my score since yesterday, but I cannot see my score there (refering to NASBA.ORG), does that mean I fail ?
Response: No. Just keep checking on it and you will get the score letter shortly. Thanks
I am hoping "letter SHORTLY" is "today", and I am hoping WE ALL pass.
Alabama
SCORE MAILING
All scores for the current testing window are mailed via U.S Mail. Scores are not faxed or emailed to candidates. Score notices are only distributed via U.S. Mail.
Amy - I can never tell if they change in difficulty. Maybe I can't because I haven't passed one yet. I was the same way with BEC. I had about 6 educated guesses and quite a few wild guesses on topics I hadn't studied. That score is coming 2nd wave so I'm not stressing about it YET.
As you heard with my great elation, I passed. (!!!)
I took my exam on 4/18. My simulations seemed pretty "normal"...meaning there were no weird curveballs or oddities. They were actually pretty easy & I felt that there was no way that either of them were "test" sims.
My advice for future FAR takers out there (without giving too much info):
1) Don't skip over anything. They can (& will) ask questions on everything...bonds, pensions, ratios, leases, fair market value, taxes, etc. But you will probably find entire swaths of stuff untested as well...which is a total drag.
2) Don't underestimate non-profit / governmental accounting. It is 20% of the test & I find those questions & material to be relatively easy. Know it.
3) Totally know inside & out the "basic functionality" concepts of financial accounting...that is, the ACCRUAL process. This is heavily heavily tested thing: prepaids, depreciation, A/R, A/P, etc.
4) Do hundreds upon hundreds of practice MCQs...this is key. You will find questions reused over & over again on the exam. I used Becker for this.
5) Maintain positive attitude. No matter what.
6) Don't psyche yourself out the night before/day of exam day. Relax. Have confidence in yourself. The actual exam (although I failed plenty of times) is not as bad as the practice questions you so diligently studied.
7) Find time for yourself. Look at clouds. Listen to music. Drink booze. Have fun. Life is short, so inject some good into it during those dark days of exam-study-time.
GOOD LUCK TO EVERYBODY! If I can do it -- & I am crazy -- you can do it!
Thanks again Jeff - Keep up the good work!
But Becker is all about studying efficiently. They try to predict what will be asked on the exams and only tell you to study those things. If they guess right, you (the candidate) ends up being successful with much less study time invested. However, if they guess wrong - as they apparently did in your case, you (the candidate) are screwed. Obviously you knew the material that Becker focused on, but were tested on different material.
The AICPA puts out a 'Content Specification Outline', which is what the questions are written from and includes every area that could be tested. Some prep courses take this outline and expand upon it, teaching you everything that could be covered - this is obviously much less efficient, but potentially infinitely more effective.
On a side note, you could lose your license, even before you get it, by discussing test questions. If you are determined to risk that, I highly recommend you don't mention those conversations on the internet.
I experienced the same thing as you. I scored very well on the Becker review software, yet was thrown so many curve-ball questions/simulations on topics Becker claimed were hardly tested at all. My close friend, on the other hand, said he had questions/simulations on all the items emphacised by the software. I know for a fact he hardly studied, but lucked out on the exam.
So my point is, yes- it does seem very unfair, but I'm hoping the AICPA takes the exam difficulty into account when scoring it.
I'm hoping too!!! :)
I haven't seen a comment from him in the last 3.5 hours that I've been on here.
Help! I didn't feel too good about this exam (but then a gain I think I felt the same about AUD and I got a 83, so I'm trying to be hopeful!) and I am trying to plan a wedding and all I can focus on is this dang score!
For the rest of us, NASBA only releases once a day, there is no point in giving yourself the heart attack of hitting submit a ton of times during the day, the newest release will most likely go up tonight. I'm waiting on my last two parts, so hopefully if I failed one thats the one I find out about so I can resume studying.. but I could really use the good news too.
Good luck to everyone!
Exam: Audit
Date of Exam: April 14, 2009
Date of Score: May 20, 2009
Date Score went missing: May 21, 2009
The first wave of scores just started to be released last Friday, May 15, 2009. NASBA (National Association of State Boards of Accountancy) releases scores as they receive them from AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants) in no specific order. As of right now, no scores are late.
If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact the Exam Unit at 916-263-3677 or examinfo@cba.ca.gov.
i took BEC on the 8th and i got my scores on the 14th itself
so you should call up the board co-ordinator and ask him/her.
good luck with your score.
does anyone have a clue when do they officially send us the scores?
and how do they send us the scores?
by mail or post?
Waiting in FL, at least the rain has stopped (for now).
but i had a bad experience last year with my AUD score and it was something wrong btwn NASBA and AICPA - i took the exam in april and i didn't got my score until july. so i hope this is not the case...
I agree...release the scores...lol.
How do I get in touch with board coordinator in pa?
RELEASE THEMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
"CPA Examination Services, Nashville, TN, is responsible for delivering the Georgia CPA Examination. "Has anyone heard FAR yet? I really hope I made wave 1"
Nopes, no news on FAR score release by non-NASBA states. Hoping to receive it tonight. Good Luck !
Any word on FAR from NASBA?
Come on now!
'There is no problem. It should be available online shortly.'
Thats for AUDIT in NEW YORK
10. In several places on your tax forms, he’s written, "Give or take a million dollars."
9. Tells you to put all your money into British cattle futures.
8. You notice that his "calculator" is just a broken VCR remote.
7. Insists that there is no such number as four.
6. He laughed at Bob Dole background check (I am sorry - that’s a sign he is hypnotized).
5. Counts family of squirrels living in your yard as dependents.
4. Advises to save you postage by filing your taxes telepathically.
3. Instead of a CPA license, he’s got a framed photo of a shirtless Alex Trebek.
2. Demands that you call "Una-countant."
Whats a NASBA and Non NASBA state? What’s the difference, and why do some states get there’s earlier than others?
Anonymous,
The difference is if you are a NASBA state you get your scores online at NASBA. If you are not, you get your scores from the state which can be from a variety of ways from online (state website), calling or normal mail. From reading this blog I get the impression that non NASBA states get their scores earlier because NASBA has to coordinate with the states prior to release. This is only an educated guess since this is my first exam and I am still waiting on AUD and basically if I am not in the 850 release, I will probably be in wave 2 even though I took the exam on 4/21.
Hope this helps.
I’d like to know the rationale as to why there are NASBA and non-NASBA states in the first place. I would think score releases would be more efficient if all were the same.
Amy,
I think NASBA can provide the answer to it ! Agreed, that if score releases are made uniform like they have made the testing uniform, it would be the same waiting time for all the candidates, atleast !
PS VEGAS IS 0utta Control.
I have been waiting on AUD. I believe for the most part NASBA only updates in the evening. It is unlikely you will be able to see your score until sometime this evening or early tomorrow. I feel your pain in the wait.
"We have not received any REG scores and have not heard when we will be receiving any. Please watch our web site at www.ilboa.org for any score up-dates and check your online account. Unfortunately, that is the only answer I have right now."
the waiting is terrible.
Well i am off to a meeting. see you guys tomorrow.
good luck and hopefully we will get some scores tonight.
I have emailed several times to NASBA over the last 2+ days and have not got a single response back. If I knew if NASBA had my score or not would be nice. I just want to know one way or the other.
Hope this helps...
What is there to approving? Bump some people up or down?
May 21, 2009 at 1:53 pm
Why is the need for the State Approval for the results?"
I'd like for the AICPA & the state boards to explain that one. If some states don't have to go through the approval process, then why do any states have to? Or conversely, if some states require approval, why don't they all? I better not think too much about it, it's already giving me a headache!
But I can't let myself click and cry all weekend on this website.
Hell, I guess I better travel somewhere or something. After Friday night, I have to stop this.
"Scores come in to us in the evening and candidates can view them after 7:00 CST."
Not very specific, but sounds like we're wasting our time looking for scores from NASBA throughout the day.
I don't read Wiley's book, I just use their CD for MCQs. I don't like practice MCQs from a book, I like practice in a computer...
I want to ask him to ask his NASBA source if they will do a Saturday night upload.
Your TN FAR score should be revealed online tomorrow. Also, your hard copy result of FAR will be mailed out to you tomorrow.
Does anyone think I can view it on nasba.org tonight although they say tomorrow?
yes, the suspense is killing me =(
May 21, 2009 at 3:36 pm
I just want to have a good reason to drink this holiday weekend! either celebrating or crying….the suspense just seems waaaayyy too long this time around!"
hahaha...I said pretty much the same thing. Regardless of my result, my reaction will bee the same, tears & booze!
Brian, thanks for the PA update, hopefully we will see something late tonight!
I have definitely heard of Many, very pretty around there, huh?
We'll have to keep talking on this site and maybe even flirt a little. I've been told that I'm about a 6 or 7 on a scale from 1 to 10 but could easily move to an 8 if I dropped 15 to 20 pounds and/or become ripped.
Any idea if we might see REG scores in VA tomorrow?
cuz i'm so tired with this waiting process...ah!
It is not necessary for me to believe that my score is near passing score?
Good Luck to all !
BEC 83
FAR 80
REG 62, 72, ??!!
Thank you for responding to my question
Since Aud is my last test, I guess that I will start preparing for Aud soon in case that I need to retake on July. Hopefully, I will get the good result on June.
Me too.
I took Aud on Apr 23rd in WA which is my last test. now I'm waiting for the result. I really hope that I will get the score this week. otherwise, i gonna have to wait till the end of June. According to what Amy in Philadelphia said, it is unnecessary for my socre to fall into boardline score but that could be the reason.
It really drives me crazy. i hate myself checkin my score every time hoping that i pass.
Good luck to you too. we will get the good socre on June!
Maybe they should make the window 2 years instead of 18 months. That way you have time to check for your score!
Waiting for reg is killing me!
BEC 78
REG 68, 73
FAR 72, ?(felt good walking out of the exam)
AUD (1st attempt May 26)
I have BEC next Thursday and I can't focus on anything. I'm not even sure I will get me score for reg since I took it 5/7.
Yes, I did graduate from LSU back in 1998 and then again with a Masters in Accounting in 2007.
I am glad to see my fellow Louisianians here too.
I need REG to be done. I made a 74, then another 74, and even got a 3rd 74 last wave. lacpawannabe, don't give up. This was my 14th sitting in 12 months. I got through it by being as silly as I could possibly be for a 33-year old and also by drinking red wine after I finished studying each night. I sleep like a baby.
To the fellow Baton Rouge hopeful, my friend is also waiting for FAR. We are hoping he will get it tonight.
May 21, 2009 at 6:52 pm
Just got my score in TN 73. Got to start studying again.
Is that for auditing?
while attending Grad School full-time and working part-time. It can be done!
Done!!!! I cannot recommend GLEIM strongly enough.
I am waiting for my FAR score in Illinois (took on 4/1). I feel like I did ok, but I think I'm in the second wave and its driving me nuts.
AUD 93
REG 88
BEC 81
FAR ???
Yeah for getting FAR for the weekend. On to study for REG!
I PASSED FAR with an 81. Thanks so much for hosting this great site. For all of the insanity I just experienced, this site kept me sane.
I am now done with all parts. YAHOO!!!
For those that passed. When you hit the submit button, where was your mouse arrow located on the submit button? Right, Left, On the word submit, Above the word submit, Below the word submit, etc
Took AUD 5/6 and still waiting, but it will be (hopefully) my last one!
REG 10/11 75
BEC 11/26 76
FAR 4/10 77 (last July 70 first try)
AUD 5/6 fingers crossed! (last Aug 50s but I barely studied and moved in between exams)...
Good luck to everyone still waiting!
I had exact experiance!
Also, does any one get your AUD score yet in CA? I took it on April 1, and have't got my score
Subject: Question about scores
Hi,
I sat for the REG section of the cpa exam on 4/24/09. I believe that
puts me in Wave 1 (?). Please do you know if the scores have been
released and when they will be posted to the website?
Thank you so much.
"No Reg has come out yet"
I presume that means no REG nationwide. So lets all forget about REG for now :(
Congratulations to all who passed BEC, FAR, and Audit. For those who didn't, persevere until you make it.
waiting on FAR in PA
very frustrating
right there with you, so nerve racking
I got a 69. Missed it by 6 crappy points! And you?
I have been taking this exam for 6 years now. I took the last paper exam and got 4 - 70 through 73. It's been a long ride.
We just have to keep on pushing!
IN FAR - 83!
THANKS ALL
I would have started losing sections May 31, what a relief!!!!!!
