I've been 4/4 and I've been 0/4...last wave I was 2/4...they are just predictions based on what my "best guess" is and I will update with information in real time as I get it.
At least I'll have adequate time to prepare for a second go-round before the end of July, if necessary.
I'm sure my score is in the 70s. I just don't know which side.
if only we stop counting everyday towards the score releases
there's so much pending we havta catch up on which we left out during studyin for these exams...
we could all be busy doin all of that!
I am taking BEC this coming Sunday, May 31... i should know the result based on my prediction by June 13, right? Technically, that exam date is part of Wave 2...
Let me know..
Eric believe me irrespective of the score
that would be one the most nervous birthdays of your life!
Anybody preparing for Auditing in Virginia fairfax , or Rockville MD area?
Do you know how the scores release work for non-Nasba states? Looks like there has been no REG scores at all for REG in WA and the WA board actually said no one in WA has received any REG so far. Is it really possible to omit an entire state altogether and push us to wave 2? This is the first time there's a delay, I usually receive mine the same day of NASBA release.
REG is the last section I need to pass and the score will be released in wave 2. A coworker told me that if I passed it, it will take about a week longer than expected. Is there any truth to this based on your understanding of the release dates?
nope - people who pass and fail will get their scores on the same day. "Borderline" people *could* have their scores delayed up to 5 days, though.
This sounds like your state is releasing slower than everyone else...the AICPA releases to everyone at the same time according to my understanding. Some states get them out immediately...NASBA is about a day and a half later...some states are very sllloowwww to release and still use snail mail.
If you have a chance to provide feedback to NASBA, I would think it's fair to suggest that they provide better scores release notice/info to exam takers. It's ironic that us CPAs study so much about having proper controls and accountabilities but NASBA itself is going the route of no promises - no procedures/controls - no accountabilities when it comes to score releases. It's as though not putting things in writing exempted them from having any responsibilities to answer to us exam takers.
I can provide you the NASBA contact I have if you want to find out if you're in wave 1.
After you pass your fourth part, your state may have some extra processing to do and a big packet to send you. I wouldn't worry about it.
no qs were repeated from the cd..
infact i am comin to the conclusion that a thorough reading of the main text and the qs and the online sims are sufficient for us to clear the test.
is it usual to receive your test report one day after they release your score???
i received my AUD score on the Wed 20th and i received the report on Thursday 21.
the summery of the report were as follow; all 5 section of Mcqs over 78% , simulations strong , writing weak/// my score 73 ?/?/?
i know that i did not have adequate answers for the two writing parts. i had two simple writing questions, but because i usually do the writing at the end test ( i could not do more )
NOW i have skepticism that i already pass the AUD exam but because of the two easy writing questions they failed my. take on consider that all 5 section of Mcqs over 78% , simulations strong , writing weak, AND I RECEIVED THE REPORT ONE DAY AFTER I RECEIVED MY SCORE // (never happen before)
AUD is my last part
so please, if you gays have different analyzation
gust help me
ps; do i have the Right to cope form the research tab to answer the writing question
took the reg section today. Pretty tricky, could go either way. I used Becker and there were only a few questions on topics that it didn't cover. Sims were fair, research questions were impossible though, I couldn't find either of the two items in the literature.
Please let this nightmare be over
D
I really appreciate that I can get some useful information here.
Thanks Jeff and all here !! Thanks again !!
"The Board receives scores from the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) in waves during and after each testing window. The Board validates each score before reporting it to the candidate. Score reports along with the performance reports are posted to the Board's website and may be viewed by the candidate." --from TSBPA
The numerical grade that shows up on your diagnostic report isn't the percentage you got correct. The number doesn't really mean much unless you compare it to the average grades of those that passed the exam. For each MC testlet, does it say you are stronger or weaker than the other people that passed the AUD exam? Also, there are only 3 MC testlets in the AUD exam, and I don't know what you are saying in 75% of your post, so I am not surprised you scored weaker in the communication section. In addition, the communication is worth 10% of over your overall grade, so if you left those blank/inadequately answered, that's definitely going to hurt your overall score.
i happened to get the same question in testlet 1 and testlet 2...
does that mean i did the question wrong in testlet 1 so the question appear again?thanks
You probably had a new sim which puts you in Wave 2 automatically.
No worries.
First off, thanks for all of your hard work, this is a great site!
Second, I took audit in Texas on May 2 and called this morning to ask about not receiving my score yet. They told me that they are still receiving audit scores. I asked if that meant I was in wave 2 and he said there are more like 5 or 6 waves of releases and I may still receive my score soon. Do you think it's possible that I will find my score out before your wave 2 predictions?
Thanks for your help!
By "receiving" I think they mean that they are processing AUD scores...the AICPA hasn't released any more scores and I've been told that they won't again until Wave 2. It's possible your state BOA is just delayed in getting scores out since they process them independently. So, in theory you could still get your AUD score before Wave 2...but it's really just a delayed Wave 1 score.
I hear you on the REG research questions, though I found the sims pretty difficult, not very similar to the sims in my Bisk review materials. I thought the first research element was pretty simple, I found it, no problem, and was 100% sure it was the right answer.
The second one, though, forget it. It had to do with something completely ridiculous and minor that must have been buried deep within the Code. It would be nice if they gave you something reasonable that you might actually have to research as a practicing accountant. I wasted 15 minutes looking for the damned thing. It's a good thing this was the last tab of the 2nd sim - otherwise I would have had to just punt on it entirely.
Thanks Jeff, for the website.
How does BEC usually flow, time-wise? Did you guys find that you were pressed for time, or was it pretty loose? I'm just praying they don't sock me with a bunch of massive OH variance questions or sprawling WACC questions.
Looking ahead, how much time would you suggest in studying for AUD and FAR? Of course, this is assuming I pass BEC. I'm hoping to take them in the same window some time down the road as I am doing with REG and BEC. To this point, I haven't touched any of the AUD or FAR material.
I found BEC to flow pretty well...2.5 hours is "just right". I also tend to be a slow exam taker...didn't finish my 2nd sim on FAR.
For AUD...study maybe 60-70 hours. Double that for FAR...everyone is different though.
When I passed, I studied about 30-40 hours for AUD and around 100 hours for FAR...but I ran out of time and skipped NFP (and still passed, amazingly).
Jeff
“We receive scores from the AICPA in two "waves." The first wave is received during the second month of the testing window, usually around the middle of the month and the second wave is received mid way through the non-testing month. Since the AICPA grades completely at random, we have no way of knowing which wave a candidate's score will arrive in - even if the candidate tested at the very beginning of the testing window. I believe we have already received all of the AUD scores for the first wave, so it is likely your AUD score will not be transmitted to us until the middle of June.”
I told him I have talked to NASBA representative and rep said that there will be another Audit score release at the end of this week or next week as part of the first wave for the state of Ohio.
Here is his reply to my second email.
“I only said I believe we have received all AUD scores, there is still a chance we will receive a few more stragglers but I have not yet received confirmation of this.”
So... what do you guys think?
For those of you that pray, or are mildly religious, the above link takes you to a Prayer specifically for examinations. I read through it and considering it is from a Beta Alpha Psi Chapter it makes sense that it applies pretty perfectly to our much loved CPA exam... cough cough.
Good luck to those of you still testing these last few days! I am patiently awaiting my AUD score from 5/6 that did not come in Wave 1, it is hopefully my last so fingers are crossed, but it feels good to not be studying and remembering that once upon a time I did have friends aside from Peter Olinto and Tim Gherity... and JEFF of course :-)
-Jeff
I finished BEC with about an hour to spare; but I'm a quick test taker usually, and am studying overkill on all sections...
if two students are appearing for the same subject in the same testing window but on different dates & in different states however regd. from the same state board, Do they get the same Sims?
The AICPA releases to everyone...there is no AICPA "state" so to speak.
Some states like CA/IL/VA/TX handle their own score releases...some of them are fast...some are slow.
NASBA handles everyone else. The best way to know is to go to NASBA.org and click on CPA Exam...find your state...click on "score"...if there is a place to enter your ID and date of birth...you're a NASBA state. If there's no big white space on the right side of your page where your score will show up...like here...
http://www.another71.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/score.jpg
you're not a NASBA state. California is fast...states like Mississippi (scores sent via snail mail) are usually last...NASBA is in the middle.
Hope that helps,
Jeff
I too had the same trouble as you on REG. I took my exam on April 3. I ran out of time and only was able to do one problem (the research question) on the second simulation, so I left the rest blank. I just received my score on Memorial Day and got a 92. I thought I did terrible on the first simulation as well, so don't count yourself out.
Jeff,
I sat for REG this morning at 8am. After I finished all three multiple choice sections, the computer came up with an error and I couldn't access the simulations. The message told me to contact the administrator (Prometric). The same thing happened to 4 other CPA Exam test takers. We waited for over 4 hours in the lobby for them to finally tell us they don't know what's wrong and we need to go home and reschedule our exams!!
This can't be right. What should I do? Who do I need to contact?
The long and short of it is that you're out of luck - you will have to take those 3 testlets over.
e-mail cpaexam@nasba.org and give them your section ID...they'll review the computer log and let you reschedule for free.
I know it sucks, but that's your only option...I don't think they're going to let you go back and just sit for the sims.
I live in California and CA requires for the CPA candidates to pass the Ethics exam. I am still waiting for AUD score (my last section) but thought in the mean time I can take the Ethics exam since it is good for two years. Can anyone share with me where you purchased the text and what is the process? Thank you so much for all your help!
I don't think so. I believe only a handful states require this... Unfortunately, CA is one of the requiring state :-)
a question out of curiosity
if two students are appearing for the same subject in the same testing window but on different dates & in different states however regd. from the same state board, Do they get the same Sims?
Maybe nobody has answered your question because they are not interested in helping you devise a cheating strategy?
May 28, 2009 at 2:55 pm
i repeat-
a question out of curiosity
if two students are appearing for the same subject in the same testing window but on different dates & in different states however regd. from the same state board, Do they get the same Sims?
Kush,
Does it really matter ? Even out of curiosity, it is not something worth to spend time to think upon IMO ! Good Luck !
what are you guys gettin so worked up with?
there's no cheatin in it people...
and FYI 2 of my friends did get the same sims appearing from diff states but reg with same board...
thats why i wanted to confirm..
friggin noobs....
how can you know what sims your friends had if you didnt talk about the test after you took it?
IMO this type of information should stay off the record.
i still haven't taken the test buddy.
i said two of my friends did.
anyways nvm...
this is goin nowhere...
Jeff answered my qs.. and that's sufficient for me.
Any help will be appreciated!
i'm taking my first section (BEC) tomorrow afternoon (5-27), should I still expect to be included in the wave 2 release? thanks!
So give yourself a few minutes leeway, plan to be halfway through each section in 23 minutes, and plan to complete each section in about 46 minutes.
it is confused! Based on my understanding, wave 1 is complete, and I have to wait until wave 2. Why the board is saying they continue to release score daily?
So its confirmed that we are all Wave 2.
I am sure we will have to wait until the 2nd wave.
BEC; 79
Aud; 74, 79
REG; 71, 80
FAR; 56, 71, 82
All but the last with the most commercial review course and the 82 with Jeff's favored review software, book, and CRAM software. Hats off to them. Thank you for the help Jeff and the motivation from all! Keep reading, keep studying!
I know everyone says if I can do it anyone can. I don't know if anyone can pass the CPA exam, but with dedication, long hours at the library, and a little luck from above it is possible.
Take care,
Dan soon to be from New Jersey
Jeff or anyone that has had errors while taking the exam,
I took AUD yesterday and I had 2 errors while taking the exam. If I did poorly on the exam because of this, would they allow me to retake the exam?
Has anyone had this problem and called NASBA? If so, what did NASBA say?
What do you mean by errors? And how did you know that you did poorly?
If this is an incident, like fire alarm going off or network failure, you should report it at candidatecare@nasba.org or call the number in the bulletin.
I dont think retaking the exam (for free - i guess) is an option. But if you are sure you did poorly, just wait for your result and you can retake it.
Your options are either live with it, or sit again and not know your score from the exam you just took.

Congrats DM!

Is Wisconsin NASBA state? Which section was that? When do you think they posted?
Thanks in advance.
Yes, Wisco is a NASBA state, but they don't post any scores until they all are in for that wave.....I took BEC on 4/18 and they finally posted it today. I think we're one of the last states to receive our scores....I'm not sure if AUD, FARE, or REG have been posted for wave 1 in Wisco, but I just assumed. Good luck!
Weird thing is that I have talked to few people in OH who took AUD during 1st wave period and nobody's AUD score was released yet. So far, I have seen only one post saying he got the AUD score from OH. I feel like something is wrong wiht OH...
Planning (22-28%) my performance 88, passing performance 81
Int. Contr. (12-18%) my performance 82, passing performance 79
Information (32-38%) my performance 75, passing performance 81
Review (8-12%) my performance 81, passing performance 80
Communications (12-18%) my performance 66, passing performance 81
I ran some calculations and in all of them I should have passed using my scores and the passing performance as a 75, unless the the two sections I did poorly in were waited at the top of their range.
Has anyone ever come across a similar situation where they don't feel like they should have failed and did anyone ever take any steps to research it more?
I ended up paying the fee to have them rescore it, but what a surprise I ended up with the same score. I know some people say it isn't based on a curve, but it has to be.
I took my AUD on 4/21/2009 in CA. I didn't receive my result yet. Is something wrong with Auditing Gradign process on NASBA end? I rarely see posts related to result of AUD.
i took far today... i thought it was so much easier than reg (and i am a tax accountant... odd i know) from what everyone says, i thought far is supposed to be the killer of the four... unless i fell for the trick answer on every single mc :-/
i got aud left! is it true that its the easiest?
The order for me from hardest to easiest is REG, FAR, BEC, AUD.
BTW, I passed FAR and BEC on my first try with above 80 scores. Still waiting for AUD and REG. Confident on AUD but wondering my REG.
Can someone tell me if this has happened to them? I'm getting worried, I thought it was easy, but 2 hours early?
HELP!
I also got done with Audit super early. Was in and out in about 2 hours I think and ended up getting an 85.
Good luck!
I think the communication part is extremely important, and you did poorly in that section. The AICPA wants to make sure they have literate CPA's and scoring a 66 on the communication section probably really hurt your overall score. Just my honest opinion.
Good luck next time!
last test!
good luck to all of us!
My friend got a 74 on FAR. All the sections he scored between 85-80, except for GOV he got a 60. I think AICPA saw the 60 and failed him?
Is there a rule if one fails one subject, the person automatically fails?
http://www.cpa-exam.org/cpa/diagnostic_report_f...
Jeff
thanks in advance
yes - I bombed my 2nd sim on FAR...left three tabs blank including the research...I passed.
thanks in advance
You can do this - but it takes extra time to look it up and they want to see if you can *write* not copy and paste. I never used the research function for the written coms, but you are allowed to do so.
Even after my two 74s, I didn't appeal...I looked into it, but it's not worth it...it's best just to use a cram product and sit again.
I think the goal according to Yaeger (and others) is to be brief, concise, clear, and to the point. One should only use 3 or 4 well thought of sentences. Always be aware of who your memo is addressed to.
I am new to this website. I took my BEC exam a couple of days ago, and I don't know how I ran out of time. I didn't read about 7 questions but just took guesses on them. I thought I did fine on the other questions. I don't know if's it ok for me to think that I have a chance on passing, What do you think?
I agree with Jeff. You can't base your score off of the diagnostic score report that they give you.......i think it is just used as a general guide. This was my score report for REG that I just got back last week and I passed with a 79. I was even weaker in written communication and still passed. The report doesn't really reflect true performance in my mind.

Thanks!
@ Xavier - I was finished with AUD rather quickly as well and passed with an 87. But like I said, I am an auditor (have been for almost 4 years). I have heard others here say that they feel NASBA gives too much time for AUD in relation to the other sections.
I left FAR crying and 100% sure I failed cuz I left some tabs blank on my first sim. It was a topic I LEAST expected to be a sim! Thought I did average on the MCQ and ok on the second sim. Don't know how in the world they came up with an 83!
With AUD, felt pretty confident and barely passed. You just never know with these tests. Just took REG and I feel very confident with both sims but iffy with the MCQ. Hope I passed!
In my state, we get breakdowns only when you got wounded on the CPA exam battlefield.
I too left several tabs blank on my 2nd sim...I passed as well...although I feared I might fail because of it.
-Jeff
NY AL - If you have failed to pass a section multiple times using any one review course, it's time to try a different one.
Continuing to use the same review course again and again, hoping it will work this time, is kind of like watching the same feature film over and over and hoping the ending will change.
I don't know about Becker or Exam Matrix (see next post).
I've used the Gleim prep-test CD rom, and also the Exam Matrix materials. Personally, I liked Exam Matrix better because it suited the way I study better. Both programs allow you to take MCQs from selected study areas, or a random MCQ test across all areas.
Results? I could never get over the 71-74 hump with Gleim, but I passed REG, FAR & BEC first time using Exam Matrix.
I took all of the 4 hours 30 mins and got a 93, finishing early is no indication that you have aced a test.
D
I guess it goes to show that there is some luck involved in which questions you get on the CPA.
I had to delete every comment since 3pm or so...it was about 5 of them...nothing major I don't think...my apologies...just trying to make it a better site for everyone.
My IT person and I were tweaking things...thanks for everyone's patience...
-Jeff
maybe cause we're used to it now Jeff...
but all your attempt well appreciated
wonder where my reply to biff disappeared!
you know when i get back to India and after passing the Chartered Accountancy exams me too gonna start this thing like yours!
it's superbly helpful to 1000s of students... can't get better
AUD vs REG vs FAR:
I was depressed and angry after I took FAR. I was not able to finish the last simulation. I ended up getting an 80 or 82. Based on that, I feel more confident about my AUD and REG scores. However, I get a feeling that the FAR scores are adjusted a lot more than AUD and REG. The 'curve' for difficult questions is a lot more for FAR. Does anyone have the same thoughts after comparing how they felt and how they did between the three?
AUD:
Had plenty of time. Was even able to look up answers in research part of the simulations for the other tabs.
REG:
Do not feel as confident, but more confident than I did with FAR. I remembered approximately 60 MC questions in the exam and got about 75% of them right. I have know idea what that amounts to.
FAR - 86
BEC - 88
REG - 84
AUD - ?? :(
Based on prior test, it seems as thought the research portion of the simulations is 'free' point. When I took FAR this past Friday, however, I had issues with both research tabs. I pretty sure about one; however the other I was getting pressed for time and wanted to make sure I had a semi-correct answer. Do the answers have to follow the GAAP authoritative hierarchy? The one I chose was not the most authoritative, but it did answer what the question asked.
I know this is not a huge issues, but I just don't want it weighing on my mind...thanks in advance!!
all the very best too all of us.
On a brighter note - if anyone is near Dallas, NYC or Atlanta - the Becker "final review" is worth the time and effort, as is the CRAM from Yeager.......
I know you used Yaeger for REG - I just started studying. There's a lot of stuff in the Wiley book being skipped on the DVDs. Do you think Yaeger is enough for REG? Did you study any of the skipped material in Wiley? I am very happy with the Yaeger program - I've just never been a tax accountant!
Thanks!
I know you used Yaeger for REG - I just started studying. There’s a lot of stuff in the Wiley book being skipped on the DVDs. Do you think Yaeger is enough for REG? Did you study any of the skipped material in Wiley? I am very happy with the Yaeger program - I’ve just never been a tax accountant!
Thanks!
Good choice with Yaeger. As a rule of thumb - if Yaeger skips it - skip it...that's the benefit of the DVDs...you can focus on what they think will be on the exam. I passed REG and FAR with their HomeStudy - so I know it works. Guys like me don't score a 92 - so have faith in the REG course. You won't even need to read the Wiley book for B. Law...use the handout and only the handout...that's what I did. You should do well with Yaeger REG.
-Jeff
I don't have an opinion on them...I used Yaeger for REG and passed with a 92...that's all that I can tell you.
Good luck with REG...it's a beast.
You can just bookmark this page and check HERE 23 times a day for Jeff to report that the AICPA has released scores to NASBA.
THEN you can start paging the NASBA page every 7.5 minutes. :)
(Besides, it's a lot more fun to read the insanity from the rest of us while you're waiting.)
No worries...
You got me beat. I used Becker and score an 89 on REG. After the exam I felt really bad, but I was very happy when I finally saw my score report. I was suprised that I got an 89. Now if I do not pass FAR, I would be suprised. I will be very anxiously waiting for the exam report for another two weeks or so.
I have cleared my BEC, REG and AUD in the Wave 1 results and am awaiting for the FAR in Wave 2 anxiously...
I too used the Becker Materials and found the REG paper damn tough but to my surprise i cleared the exam... Thanks to the Becker material...
And I could complete AUD in less than 2 hours time and scored 82... I am extremely happy with my performance in AUD....
Tons and Tons of best wishes to all awaiting results with me and those who have already passed all...
Count down for FAR begins......
Thats good in theory, but my firm gives you the day off for cpa exams. When I finished I wanted to go right home and enjoy the day
Finished BEC in 90 minutes - I think I had myself coffee'd up a little bit, because I was slightly concerned about the time. The extent of my calculations required was not that severe, but a few of them did make me stop and think.
It is my first time to appear for CPA exam and I appeared for BEC exam., on May 18, 2009. I need to know that our scores are released at NASBA website on specific date i.e.; as prediction on this website is June 15, 2009 for wave 2 of April/May or exam score can be released any time for any student in any order?
Having the rest of the day off does make it tough to stay at Prometric!
I decided ahead of time how many minutes I was going to use for each testlet, then stuck to the schedule
Do you know the cutoff to take the exam for the July/ August window to qualify for Wave 1 results.
I saw someone else ask that question above.
Does anyone know it.
If you do please let us know.
Thanks
Ann
-Jeff
Do you have any idea why it would take more than two months to get my results? I took the AUD section on April 6, 2009 and still have not received my results. I should have received them in the first wave, but I have not. Is this possibly a bad sign? I just am really frustrated with this wait.
Thanks,
AO
I am getting neurotic waiting. Any thoughts?
I am also waiting I took FAR in GA on 4/24 and did not receive my scores either.. guess I am learning patience...
I also check my scores about 5 times a day..
I will be in BOSTON when scores are to come out. I dont' want to be that far from home when they are released... I want to celebrate
Thank you...I wasn't sure about the BEC HomeStudy length
i took REG on May 16.
i'm pretty sure whatever they've listed in the application form instructions is all we need.
http://www.nasba.org/862571B900737CED/0/860AA59...
Thanks Jeff.
Where did you hear that rumor? I would love to know if it is true.
I failed FAR in Jan, that was my very first Test. AUD was my second and I really need a pass.
I retake FAR on July 11th.
It's not true and I am addressing it and many other questions in my CPA Exam FAQ that will be out shortly. You can get it via Club 75 subscription or I'll probably sell it standalone for $5 or something.
It will be quality info and will help pay for site expenses.
out of curiosity, what is the difference between the AICPA and NASBA releases?
AICPA = official exam score report thru the mail
NASBA = preliminary score report via nasba.org
?
That would be great, but I would not hold my breath. Jeff has better contacts at AICPA and experience when doing his predictions. With my personal experience dealing with NASBA, I would believe Jeff or NASBA anyday.
They're just guessing...I said the AICPA would release (late) next week also...Friday or Saturday...I went with Saturday. It will only be BEC that's released next week...pretty confident of that one.
They don't know for sure until the AICPA actually releases them and even then, I get e-mails from someone who knows more than someone in the call center :)
I took REG two weeks ago (was it only two weeks???). I might have passed. Then again, I might have failed.
My debate is whether to buy the Wiley REG book at the retail price tomorrow from the out-of-town Barnes & Noble - and have my hands on it immediately - knowing that (if I passed REG) I could easily return the book to the local Barnes & Noble.
Or should I instead wait two more weeks for the REG scores to post and then (if I failed) order the book from Amazon at a discount - and wait another 5 to 7 days after then for delivery?
It's post-exam jitters and craziness.
I hate not having enough information to make a decent plan.
It just doesn't feel "real" yet though. I passed the other 3 comfortably, but my date with REG was pretty rough.
what size firm?
what market?
I work for a small firm, a government contractor who is a CPA with an inactive license. The owner is completing his current contracts and retiring. A new contractor who is not a CPA has opened another office nearby to take care of current and future projects.
My objective is to complete the CPA exams and start working elsewhere to get the work experience necessary for my license without taking too deep of a pay cut. My boss and I are looking at options.

Does anyone know of a product that checks for web updates, so I do not have to hit refresh a thousand times?
CPA WantaBE,
There is a product by the name "Internet owl". Read in this forum about someone using it.....
We'll know (through Jeff - TYVM Jeff) when AICPA releases the scores to NASBA. NASBA can't post any scores until after the AICPA does its bit.
California AICPA or NASBA? I took far in California on 5/30/09.
Thanks!
Don't skimp on the entity tax portion of the material.
- 43 almost positive right
- 17 almost positive wrong
- 12 don't remember
From my sample size that I remember that puts me at 71.67% of the MC right before difficulty rating.
If I give all the questions the same difficulty rating and apply the 71.67% to the multiple choice as a whole I have a score of 50 before difficulty weight and simulations. How should I feel?
That approach got me past the inter-relationships of GAAP accounting.
Correct. I think it's theoretically possible for them to give a law simulation but I don't know of anybody getting one before. I'm sure Jeff could confirm that for you though.
You can't leave anything out, the questions cover all the areas of law and tax.
D
- 43 almost positive right
- 17 almost positive wrong
- 12 don’t remember'
'How should I feel?'
Better than me, I was afraid to look up any of the answers after my exam otherwise I might cry. Ignorance is bliss. I usually don't remember the questions I could answer easily so maybe you got those 12 right and you will be ok. :)
D
i did get a simulation on law in REG...
was pretty surprised.
but luckily i had practiced on the Gliem online thing
I hope REG doesn't come out last again, I don't think I can wait that long.
D
It appears you got the same REG simulation I did.
Contrary to appearance that simulation is not FAR material at all, although it is similar to a FAR topic. I got my hands on a current WIley REG book and sure enough - there it was - in detail exactly like the sim question.
I also looked up the question in a Bisk REG book and got nowhere. BISK covered that topic more briefly than Becker did.
I went ahead and bought the Wiley REG book while I was on my road trip. Barnes & Noble e-mailed me a member discount coupon for in-store use, and it was burning a hole in my pocket. So I actually got the book for only about $5 more than Amazon's current price.
BTW, did you know that the Barnes & Noble member price for on-line purchase of the individual Wiley books is even lower than the Amazon price?
AUD - unknown (5/18/09)
REG - 78 (4/8/09)
FARE - 90 (2/7/09)
BEC - 87 (10/18/08)
As to whether I succeeded in passing, I'll know in about 10 days.
You're predicting the AICPA release of AUD to be "Tueday, June 16"
Lots of interesting things we can do with "Tueday." Today? Two-day? Too-day?
Sorry. The brain does funny stuff when it doesn't know what else to do.
Its nice to see that I have credit for three tests now. Hopefully 7 days until we hear about REG!
Also, I took REG on May 30...so I'm anxiously waiting for my score too.
I failed FAR in January. I took AUD April 24th and am waiting for my score and going bonkers just waiting.
I have rescheduled FAR for July 11th, but I am thinking of moving to the end of August so I dont have to wait so long for my score. I also want to take BEC the same day as FAR. Is that crazy? If I schedule for the end of August that would give me plenty of study time.
Any suggestions?
One question??? Why would you want to take BEC and FAR on the same day?
It is hard to get time off from work, and Saturdays are usually full.
I am assuming you think it is a bad idea.
My boss took all 4 parts in one week and passed, but I know I can't do that.
I definitely advise you to take them on seperate days, give yourself a break. You can do it but don't overload yourself, just my opinion...so you can maximize your rate of passing
I would suggest at least taking the exams a week apart. I think it would be just too stressful taking them on the same days and you won't have enough time to thoroughly review each section so that can cause additional anxiety. I understand that it's hard to schedule exams for Saturdays, but this is sitting for your CPA exam. This is NOT vacation. I'm sure your boss will understand if you explain the situation. Maybe you could sit on Monday mornings and then just make up the 4-5 hours throughout the week for him if he is unwilling to just give you vacation time. At least that way you have the weekend before to cram.
Best of luck and keep us updated with what you decide to do!!
REG - May 15
BEC - May 29
FAR - July 1
AUD - July 20ish
Your boss probably took all 4 parts of the exam in one week when it was DESIGNED to be taken all in one week, and only offered twice a year. That wasn't an accomplishment. That was just working within the old paradigm.
Now the exam is designed to be taken one part at a time, and each individual section is more concentrated. (You, too, have to walk to school barefoot, uphill 5 miles, both ways. You just take a different path.)
You would probably be better off working within the new paradigm.
Click back to page 1 just below the cram banner...that should take you to it.
Changes in the law and standards aren't testable until 6 months after-the-fact.
That would include changes in tax law. January 1 changes aren't testable until the July/August window.
Up to 6 per testlet on FAR, AUD, BEC
Up to 4 per testlet on REG
I personally took one part at a time, and when I finished each exam I was mentally exhausted. I can not fathom taking two in the same week, much less the same day.
REG - May 15
BEC - May 29
FAR - July 1
AUD - July 20ish
John, your schedule looks like mine!
REG - May 2
BEC - May 20
FAR - July 2
AUD - July 14
Like instead of finding out June 15ish, you find out the first week of June.
I would seriously pay 300. so even if i failed, i would get to adjust my work schedule accordingly.
June 9, 2009 at 2:05 pm
Up to 20% are pretest questions.
Up to 6 per testlet on FAR, AUD, BEC
Up to 4 per testlet on REG"
WOW !!! I really hope that all those questions I think I have done wrong for both FAR and BEC turn out to be pre-test questions ;-)
This is my last test and I want to pass on the first try, but am really getting tired of studying after over a year of working on the other 3 sections.
Thanks!
1. Get BECKER
2. Watch Lectures for chap 1 and take notes in book
3. Rewrite highlighted material in chap 1 in book on notecards
4. Review notecards for chap 1
5. Do chap 1 questions
6. Make additional notecards for missed questions for chap 1
7. Redo missed questions
8. Repeat steps for every chapter
9. After all chapters complete...practice simulations
10. Take Practice exam
Do all that...and you WILL pass.
Assuming you have gone through everything in your review material at least once, having worked all the recommended questions, homework, etc.
The week before the exam, make sure you know the concepts. Spend your time reviewing all your notes, charts, etc. whatever to have to help you pull everything together. Spend the last part of your review knowing something about everything as opposed to being an expert in some areas and knowing very little about others. Know the concept! You will find certain areas not tested at all, and other areas showing up repeatedly...so you never know what you're going to get. Good luck!
My short answer would be to get the Yaeger FAR HomeStudy if you don't feel comfortable with your current materials and then follow this article, which explains how I passed using the Yaeger materials and I use FAR as an example.

agree.
I feel like a kid watching for Santa and dreading the chance that my stocking will be full of coal.

Here is an interesting thread…. how much would you pay to find out your score 2 weeks early?
Like instead of finding out June 15ish, you find out the first week of June.
I would seriously pay 300. so even if i failed, i would get to adjust my work schedule accordingly.
agree.
I wouldn't pay $300, but maybe like $50? If it went over $100 I wouldn't do it.

***SIGH***
we will only end up spending much more than we normally do for the CPA study & exam.
This happens every couple of days, I'm guessing it is just for maintenance.
But, maybe it is for scores this time? Here's hoping
I am patiently awaiting the posting of the AUD score. I sat for the exam on April 7 and my score was not released during wave 1 - I am in Illinois.
I have been using Becker to study for the exam thus far, I actually received it for free through a scholarship that one of my professors nominated me for. I sat for BEC last November and got a 73.
Now I am seriously considering purchasing the Yaeger CPA Review program but am trying to decide if I should stick with the Becker and purchase only the CRAM, or should I go ahead and purchase the Yaeger CPA Review in its entirity? If I purchase the full review should I still purchase the CRAM? I would appreciate any feedback.
Thanks!
73. That's close. The decision to purchase Yaeger or stick with Becker would really depend on what your weak areas were. Your exam report should give you a clue. Were you weak in one area, or across the board? Was it because you took shortcuts in your review (then stick with Becker and do it right)? Or was it because you found Becker confusing (then consider changing)?
Now unlike REG, I thought Becker covered BEC is sufficient detail to pass easily, but one really had to do the entire program including ALL the supplemental material. I passed BEC on the first try. Waiting for REG score next week.
If you found Becker confusing I would suggest starting your plan to pass by going to the library or bookstore and flipping through a recent Wiley book (Yaeger uses Wiley books). See if there are explanations in Wiley that clear up what you struggled with in Becker.
But if you BUY the Wiley BEC book make SURE it is the 2009 edition, even if you have to order it.
Sat for FAR Oct 07. Passed first try. 78
Got pregnant Oct 07. Had already paid for BEC and AUD so I sat for BEC while pregnant without studying. Got a 65.
Had our sweet baby June 08. Started studying for Audit late September 08. Sat for Audit Nov 08 and passed first time with an 83.
Studied for BEC at about 85% effort. Sat for BEC Jan 09. Scored a 69.
While waiting for BEC score studied for REG and sat Feb 28th. Scored a 74.
FAR was expiring 4/30/09 so I had to sit for BEC and REG in April 09.
Got my results TODAY.......BEC scored 81.
REG.................74 again. I lost my credit for FAR all because I failed REG twice by ONE LOUSY POINT.
Today is my day to sulk. I begin studying again tomorrow.
I'm 38 with 2 teenage daughters, a wonderfully supportive husband, and an 11 month old baby.
ONE LOUSY POINT!!!!! Good luck to those waiting on scores. This website is the only thing that keeps me sane right now. It's good to hear that I'm not the lone ranger.
I passed BEC and REG so far and waiting for AUD score, which I took on May 27th. I am currently preparing for FAR, which is really the most difficult part for me. Is SFAS 141(R) the most important subject matter for the changes in FAR? Is there any other new subject matters in FAR for July/Aug window?
as far as my knowledge goes of the CPA test pattern it is of no use to concentrate on one important section of the syllabus.
the test will question you on your understanding of the concepts and the subject in its entirety no point doing selective studying.
all the best
-Jeff
when do you expect TX results for BEC?
-Jeff
2. CA/IL/TX/VA release according to their own schedule...completely up to them when they release once they have it...CA is very fast...others not as fast.
3. NASBA releases about 1-2 days later in the evening.
I check the NASBA site in Georgia, so I know mine is the NASBA release date.
That's all the help I can offer to this insanity of waiting.
The waiting is killing me!
Good luck to all.
Did anyone else get the survey? It is about the test-taking experience and how "fair" candidates perceive it to be. I found this encouraging, because up until now I have not seen that the AICPA is all that concerned with the candidates' perspective.
"How has FAR changed your life?"
http://www.cpanet.com/cpa_forum/forum_posts.asp...
"I used to be a happenin' dude like Ricky Shroeder from the Silver Spoons years that likes to go out to places and party. Now I got facial stubble, look like the Taliban, and have messed up hair and skin......."
There's plenty more. Enjoy.
I'm in a very similar situation. I'm currently waiting for 2 exam scores and if I don't pass I may lose my job. Talk about stress. I guess it could be worse.
I may have missed it but I assume you passed REG? I truly hope you get the result on FAR soon and that you are finished. The wait for my scores this time was brutal. Although I missed REG by one point I was pleasantly happy to pass BEC. For some reason that part was very difficult for me.
Let me know how you do. Congratulations on the birth of your child. I looked at our baby yesterday and told her that she is the reason I haven't passed the CPA yet....but she is worth every bit of pain this exam causes. I wouldn't change a thing. The CPA is a little fish in the grand scheme of things.
God bless!
I received that email, too, and I've only taken two parts of the exam. I don't think it means anything.
-Jeff
Yes - definitely. It may be the first place I post it if I'm away from my computer when I get the e-mail.
http://twitter.com/another71
I have a question. Does Indiana release their scores the same time as Illinois or before/after?
Thanks
http://www.another71.com/cpa-exam-weekly-june-1...
Thanks....
I just called them to check on another issue and it said that they were closed today for a company function. Does that mean we will probably see a delay until Tuesday for BEC since they are out today?
Thanks
Scott - I'll know more in a few hours I think...
Scott
Last window,i called up TSBPA and they said they dont release scores in weekends...I guess we need to wait till Monday/Tuesday..
Each time I log into the site, my heart palpitates. I slowly scrolled down to the bottom of the page to see the score... I held my breath the whole time!
That is precisely what happens to me "slowly scrolled down to the bottom of the page to see the score."
Like you, I am in CA, waiting on AUD, and it is my last section. Part of me wanting to know my score but part of me afraid of seeing anything less than 75 in the score... To keep sane in the mean time, I am trying to read the Professional Ethics for CPAs so I can take that exam in the next week or so...
Wishing we all pass so this torture can have an end date!
I think that is a very good idea to prepare for Professional Ethics. Are you taking live or self study corses? I am on dca.ca.gov website and I saw there are many course titles. Do we have to study them all or only choose one? Which one did you choose and study if you wouldn't mind? Thank you
http://www.calcpa.org/Public/Products/ProductDe...
I went to calcpa and bought the Professional Ethics for CPAs course. I include the link to the course, below. You only need to purchase the course (online or text book) and take the exam. The price includes the online exam fee.
http://www.calcpa.org/Public/Products/ProductDe...
Hope that helps!
I am not going to be sane after this.
What was the AICPA announcement at 3 pm CST??
BEC has been released by the AICPA.
CA/IL/etc will probably be getting them very soon. NASBA probably Monday evening.
What is your predictions on the release for audit? Same as your prediction above? Wasn't sure if you had any additional information.
On the other hand, I had an audit score show up at 8:30AM, out of the blue once, so I guess nothing is set in stone as far as the actual time of day Colorado posts. Try not to waste your weekend clicking away at the NASBA site - hopefully it stops raining and we can enjoy a beautiful Colorado weekend and get our minds off this insanity for a couple of days!
Good luck to all the BEC people!!!
I am now studying for my 5th attempt at AUD!!
AUD1=55
AUD2=66
AUD3=68
AUD4=71
FAR - 71, ???
REG - 70
AUD will be 7/16 and REG again on 8/29. Hopefully all I'll have left after that is BEC and that will be October.
Me too! Me too! Same question!
And is REG still on track to be the 2nd release, since it was 4th in March :( ?
SOME states may release tonight...probably closer to tomorrow (CA/IL, etc).
NASBA states will NOT be released tonight or tomorrow...probably Monday evening at the earliest.
Please understand this...I don't want people checking all night if they're a NASBA state and then yell at me :)
BEC will be out tonight
BEC has been released by the AICPA...California/Illinois will probably release them soon.
Any state represented by NASBA will NOT release scores until Monday.
Have a good weekend everyone.
-Jeff
hey Jeff jus said that nasba states will declare on monday!
so why the confusion of tonight then?
we all are!
obsessed, nervous & confused
REG 78
FAR 77
AUD 77
I'm just hoping I will receive lucky 2 points this time again.
By the way, I never worked in Accounting though I majored in Accounting! How long do I have to complete "Experience requirement" till the credits expire? Will it ever expire after I received all four credits? Anybody knows?
Thanks

Waiting on BEC and going nuts..
This is my third try (after two 74's).
BEC was the first section that I have passed with 75 and then it expired. I think that BEC section has gotten much tougher than when I first took in back in 2006.
I took AUD on April 3 and BEC on May 29, but I have not been able to get the scores yet. I can't wait to get the results. I called NASBA today and I was informed that I would not get the results until the end of June or middle of July. However, after seeing all your comments, I realized that I have been misinformed. That is truly a relief. I hope I pass these two exams, that way I will be able to say that I am half way through.
June 12, 2009 at 7:33 pm
I am so glad I found this website! I realize that I am not the only one stressed out waiting for my scores to be released. I have a full time job, two little kids and currently studying for FAR.
Jeny,
Just keep an eye out for Jeff's comments on when each section will be released. If you haven't figure out yet, Jeff is the one that runs this website (another71.com). Jeff does a great service to us CPA candidates having gone through the process by providing this blog to not only find out when scores are release but also to motivate each other to continue this journey if when one fails. Sounds like you received a generic response from NASBA. NASBA states usually runs a few days after the non NASBA States. If you didn't see Jeff's comment that BEC was released by AICPA this afternoon (not sure if this is 100% of all tested or not) and will not be posted on NASBA until after 9PM Monday night at the earliest. Like you I am waiting on AUD (took 4/21) and did not get my score in the first wave. You can look at Jeff's comments for when AICPA releases AUD and then add another day or two before NASBA post.
Good Luck on BEC and AUD. I too am currently studying FAR.
Can anybody help me about where can I check my result released by AICPA but not by NASBA.. I appeared from Colorado Board for all 4 exams from May 21..
AUD (75*, 65, 65, 65, 79)
FAR (64, 65, 71, 75*, 81)
REG (56, 74, 65, 65, 74, 79)
*expired
Sat for BEC on 5/28th and I really need to pass it to end this exhausting and miserable journey!!
Good Luck on your BEC! I hope this ends your Journey!
I so hope i feel the same happiness on Monday!!
Congrats to all who passed!
June 12, 2009 at 9:44 pm
HI.. Its really very very helpful to have we page lke this for CPA students like me.. I am so relaxed to see all of you out here waiting very much like me for the results..
Can anybody help me about where can I check my result released by AICPA but not by NASBA.. I appeared from Colorado Board for all 4 exams from May 21..""""
RE: above :-
Amit, Colorado is a NASBA state. You can check the BEC results online on Monday evening, EST at the following link:-
http://nasba.org/nasbaweb/NASBAWeb.nsf/wpes?ope...
NASBA states usually release results 2-3 days after AICPA releases them. Good Luck !
Thank you, Jeff, the website is wonderful and you score predictions kept me from going nuts while waiting!
Any suggestions on why the page will not refresh??
All of my scores (from CA) were posted at 6:00 am. Two of them came on Saturdays, never on Sunday, though.
Jeff thank you for an amazing website!!!
"Anxious" - go to your client account - status tab and scroll down the page to "Application Status Information" you will see the score there. Since it is an advisory score, they have put it here. All the Best!
I feel exact the same when I check my score online. I feel my breath is stoped. I sat AUD which is my last section on 4/1/09 and still waiting. I assume my score will be available on 6/16/09 but now I am wondering if I will have the courage to know my score. I have teken AUD four times: 67, 73, 69 and the one I am waiting.
Wish we will pass this time around.
Nothing so far! I am assuming we will get it on Monday or Tuesday. MD, tends to release the scores late.
I find it hard to blive that U didnt know the passing grade was 75....
Hope it helps...

*I am waiting for FAR result - Delaware state. Anyone got FAR result in Delaware state!
I'm not a resident of US, but I need the CPA for my career in my country as a preferred qualification. I am a California candidate now. My question is, in general; do I receive any type of certificate or document if i only passed the 4 exams WITHOUT the ethics exam or any other requirement? In general and CAL in particular if you have that piece of info pls.. Thanks in advance.
You really should get new material, because there are many, many differences between 2006 and present.
Also, if you had Becker materials in the past, you can purchase the updated materials for 1/2 price btw.
Good luck to everyone waiting and congrats to everyone who passed!
I really like how you are updating the predictions with what has been released so far - great idea!!
Thanks for such a wonderful website.
Scores for WA candidates are released on their own board's website usually released at the same time as Cal/Illnois. You receive a email when your score is available but sometimes it takes a while for the email to go out so you should keep checking the website. They don't usually release the scores at the weekend though.
D
Jeff: your website is very clear. Just that your predictions are so close, between 1-2 days, which just drives folks nuts.
i hope u become a millionare-you deserve it
"some one" is just happy to have passed, and I think he or she feels that this is the only forum where people would really appreciate his accomplishment...however, there are a lot of people who are frustrated by the exam on this forum, and his/her intent might have been misunderstood as bragging.
Dont worry all, we will all be CPAs one day
I think Becker is good enough for FAR. And you probably don't have so much time to study both.
I have the 2009 Wiley book for FAR and there are two Module 16's. One is for 141 and the other is for 141R.
Thanks so much Jeff for this site!! It gives me sanity to know there are so many others out there like me.
I, for one, think you guys should cut "some one" some slack.
It's not like he (or she) rubbed it in anyone's face. Simply stated that he (or she) passed all 4 exams in 4 days, sandwiched between very positive comments of the site and the atmosphere - not derogatory toward anyone else in any way.
Don't bring down someone else's success because you haven't experienced the same.
some one faster
some one better
some one happier
we should all strive to be that some one.
sometimes the journey is more important then the destination.
Moreover,Thanks for letting us know about yaeger...!!
You're right that TX needs an extra day. How did you know that? I was looking forward to knowing my score....one more day!
Thanks both, I will plan to do so, I have passed AUD with 2006 material this year (2009) and now waiting for FAR result and Inshallah I pass. Regarding BEC and REG, definitely i will buy new material since there are many changes as JP said....!
Not sure, In 2010 BEC exam will be added a simulation (Not sure) as some friends saying, and some other friends saying that only writting communication will be added to the BEC exam.
I'm waiting on BEC myself, though if I find I passed, it won't be any great cause for celebration. #1, it's a Monday, and #2, I will still have FAR and AUD hanging over my head.....lol
Wow what a wait this is unfortunately it seems like some people are caving under the pressure and using others to vent their frustrations. I really appreciate this site to help pass the time while I wait I just wish I didn't have to read all the negative comments. I wish you could filter out the little cat fights since none of us need any extra tension in our lives right now.
I think the person is simply being happy.He/She has not said anything that people should take personally! He/She may have studied for years maybe, before taking all of them during 4 days.So what.Let the person be happy, and lets be happy too when we get our scores.
Goodluck everyone,Including me :))
I understand what you're saying, but there's no way that I can filter out "negative" comments. If people resort to name calling or something, then I'll delete it, or if someone is "trolling" and looking for trouble, then I'll ban them.
99% of the comments on here are fine...the other 1% are viagra spam that gets caught in my spam filter. :)
-Jeff
Right now, I am doing the live review class with Becker in Miramar on Saturdays (all day)for FAR. I scheduled FAR for Aug 28! However, this is my first time taking these exams and this wait is killing me. I need to know if I passed AUD and BEC. If I did, I feel like it will be an incentive to push myself even harder to study for FAR. I think of my two little ones all the time. I can't wait for this to be over to be able to spend more time with them!.... This is truly a test of endurance, willpower and perseverance!!
Every single day, I go to NASBA to check my scores and nothing! Well, as soon as I get the news (hopefully good), I will let you all know. I think this is a great website to movitave others. Congratulations to all those who have passed all parts! It is quite a huge accomplishment!!!:)
(((HUGS))) to those like me who are still waiting.
My part is AUD. Took 04/24/09. Still waiting....
You think it will be better to check tomorrow am for BEC from a Nasba State (Georgia) or check tonight after 8 to 12? I am bout to go crazy waiting, last part, and failed with 72 last time, second time around I hope is the charm.
Thanks.
why does TX take longer than other states since it releases before NASBA?
Even though the Texas State Board has shocked me over the years with their complete lack of understanding and/or ignorance to anything related to the CPA exam, I wouldn't hold my breath for the scores to be released tomorrow morning.
i've seen a lot of comments of different states releasing at different times, with even one releasing both wave 1 & 2 at the same time instead of separately. but, i haven't seen any comments on HI (nasba state), does anyone know about how they typically release scores or if there's anything unique with them?
any info would be appreciated!!
Mama needs a passing grade on REG. Last one!!
I want my score!!!

I am anxiously waiting for FAR. 2nd time taking it. Last night had a horrible dream of scoring a 56. """"
Welcome to the group ! I dreamt of getting a 25 on BEC............
Good luck to all, I'm impatiently awaiting an AUD bundle of joy!
I'll think of something.

Thanks for the advice, good luck.
With many thanks from all of us!
With many thanks from all of us!
No problem...it's fun. I do spend about 25 hours a week on the site, if you can believe that.
Feel free to buy my kids a beer. I mean coffee. I mean apple juice. There we go.
If you call customer service they can extend it if your last section is scheduled. I sent them my Prometric receipt and they gave me registratrion up until test day.
Thanks! Anyone know of an easier way to print the questions for review without clicking on each one?
Please - no postings about getting around the expiration...I will have to delete it.
I anticipate hearing something today...no promises though...

Just got my score for BEC in NH!!!! I passed with a 79!!! I am sooo happy, especially since I had dreams of a 69 all last night!
...I actually laughed out loud at my desk when I read this comment
And lol to Jeff's complete ignoring of the obvious, u guys always keep me smiling :)
Now, I took FAR on April 3rd and REG on May 16, haven't gotten either score yet. Am I looking to get both of those on the same day as well? PS I'm in NC, we only get scores in the mail, and I have no idea what yall are talking about with NASBA vs AICPA states...
Thanks man
I know the score I had in my dream last night sounds funny..but let me tell you waking up every hour thinking of below 75 was not fun!
im in ny and im a newvous wreck
I am starting to think that maybe the BEC portion IS MUCH HARDER than we all first thought after seeing the posts so far... Looking at the scores that have been posted on here since Saturday, I just happened to notice that only one person has reported higher than an 87. I realize that this forum is not a good sample of the entire testing population, but I still found that interesting.
Good luck to the rest of us still waiting for our results!!!
I'm fighting with NASBA and Prometric to let me re-take the exam for free in the event I failed b/c of the chainsaw noise problem at the testing site. Has anyone heard of special circumstances where they let you re-take the exam again at no charge?
I think all of the sections are probably pretty tough, but I wouldn't necessarily say BEC is the hardest. My first exam (REG) seemed harder (waiting on that score), and I studied far less for BEC and found I got an 88 Saturday. But, I also had a few extra finance classes in college, so maybe that made it easier for me?
Just my thoughts
Question for you.
I'm from Georgia, do credits expire after you have taken and passed all four sections? I still have education requirements to meet and I was wondering.
Thanks
All Hail The Mighty Jeff.
I got lucky I guess, as there were no windows in my testing center, so it was fairly quite, but man it got hot in there towards the end of the test (10:45 pm) because the air turned off and those computers had been on all day.
No interest in ever putting a chat room on your site?
They do have a chat option where you can speak to a rep and just ask them on the website what has come in. It's annoying but fortunately the people at the board are really helpful.
1)FAR (amt of material is overwhelming) took 2x
2)REG (and I even had a little tax experience) took 3x
3)BEC (lots of calculations but no sims) took 2x
4)AUD (waiting on score...but seemed the easiest material and exam)took 1x
I’m about to pass out from the waiting and the anticipation!!! FAR MD = Thursday or Friday? I vote for Today~~
I hear you on that! I'm here in MO waiting in anticipation. This will hopefully be my last exam!
that would be very lame to say you passed before you got your score.
but now it's creeping in... the whole anxiety and restlessness...
gosh can't wait to see all of my results and fly back to india....
How does this happen? Did i take a new simulation and they have to wait for all score to "curve" because there is no historical data?
Are we anticipating Reg or Aud today?
I thought Aud came out before REG, like in Wave 1.
Is the order different for wave 2 ?
Thanks
D
It's a brush-off reply straight out of the undergrad marketing textbook.
However, I also am despairing of anything happening today.
The State of Arizona is a state located in the southwestern region of the United States.Arizona was the 48th and last of the contiguous states admitted to the Union on February 14, 1912, the 50th anniversary of Arizona's recognition as a territory of the United States. Arizona is noted for its desert climate, exceptionally hot summers, and mild winters and John Mc Cain.
AICPA releases to everyone...NASBA represents most states...CA/IL/VA/TX etc release on their own websites.
Once the AICPA releases...everyone is on their own according to who represents them...
J/K...someone has to disagree though...
I have to agree with this

I salute you AICPA ppl.,

I've learned that sharing a sniff of info causes people on the public posts to go crazy if it doesn't come to fruition, so I will wait until I get another update.
However - I do share it with the Club 75 people.
Once I get confirmation that something is absolutely going to happen, I share with the rest of the class.
Is is a reason to subscribe to Club 75? no. Is it an added perk? yes.
I figure that if someone is financially helping the site, I'll pass on every tidbit that I know with the caveat that it's still unconfirmed.
I got a sniff tonight, but some things are up in the air still so I will wait until I know for sure.
I did up the price...my time and advice is worth a latte a week, I think.
Subscribe if you want...if you don't think it's worth it, no worries either. Some will...some won't.
Thanks for reading.

If anyone subscribed and felt it was a scam....I would refund their $$$ no questions asked...
too bad studying wasnt as interesting as getting your score.
I would spent three hours checking your site yet I have a hard time watching a lecture for 30 minutes. go figure.
=(
But this is just my .02 worth.
This is the 3rd blessed time I have taken REG and I want to know if I can expect my score on Wednesday! (I have my yearly review then!)
AUD=72
BEC=????
I took all four exams (waiting on AUD) and felt that all the sections were tough. I did not feel any part was any easier than the other...
No AUD in CA yet!
I am hoping I am seeing a pattern:
AUD Feb 2009 81
REG Apr 2009 82
BEC May 2009 83
FAR Jul 2009 84??????????
Thanks. As for studying, I just used Becker and followed their suggested plan as much as possible. I just graduated, so most of it was still really familiar to me. Because I just graduated and don't start work until September, I can pretty much study as much as I feel like studying every day. The process for me was about 2.5 weeks (3 or 4 hours MAX per day...sometimes less). I didn't really see anything in Becker that I wasn't already AT LEAST relatively familiar with, so that was also a plus.
Good luck to you and everyone else with the whole process!
any hope of AICPA releasing any scores tonight?
Basically do you expect to get an email this late?
Thanks
I am an international student and took BEC on 5/26 thru CO jurisdiction. I can't seem to find my score on NASBA site - do you know if they are still posting or they don't post scores of international students on NASA?
Any idea?
Cheers
1. hit control+F5 to clear your cashe
2. re-enter your session ID and date of birth
Hope that works!
Good riddance, CPA! :)
I cleared cache and tried using all the different web browsers - but no luck...any suggestion to check BEC thru CO?
Thanks again..
Do you know anything about Wisconsin BEC scores?
Thanks for all your help. I got my BEC score (87). Great stuff and this site is just too good to be true..
cheers
My $.02
Hang in there. I got a 72 on bec my first time, took it again and passed with a 76. You were close take it again in July while material is fresh
Just got my CO score for BEC awhile ago. 94%! The exam is DONE!!
Thanks again Jeff for the great website. Good luck to those continuing on the horrible path this exam makes for us. Just remember, nothing worth doing is ever easy. Or, as Winston Churchill said: "If you are going through hell, keep going."
I am going to drink a beer, goto bed, then goto work tomorrow and hope to land a public job this fall. Good night and god bless!
I hope that will not be the pattern for wave 2... Seeing so many good news, just want to find out if I am done or back for more punishment!
Congratulation for the BEC, may be you can help me in BEC since i am planning to attend the exam in Nov09. Which material did you use? which year eddition (e.g. 2006 or 2009)? any other advice!
Take care and which you all the best with other exams.
Nash
hoping i do not have to take this again
! I'm on vacation and now there is no way I'm going to get back to sleep!
TX board is this insensitive????!!!!!GOSH.
There is still hope!
Passed BEC 82 in Georgia. Have now passed all four parts. Thanks to you, Jeff, for an amazing website. Good luck to everyone still studying.
Still "Active Testing!
Whats happening. This is driving me crazy.
Recd the email just now.
Cant wait like this :(
WI waits until they have all scores in a wave for all sections, therefore we will be the last ones to receive our scores. It is very frustrating, but I've learned to just sit here and cheer on everyone else hoping they get there scores early so that I will get mine soon also.
If I say it on the public board (i.e. here) it's gospel. I pass along every little tidbit to the Club 75 subscribers...there's no crazies in there that will start calling me names if it doesn't end up happening. :)
It seems like all the posts on this webpage are about score releases. I'd actually like to hear about people's frustrations with the exam, with studying, etc. Everybody knows the score release process sucks. Not everybody grasps the ins and outs of the whole experience of studying successfully or unsuccessfully for this exam.
"Congratulations on successfully completing all sections of the Uniform CPA Examination. A package of material is being mailed to you. When you feel you have met all requirements for certification, you should complete and submit the forms in the package.

Mark - find the website named CPAnet Forum, and look for the thread under FAR called "How has FAR changed your life?"
Here's a sample:
"My sister saw me and said I look like my only asset is a shopping cart.
I'm doing Becker. Their schedules are insane. I'm not sleeping well, I broke out in shingles, and the freezer keeps making a noise that forces me to wear ear plugs (which I never noticed till now). My living/dining area is 'the war room' and I sit at from 9-9pm.
I had to get rid of the boyfriend because he didn't have a 'self entertaining' skill set. When family calls, I put the phone on intercom and continue making flash cards while their words float off into the universe. I say "really?" now and then and keep studying.
I planned for this financially so I don't have to work. I can't imagine trying to do this while holding down a job, raising children, or having to interact with another human in a civil manner.
And I graze while studying. So thats 11-13 hours of hand to mouth motion... lets do the math... yea, thats some tonnage."

any news as to when we can get audit scores from colorado.....i have taken audit exam on 04/13/2009 but till now, i have not yet got the scores..

Can please someone answer my following question....
any news as to when we can get audit scores from colorado…..i have taken audit exam on 04/13/2009 but till now, i have not yet got the scores..

I used the yeager cram and it helped me to understand the big picture other than just the bits and pieces I got from the Becker questions. They use Wiley so I just went through the questions they said to look over. I don't think I would have passed without that cram.
I'm a MD'er and I have always received scores the same day as IL and VA candidates. It's been my experience that we usually receive our email that our scores are available to be viewed earlier than most other states. That being said...come on REG!
I took the AUD-CO on April 3 and still haven't received anything yet.
I can feel your pain.
I just call NASBA regarding the Auditing scores of CO. The person from NASBA told me that if I haven't received my scores on July 15th then I can call her again. I am so frustrated now.
According to Jeff's prediction, CO will release AUD's scores on this Wednesday. Let hope we can received our scores this time.
i used cram this time for bec..and i am yet to find out the outcome..
Congrats to all who passed and those who didn't -- try, try and you will succeed
Ar your predictions still valid? Or do we need to move them all up 1 day? As REG was not released yesterday.
Just my updated prediction...we'll know more today I think.
I think the site being down is a good thing. I think once it comes back up again, it will be updated with scores. Its almost over
I am using Becker. I got my BEC score last night. I scored a 93. I scored a 97 on REG. In my brief experience, its seems that if you put the time in you will pass using Becker.
I used Becker exclusively for a little under three weeks while partially still in grad school-made an 86. I did not have any flashcards and I skipped one lecture. It was more than enough info to pass the test. If you do not know what XBRL is then you should read up on that.
On the top of this page, there are predictions for the April/May 2009 Wave 2 CPA Exam score release
Thanks Jeff.
Good luck to all! Heres to scores rolling out in the next few days!
June 16, 2009 at 10:03 am
Bump REG and AUD to Thursday pm for NASBA.
Just my updated prediction…we’ll know more today I think.
They should just go ahead and bump FAR to the head of the line! C'MON FAR!!!
1) People who come on and say "When is XXX coming?!". Jeff is a civilian like you and I. He may have a great connection with the AICPA, but he DOES NOT know exactly when they are coming out and you can clearly read his predicitons at the top of the page. He is very cordial about updating us whenever he gets info, just do a quick scroll up and look for his posts.
2) People who cannot be bothered to simply read the past 10 posts. AICPA states/NASBA states are clearly written out (if not in this thread, in the wave 1 prediction thread). Do some reading. Don't bother Jeff, he has a real job, a wife and kids. Then you complain about him charging $20 for a VIP type of service.
Sorry to rant, but I'm irked about the amount of time I have been waiting for my last grade too. If you have a question, simply do a little homework and read a couple posts. If your question is still unanswered, then go ahead and ask, but please, for my sanity and Jeff's, don't ask rediculous questions that have already been answered/cannot possibly be accurately answered.
you mean you received your REG CA score? or you are hoping for it? your post is vague! i thought you got it until i read @jenny and now i'm not so sure anymore!
Good luck to everyone waiting!! I hope we pass!
When I hear anything...I will post it here asap...and also send out an e-mail to the Club 75 people...it's just a little added value to the service.

All that being said, thank you so much Jeff for providing this forum. It is such a great resource and we appreciate it!

I subscribed to Club 75. How long will it take for me to receive a password?
Also if my state does mail when should I receive BEC scores?
haha...perfect response to that.
(btw - someone called me a &^^$%## &*##*&^^ and told me to**#% #%@^#^)
I subscribed to Club 75. How long will it take for me to receive a password?
There was one person whose e-mail kept getting sent back...e-mail me please...
another71cpa@gmail.com
Your like some sort of CPA rockstar!
You probably just got a new simulation which would put you in Wave 2...we'll know more about AUD today hopefully.
-Jeff
i have a coworker who didnt get his in wave 1 either. typically it means that you had a new simulation and it takes longer to grade so they push your results to wave 2.
Scores are released between 8PM & Midnight. Automated process. Good ol' Jeff here got the AICPA to bump the score releases to the front of the que a little while back.
Forgot to mention...
Scores go from the AICPA to NASBA to YOU. So you have to wait on the score release not only from the AICPA but also your state board.
Hope that helps a little...
Also if my state does mail when should I receive BEC scores?
Do we know if AICPA released the scores (REG - AUD) to NASBA yet?
Because if AICPA did not release them to NASBA yet, there's no point in keep checking if NASBA updated the scores, as they haven't even received them yet.
http://www.illinois-cpa-exam.com/files/scorerel...
Does this mean FAR will be next??
FL hopefull REG is right on the money! Pretty much how it goes is Jeff will post when AICPA releases, then you'll see a bunch of posts from people getting their scores in different states.
Still waiting for my Reg result in texas also.
Hoping for a mircale with FAR
i lost AUD in FEB due to the 18 month rule so i know it sucks. but i seem to be on a role now, BEC and FAR passed in Feb and April waiting on REG score that i took in May.
For Wave 1 - they released one of them (AUD I think) around 8pm CST.
THE AICPA JUST RELEASED REG
THE AICPA JUST RELEASED REG
THE AICPA JUST RELEASED REG
THE AICPA JUST RELEASED REG
Is it safe to assume then, that they will not release AUD today, based on what you have seen in the past?
Or is there still any chance for AUD release today?
Thanks
For KY, does that mean the State Board will update their site tomorrow morning?
Thanks and good luck!
Does this mean , that we will not see AUD today, since they have released REG today? Do they usually release 2 sections on the same day?
Pleaaaaaaaase reply .
Thanks
Makes me not want to answer the question.
I called them Monday morning to see what the deal was and she said they had only received a portion of the BEC scores. She said they usually get them in really early in the morning or late at night and they try to update as quickly as possible.
She will usually post an update about which scores they've received under "CPA Exam News" on the homepage of http://cpa.ky.gov once the results have come in. I usually look there before I get too excited entering my number and last name.
All that being said, I hope they're updated tomorrow morning but I'm not going to hold my breath. I don't trust anyone whose office hours are 8:30 to 4:30.
it is all good.
good luck to all who is waiting for their scores.
you're joking bout gettin the FAR score right?
Jeff,,, and i mean the Real Jeff... lol
kindly clarify what is going on?
and which is the next score to be released by a nasba state?
cause the more you clarify the more some people mess it up.
You know it's from me if it has my gravatar image.
NASBA REG...maybe tomorrow...probably Thursday
IL people...expect it tomorrow - not tonight...CA people and others...no idea yet
Did you say that the wave 1 Audit scores that have not been posted yet were released by the AICPA to NASBA on Friday?
Thanks.
I'm not releasing them because I thought AUD was boring and I am making all of the AUD people suffer. Actually, I just released them to Alabama and Mississippi. And North Dakota.
The rest of you will have to wait until Thanksgiving where I pop out of a giant turkey wearing a pageant sash and present you your score and a diagnostic, which will tell you absolutely nothing. For fun, I will put that you scored a 99 in all areas, but your cumulative score was a 43. Psychometrics...you know how it goes.
I will also leave presents for Christmas for efficiency's sake...as well as some toothfairy money for little Johnny.
I will repeat this 9,000 times on Thanksgiving day and be back home in time to watch the Lions and Cowboys play in their matchups against bad teams that no one would watch otherwise - except it's Thanksgiving Day.
Any predition? Today or tomorrow?
Common AUD :-)
what time period does this Reg release cover? i took REG on 5/11 in California. at this rate i might receive my REG score before AUD (4/3).
All kidding aside, thanks for everything you're doing here. I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say it is greatly appreciated.
re:VA - they're independent...no idea what they might do...hard to say
AUD? I'll predict AICPA release tomorrow...a day later than I originally predicted...just like REG
Have a good night everyone.
CA does release the score in the middle of the night accroding to my experience. One time, I checked my score at 11:30pm on Saturday and there was nothing. Next morning, the score was posted.
I'm pretty sure that's what it is. If I'm wrong, corrections welcomed. I'd hate to give out bad information.
I was just like "Nate the Great" when it comes to REG. I thought for sure that I failed it. I finished my last tab on my second sim with 7 seconds left. I was so sure I failed that I almost started studying for it again. When I got a 91 in WAVE 1 I was more dumbfounded than excited (although the excitement did come).
Moral of the story......don't give up and don't give in. It ain't over until the fat lady sings.........and when she does, there is always the next window =).........Good Luck to all.
I was in a similar situation during the last wave (provisional status or whatever it's called). I sent my final transcript in and it took about a week and half have the account updated so that you're able to see results online. Hope that's what you're asking
Once the ILBOE receives your transcript, they will process it immediately. My school sent my transcript and my score was available two days later. However, it may take longer if they are dealing with all these score releases???
what state are you in? cuz you must be in a time zone thats 3 days ahead!. i wanna live there.
Knowledge behind the grading system applied to the exams is up there with the nuclear launch codes, imo. It's best to not think about it.
http://www.cpa-exam.org/download/How_the_CPA_Ex...
Thanks for all of the information you provide to us. I found this website several weeks ago and enjoy popping in now and again. Especially when scores are predicted to be released.
I took Audit in Illinois on 4/7/09 and didn't receive my scores in Wave 1, so I am anxiously awaiting Wave 2 release. I was praying for tonight, but I will not so patiently wait until tomorrow and hope for good news.
Good luck everyone!
P.S. I know this is off topic, but I can't stop wondering.
Good luck everyone!
Now I'm waiting on my last exam (AUD) and I can't believe I've made it this far. It's been a long journey for me and so many others. I'm truly humbled. Hopefully this is my last night of no sleep waiting for results. Fingers crossed!!
nasba really takes long
MY guess is for AUD-NASBA-WI is on Fri.
ZZZZZzzzzz
Sleepless in CA
This made me laugh like anything...Seriously..No offense meant..but just a friendly laugh!
Jeff...u r awesome...Thanks a lot for all the help&support!!
June 16, 2009 at 11:36 pm
There is such thing as Wave 2.5???
That is when the score is really close to 75 and it needs extra review.
I got the short end of the stick on my simulations - they were both on the SAME topic!! (Can you believe it? I've never heard of that!) Unluckily, it wasn't one of the easy topics that I had done many sampe simulations on - it was one of the areas that Becker had NO SAMPLE SIMULATION on, and it wasn't even something that I focused on too heavily! I'm still hopeful for a 75, but I can envision that 69... they say that scores are high on REG...
anyone received mail from NH ?
Jeff, great website!
I love this site, it makes me laugh when I read peoples reactions.
"BEC – 99% of total BEC exams taken June 13, 2009
FAR -- None
REG – 99% of total REG exams taken June 17, 2009
AUD – None"
So I assume NASBA states should be able to see REG 8-12 on Thursday.
You're predictions, which are fantastic and pretty darn accurate, are about a day ahead of schedule. Would it be prudent to add one day to the preceding AUD and FAR predictions? Does it typically follow in suit with the other release dates?
One to go!
Thanks for the website & predictions. Gotta say I am amazed with the accuracy and wish I understood the scoring process like you do.
Do you have any updates on when NASBA states will release audit scores?
Anxiously awaiting audit score in MA!!!
go to the NASBA website then go to scores, click your state. if it has you entere your section ID and date of birth your score will show up there, otherwise it will tell you where to go to get your score.
Sorry, I know this is long, I just wanted to let people know that there is hope no matter how bad you feel you did!
No, that'll just show you if you passed without any details. To get the actual score, log in, click "manage my account" on the left menu bar, click the "start" button, and then click "edit" at the top of that box in the middle of the page right above your license number. Your score should be listed there (after it's released, of course).
I don't know why the score information isn't posted in a place that's easier to get to but that's the VA BOA for you.
I'm waiting for AUD too! Hope you find out some good news soon!
Anyone know when NASBA posts NJ???
Maybe there is hope for me too. I as well took the Reg around same time as you 5/14, and was totally blown away by one of the sims, I had probably the same one u did. I am still waiting for my score - to be (hopefully) released tomorrow evening.
Congrats, I'm hoping my REG experience ends the way yours did. I took the test on the 20th and felt like I bombed it after being slammed on the first simulation on a combination of 2 areas that Becker lightly touched through MC's but presented no sims on. In addition, I heard and read that most people never received questions on these two items. I was able to complete the memo and research tab. But I know I lost points on the actual calcs. The second sim seemed better, however I was mentally exhausted and frustrated by the first sim.
As for the MC's, each sim definitely got harder, the first took me 20 minutes, the second and 3rd took 35 and 40 minutes. So, who knows. It's my last exam and hoping this is over.
Waiting for REG - anyone got the score in New York yet?
.............Hi
Gotta get back to work! (novel concept, right?) :)
Thanks so much for this website--really appreciated all the info and support. Good luck to everyone still working on it!
I have a theory...the more you study, the lower your grade goes. I didn't even finish the Becker book for my first FAR and scored higher than REG even though I worked my behind off for that test. I'm worried about this FAR because I studied even more for it. :(
I am a CPA now
Hopefully I will get AUD score tomorrow which I took on 4/17/09.
If I pass AUD, I am done with CPA exam!
June 17, 2009 at 9:51 am
I think the rumor is AUD is being released tomorrow. Look for Jeff to confirm later.
Does it mean that the score will be posted to NASBA website on Friday?

Congrats to all those candidates that just passed their respective sections of the CPA exam, and for those who are still biting their nails waiting, i'm with ya. I took Reg May 11 and I walked out knowing that I bombed it. The three MC testlets got progressively harder, so I spent more time than anticipated. The SIMS were a complete drain. I left most of the tabs blank. Only did the written and the reesearch tab completely. I am hoping that somehow someway I pulled a miracle on this section. In fact, I have already started studying for it again. I passed AUD and BEC in the first window 2009. Maybe my luck has ran out. This is going to be a long day!!!!!
D
Good luck everyone!!! Thanks Jeff for this site, it really helps us :-)
So be hopeful : )

Only a few more hours!!!! OMG, I think I might puke.
can someone plz tell me when i would be able to see Audit score from Colorado.....I took the exam on 04/13/2009.
Thanks

Thanks so much for your response! I would have to say that make sense.
I might be able to keep lunch down now...haha! Thanks again!

"For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, WE WAIT FOR IT PATIENTLY."
I am in the same boat as everyone else is right now, I want to see a 75 for AUD!! Just be patient and everything will work out just like it suppose to!!
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Hahahaha...........I can not stop checking!
This is so sick......
Have you heard anything about AUD being released from the AICPA?
As a favor to other .. what about FAR?
I am not sure I can fully answer your question, but I can tell you that I passed both BEC and FAR without having fully studied all the sections. I also passed FAR without thinking I did well on one of the simulations.
BUT - I am in the same boat as you. I am waiting for REG and I felt siked about the multiple choice and disgusted with the Sims. I will let you know how I did tonight......
Anyone know?
I saw Jeff mention to expect scores starting 8pm central. Is it still safe to hope for NASBA REG release tonight? Thanks!
Unless you're borderline pass/fail you should get your AUD score when everyone else does. If you took your exam late May you should expect to be in the next release of AUD scores. There are 2 main waves and a "2.5" for some test-takers with borderline pass/fail scores.
The state you took the test for will also have an impact on when you get your score. Certain states, like CA and IL, don't use the NASBA website for score release so they get their scores a day or two ahead of states that use NASBA for score release. What state are you testing to get licensed in?
Yes, I took REG 5/29, and also did the Becker Review and Becker final review. I studied like a demon, and did each simulation question at least twice. The simulations they asked on the day came from nowhere. Becker were so far off the mark its scary.
I'm praying for you guys, pary hard for me!!!
June 17, 2009 at 11:42 am
So has anyone been able to pass a section when they know they didn’t do well on either simulation
I am not sure but I will let you know tonight. I am certain I bombed both REG SIMS. It sucks because I really studied the material well. I would hate to have to repeat that section, but that's the way the cookie crumbles when your "ON YOUR WAY TO A CPA"!!!!!
So - yes look for NASBA REG tonight starting at 8pm CST
and a million thanks to Jeff.
Good luck to everyone waiting.
Jeff- this website is the BEST. Thank you!!
I also felt like Becker was off the mark on REG and FAR. But I must admit, I felt like the BEC and AUD exams were exactly like the Becker study material (only easier!!). I had to take REG 2x and then only passed with a 75 and we'll see about FAR (if they ever post the scores).
Yet to take FAR.
To explain the AICPA/NASBA thing...
AICPA is the mother robin flying into the nest with a mouthful of worm.
She spits it out.
-The speedy one (CA) grabs a piece first
-The next speedy one (IL) grabs a piece too
-NASBA waits for a minute and verifies that it is in fact a worm - and not a rubberband...and then grabs a big bite
-Others like TX, maybe VA grab some too
-Still others wait until they get something in the mail to notify them that a worm has arrived
...and that's how it works...
Then when I took the exam focused hardcore on how much time I had left. I left myself alot more time for the simulations then what Becker recommended.
Since I sort of remembered some of the Code Numbers and had a bunch of time left for the simulations I looked most everything up on the research tab. I know I got the simulations mostly correct because all the answers are in that tab; it's just a matter of looking for it and having the time.
Just my 2 cents.
REG is a beast of a test for anyone let alone people who don't do tax. I passed REG mainly because I practice Tax and I had a decent B-Law background in undergrad. Becker/Roger Phillip/Yaeger, I don't think it matters, the test is hard all around.
Don't know what I would do without your predictions and live updates. Go you good thing!
When I check the scores, I hold my hand over the score box, and only look at the 1st symbol 1st, praying to see an 8. If its a 7, I wait a couple of seconds, and then go for it. Ladies and gentlemen, the pure fear that you feel in those couple of seconds must be the same fear as if you have a gun pointed at you or something. Checking REG 2night is gonna be intense. Goo luck again to everyone, and to my fellow Colorado people

Looking for new study materials to get me over the hump but won't break the bank.
When you take your test you take it at a Prometric Testing Site.
Prometric then digitally "sends" your test to the AICPA for grading where the Multiple Choice and Non-Communication Tabs of Simulations are graded automatically. Communications portions are graded separately, in a blind manner - Candidates' Names are not assigned to the communications when sent to graders, who grade the simulation, and then reunite the score on the communication with the other portions of your test.
Next is a diamond in our flowchart, "a big decision", if you will.
IF you take your test before the cutoff date for a wave 1 release (usually the 7th of the 2nd month of the window) AND you did not have a new simulation on your CPA exam (BEC - Only Cutoff Date Required), your test is put in pile A.
IF you have taken your test after the wave 1 cutoff OR you have a new simulation, your test is put in pile B.
Next, your test is released by the AICPA to your state board. Pile A tests are released in Wave 1 and Pile B tests are released
in Wave 2.
If you have a state board with an independent score release method, such as CA or IL, you get your score through the state board, sometimes the same day as the AICPA released the score to the state board.
Other state boards releases the scores via the NASBA website. NASBA takes usually 2 days after AICPA release to post your score, between 9pm and midnight EST. Apparently they are working even faster now and might only take 1 day after AICPA release.
Finally, a few states release the score only via Snail Mail, and do not release scores online either via their own method or NASBA. These states like to watch you squirm.
Last in the process, you celebrate or resume studying.
The first time I took the exam I scored a 60! That's the lowest score I've ever even heard of. I found I was able to better prepare myself when I calmed down and focused more on the "concepts" than the "details." I think I was killing myself with nit picky details!
Is this normal?
I'll take anything...BEC, REG, AUD, FAR
From MO
What do you mean final transcript .. also, please provide the dates and the exams taken
I think Texas releases thru it's state board and Jeff said the AICPA released REG yesterday...i keep checking the texas website and nothing... i read earlier NASBA will release tonight at 8... is that when i should expect my score?
You are correct about Texas' release method. Texas does not release via the NASBA website. You can see at http://nasba.org/nasbaweb/NASBAWeb.nsf/wpes?openform&stateabbrev=TX that if you are a Texas candidate there is no room to put your section ID and birthdate, like in a NASBA releasing state.
Therefore when a Texas candidate gets their score is solely based on the Texas state board's release of the score via their independent website.
Also keep in mind there is a small chance you could be in "wave 2.5" which means you will not get your score when the rest of wave 2 does, because you are one the borderline. Wave 2.5 usually happens about a week later if I am not mistaken.
My last comment says Your comment is awaiting moderation. .. What is up with that?
June 17, 2009 at 12:58 pm
Waiting for FAR. It’s been 75 days…
You were put in pile B -- for wave 2 release because you had a new simulation.. Rest easy until atleast Friday, when Jeff has predicted the release of AICPA scores.
You had a new simulation. The AICPA needs atleast a whole wave of scores before it knows how you did (compared to others).
I understand that I have a new SIM, but in all honesty, how does that help me to know how I did in reference to other candidates? If I fail, whether I was comparable or not comparable to other candidates doesn't change the fact that I have to retake the exam. It doesn't help in the preparation. The only way I can see the comparability helping is for curving the exam. If I pass, then all of the fret and stress is for nothing. If I fail, I will be PO'd!!
"I think people who fails any test"
I figured it out when my question about it was not moderated! Thanks for your response!
I have learned so much here, through various AICPA reports and FAQs and other sites that I feel I can answer some of the easier questions. My way of giving back.
SAME HERE! I guess all the answers for the 2nd SIM. Suprisingly I passed with 90+
Best of luck to all
Well thats just the way it is.
For example, most people know that the exam gives you harder multiple choice questions if you do better on the previous testlet via the adaptive testing method.
I believe although not confirmed that the new simulations parts have some bearing on your score, perhaps if someone is on the edge of passing. I believe the reference in the AICPA interview that Jeff had where the new simulation candidates do not get a wave 1 release is a different concept than pretest questions (that do not count). This would explain the reason your score is pushed back to wait for a whole wave of results to compare it to.
It would make no sense to hold your score based on a new simulation if the new simulation didn't affect your score.
If you read the posts above, you would see that there are UNCONFIRMED GUESSES that the AICPA will release AUD scores today to the state boards.
Next the state board (CO in this case uses NASBA) will release your score via NASBA hopefully between 7pm MST - 10pm MST(Colorado time) on Thursday night. Any delays either in NASBA posting or in AICPA release time could push it to Friday between 7pm MST - 10pm MST or even Monday between 7pm MST - 10pm MST.
Best luck for all you.
You can stop checking your score every two minutes.
First, you should read Jeff's website one or two times tonight to see if the AICPA released the AUD scores to the state boards.
Only then should you, at a bare minimum, wait until the next night to get anxious, because NASBA takes atleast 24 hours to release scores even in their fastest time.
Thanks for your answer. For the first time I am experiencing this waiting pressure. For FAR, I was absolutely ignorant about release dates, and one day when I checked I saw my score. Then searching in google brought me here. Its a very good website for information regarding CPA results.
Thanks once again
Have you yet to here an inkling of information regarding AUD or is your guess just a pure guess regarding AUD, almost the same as your original predication.
The reason I ask is that if scores are to be released in a given night, usually you would have said to "look for some news tonight" by now.
IF the AICPA releases audit tonight, Friday or Monday would be a good guess for TX based on what I have read from other recent TX score releases. It seems as if recently TX is actually AFTER the NASBA release date.
I'm actually in the process of writing an e-book containing around 50 FAQs...it's going to be about 40 pages of material (single spaced)...action packed stuff! I hope to release it around the end of this month...it's like writing a 40 page term paper.
Sorry but I just can’t buy the people who claim they walked out of the test “failing” yet get an 85 or better on this exam. Just.Not.Buying.It.Ever. If you get above even an 80 you KNOW you did well leaving that test. All reading these boards have given me is FALSE HOPE!!!
The CPA exam is a really hard to judge test. I have read numerous cases of people feeling they did bad and doing good, just like you have stated, but I have also read many unfortunate cases where people think they did great and actually failed it. It is very hard to know how you did, especially on your first part.

I definitely had a similar experience to others regarding REG. I used Becker, and on test day, found several MCs unanswerable, and the SIMs beyond the REG preparation - had only studied for REG and BEC at that point. I was pleasantly surprised when I scored an 87.
If there is anything that I have learned via this website, it is that there is no difference between taking you test on April 1st and May 7th, you will still have the same chance of a Wave 1 (mid May) or Wave 2 (now) score release. Food for thought when scheduling your next CPA exam part.
F5 = refresh current web page
I guess I could superglue a 941 Deposit for the 2nd QTR 2009 on one of the cans and give that to my bank...
All I can say is that you must be a great Dad. Sounds like that came from reading bedtime stories to your kids.
Jeff is not your employee, why would you need a 941 or withholding.
Jeff is also only charging $20/month-> $240 for a year for the Club 75 which is in addition to being a good deal for you, below the reporting requirements for a 1099-MISC.
Finally, if you only do the coffee or beer link, it is a gift, not compensation nor income. If fact, you would be the only one needing to withhold for yourself, for gift tax, if you exceeded the annual limits and your lifetime limit..
But then again I am going too far .. I doubt any single person (or in total for that matter) is giving Jeff over $2 million in coffee and beer.
Alt + F4 will help you concentrate on what you should be really doing.
Alt + F4 will help you concentrate on what you should be really doing.
Unless what you really should be doing is studying for your next CPA exam part, in which case you still cannot concentrate even if you are not posting here or checking your score.
it is like investing in long term stock, invest and forget about it until you get good returns!
so unless you don't get good results from CPA just forget bout it. cause that wait really kills you.
and just to clarify...I firmly believe the IRS could very easily consider it income and not a gift. Income doesn't have to be money.
Of course, I knew my 70% MCQ were not too bad - just not sure about my answers.
Also the one I felt best - BEC, is my lowest score among the three.
For sims, do your best and anything you knew - Don't give up any questions if you still have time. That makes difference!
I have kept my hope until seeing my scores.

You are correct regarding the income versus money part. However, the fact remains that the buying of jeff coffee or beer is actaully a paypal transaction -- money. The reason I say it is a gift rather than income is that you are getting nothing in return -- from a tax perspective. Your level of access to the site is not dependant on whether you give jeff a coffee or a beer. You are giving him money for nothing of economic value in return (ie. higher access), and that is a gift for the IRS. Granted you are buying said coffee or beer because you like the site, but the fact remains you didn't have to.
I did that once and got a 74 right before i was gonna call it a night. that was the worse night ever. but i guess anytime you get a 74.. its always gonna be bad.
Let me be clear that this is different from Club 75, where the money is purchasing access to a special area of the website, where this would be a business, and therefore income.
There are some other missourians who got theirs just fine.
What is up?
I received a same email from Becker an hour ago. I am waiting on AUD score in PA.
So you're saying that money from one part of this website is a business and money from another part (same website, to the same person, with no exempt specifications except for the theory of a gift) is not a business?
I wonder if my boss will pay me minimum wage at work and give me a $40,000 bonus, aka "gift", for being such a nice person outside of work.
I asked a co-worker about the coffee/beer link situation.. I have come to the conclusion that research would be necessary on the topic to be sure as to whether or not it is income or a gift, we were not able to come to a resolution on the issue.
End of story in my book.
Moving on plz....
June 17, 2009 at 2:36 pm
Gift vs. Income? I don’t care~ Where’s my FAR??????????
I agree!!
And Ryan,
If you do find something different other than income let me know...I would be surpised, but I'm curious.
Your example would easily be argued substance over form.
Think of it like this. If you give a homeless man $10, is that income to the man?
What if a billionaire gave a homeless person $5 million.. would that be a gift tax implication for the billionaire, or income to the homeless man?
1.FAR
2.REG
3.BEC
4.AUD
Keep in mind, one might have been more difficult for you than someone else. I am looking for the general consensus.
Like Jeff said: Gross Revenue
Like Jeff said II: Moving on plz
1. FAR (hardest)
2. AUD
3. BEC
4. REG
I would say it is most likely income. You are not just giving the coffee/beer money to Jeff out of the goodness of your heart or because of some relationship between the two of you. You giving it to him because of a service he has provided you (this website). That you are not required to pay anything is, in my view, less important than that fact.
I appreciate everyone who reads this site...please just don't do stuff that makes me have to go back and delete it or write stupid posts like this.
-Jeff
Anonymous - I'm an auditor too, but I really struggled with AUD. Maybe because for every m/c there seemed like 2 right answers.
If you go to google and search for "gift or income doug moy" you will read about a case where a woman moves in with a guy after dating. The woman cooks & cleans for the guy, and the guy in turn gives the woman $10,500 and then a 1099-MISC at year end. He had no obligation to do so, yet the woman provided the service.
The IRS ruled it income to the woman, however later in court it was determined a gift.
Another example of how tricky things can be.
Similar here, Jeff does this website for and there is no official relationship between us.
I feel the same way you do. Let's just be strong and wait till 8 PM.
Good luck everyone.
I was actually using this as a learning experience, and was playing devils advocate. I am almost certain you do not make money on this website, rather are losing money, and therefore it does not matter. Even if you are making, the amount of tax owed would probably be very small.
Regardless of that, if by debate you mean me, I will stop, I do not mean to cause trouble and was only trying to learn.
Please let me know if you want me to stop.
He asked for a stop of the bickering/name calling/debate in the last post, I trying to determine what that means. I was not name calling, and would not consider it bickering. It was a hypothetical situation for which everyone would be better off to know the true way the law says it should be treated.
Jeff already said he is treating it as income. For the IRS this would be the conservative treatment. Therefore it's not like anyone is saying he is trying to commit tax evasion.
I was just trying figure out something that I assumed most people would be interested in, being CPA candidates. If everyone is that annoyed by it, I guess I'll just stop. Sorry.
"I actually took REG back in November…was 100% sure I failed, in fact…I continued studying for it JUST in case…score came back an 86"
Thanks for saying that - it gives me a glimmer of hope....
I have heard many stories of blank simulation tabs and still a passing grade. I am not sure if this was luck (pre test tabs) or because the non-communcation tabs of the simulations are only 20% and you only missed half (10%) which still leaves room for a good score.
You say that like its a bad thing.
I am proud of my nerd-dom.
Nothing wrong with engaging in conversation but it seems like a conclusion has alrady been reached.
now, i just hope AUD gets released by the AICPA today!
I consider it gross revenue.
End of story in my book.
Moving on plz….
Which I kinda thought meant, well, move on, and um, stop.
We are all CPA candidates but are on here because we really don't want to focus on gifts vs income. (Unless of course a gift would get our scores quicker) =)
Debate is how law is made .. its a good thing!
Wow I am such a nerd
i’m just wondering if anyone else is cracking up at Ryan and his back and forth defense of himself…this is great entertainment
I'm glad to give you something to do while you wait for your score.. after all that is what I'm doing.
GOOD LUCK to everyone waiting on a score! I'm hoping to see REG make an appearance tonight!!
Did you hire ryan to post annoying messages on your blog so that we all sign up for club 75?
While I’m sure there are people on this site that would enjoy debating, it just might not be the best venue. I think that’s all people are trying to get at.
Thanks for the reasoning.. it helps to have a view from the outside from someone who cares enough to help without insulting.
I guess my way of coping with the wait is to talk to other people and that debate took 2 hours of the waiting away.. anyway..
Jeff,
Did you hire ryan to post annoying messages on your blog so that we all sign up for club 75?
Are you telling me I should be getting paid for this? haha..
Moving on...
AUD people...I got nothin' for you yet.
I think Ryan’s banter is his form of destressing. We all have different ways.
I actually thought banter had a negative connotation, until reading the dictionary.
banter
Pronunciation: \ˈban-tər\
Function: verb
Etymology: origin unknown
Date: 1676
transitive verb
1: to speak to or address in a witty and teasing manner
Yeah that about sums it up. I think I am done for today. Jeff has not posted anything official about the scores being released from the AICPA and it seems to be past that time for a normal day.
love the site! Do you ever find it difficult to be diplomatic especially when people say stuff you don't agree with...when you really wanna call them a name yourself?
The way some of the posts have been going today, I would think people would be more concerned about 4:20
love the site! Do you ever find it difficult to be diplomatic especially when people say stuff you don’t agree with…when you really wanna call them a name yourself?
It's happened once or twice :)
LOL I don't think anyone got your 4:20 reference.
Here is a better one:
If an accountant's wife can't get to sleep, what does she do?
Leans over to her husband and says "Tell me about work today, honey."
that way.. the longer you wait. the happier you are. if you failed bad... you get a head start to plan your next exam.
Don't steal my silver lining!
I am waiting for FAR in MA - my last part. . . sat for the exam in 05/05. Knew most of the questions - except for the 3rd testlet that looked like psychology exam (maybe the question database got mixed up :)). No kidding . . .- I am actually thinking of change of career now . . .Considering Auto Mechanic or Electrician
Um I guess this wait is driving me nut . . .right? Maybe if AICPA/NASBA can be more efficient they wont loose me to American Association of Auto Mechanics (AAAM - If there is anything like that)
Jeff, on a more serious note - are you considering a webinar on IFRS?
I also wonder how an exam of this caliber can't have a scoring system to match it. I guess it's just the nature of the beast and we're all stuck here at the mercy of the AICPA.
Ryan...cut that crap out. And everybody else, please don't post a message just for the sake of asking when a state will release scores. Scroll up and down. Does it look like others are getting their scores yet? No. Amazing...and you are probably going to pass your exam with ease.
I don't get it. And I could use a laugh right about now.
I was a freshman once myself ... in 1976 ... 33 years ago!!! It was a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away.
BTW, how do you make quoted text turn to italics? I passed BEC, so now people expect me to know this stuff!
Thanks Texas.
It's somewhat funny to watch. Only I can see it though.
Last Friday - BEC
Tuesday - REG
Thursday - AUD?
Next Monday - FAR?
Does this seem logical? or just coincidence?
AUD PPL need some love!!
Still waiting, I was expecting them today, my guess is tomorrow morning now.
D
You can stop checking. TX only updates scores once a day. They take the site down at 3am and do their thing and pop it back up at 5am.
I'm in WA too and have not gotten my REG results yet either which I took in the latter part of May. I am wondering when we should receive them (since we don't appear to be a NASBA state and, as such, it appears that we could get our scores whenever per Jeff).
As a bit of a sidenote, I also have not yet received my Performance Information from the 1st wave results...I got my scores on those sections that I took in April (and I passed...yeah!)...they said that this diagnostic info was supposed to come in the mail within 2 weeks of scores being posted (which would have been early June in my case). Hopefully, this diagnostic info is in process as well...as I would like to see what I did well in and what I need improvement on.
Hopefully, we will get our REG scores soon, and hopefully, we passed! That would be a great feeling, huh! Make sure to post when you get your results.
:) Seattlegirl
I hate to ask this if its already been answered (you alluded to it earlier) and Ive been reading your column for several days so I think I would have seen it, but Im still a little confused how TX handles their scores. You list them as kinda being on their own. Do they get scores from the AICPA or NASBA? Do they decide when to post them or just hold them hostage until they are ready? I talked to qualifications today and they said they get an electronic batch and it comes in overnight and its processed immediately and updated on the website overnight. Essentially, I just want you to make an educated guess when REG is going to be available. :)
WA don't send out disgnostic reports if you pass I'm afraid.
D
Honestly buddy, I have to say something about the question you just asked. I suggest you just go back a little and read the posts on this blog. I am actually feeling a little bit better about REG now based on the fact that they score those papers based on curving and how people around you perform!!!
I was just waiting for one more person to ask what time the REG scores would be posted tonight, and waiting pushed me over the edge.
Just kidding, thanks for the site, it helps pass the time for everyone and is a great stress reliever.
On another topic, I would like to make an observation about the CPA exam that I don't see discussed often on this site. The AICPA is not interested in whether or not a candidate can memorize multi's or parrot communications for their SIMS (that's what college is about). The AICPA is concerned with only licensing those that have shown they not only understand concepts related to being a CPA, but that you can make judgements and answer accounting related questions, that you haven't memorized, on the fly.
If you know the concepts, you'll pass the exam.
And I know that I am a nerd, AUD, but what can I say. That is who I am... :)
I'm waiting for my REG's score to come up like the rest of you..
and I am trying to study FAR right now while waiting!!!
Very hard to focussss... sighhh
Thanks for your response, oh patient and understanding one.
Good luck for the rest of you out there waiting with me!
Reg score is up
GO...EVERYONG
Thanks Jeff... ur site is great.. the score was released almost at the time you mentioned.. Keep it up.
One step closer
I usually don't post my scores but I'm damn proud of this one: 98!
I usually don't post my scores but I'm damn proud of this one: 98!
Congrats to those who are done and good luck everyone else.
I still can not believe it. I was almost sure I will get 74. My MS did not seem to get harder and my last SIM I only did research tab and few numbers i wasn't even sure about.
Thanks u all and good luck
1. inordinate amount of Wave 1 AUD releases
2. possibly a new sim
Also, I know AUD is next in line, but any thoughts on FAR?
Thanks "oh all knowing CPA man" Jeff
6 tests taken, no parts passed. FAR, REG, BEC.
Already paid for FAR thinking I would pass REG due to the amount of studying I did...
=(
Congrats!
How about trying different study material?
... 87 in REG!!! AHHH!!! I felt TERRIBLE about the exam, but thank GOD, I didn't want to pay to take it over...
I took AUD on May 30 in NY, is it possible to get score tomorrow night?
Nerves of steel...you made me laugh with your "going in" comment...well done!
For those that failed...seriously get Yaeger and get on with your life...I have yet to recommend a person to Yaeger who regretted purchasing it. The next e-mail I get from someone regretting buying Yaeger will be the first.
It was my remedy to finally being a CPA. I wouldn't have passed without Phil, and that's just a fact.
-Jeff
Do you have any idea when New York BEC scores will be posted on nasba site? I took it on May 2nd, and it still hasn't been posted... I'm thinking they messed up or something is wrong...for sure
i agree
Thank you Jeff this site really takes the edge off the whole prolonged process.
Congrats!
-jeff
It took me 4 times to pass REG. I was as frustrated as you are. Change your study materials might help. I was using only BECKER for my first 2 tries. However, it was not enough. Becker doesn't have enough MC for me to practice. Therefore, I bought Gleim. Gleim has much bigger MC date base and you can also only focus on the area that you are not good at. Moreover, you can print MC questions out in batch (which in Becker you have to print out question by question). I also bough the Final Review from Becker which I am very recommend. It helped me a lot to prepare SIM. The last but not least, remember to do the SIM which are released by AICPA. I had almost the same SIM ( 90% similar -except the research tab)on my last exam. Hope this will help. Don't loss your hope. You can do it.
that we here in texas are still without the knowledge of our exams we have taken
The REG for CO is up already.
It's all good.
If i'm done with all the 4 sections of the exams, will I get any type of certificate or document stating that I have passed all sections? BEFORE TAKING ETHICS EXAM OR ANY FUTHER STEP? Especially in California (i'm Cal), and if u have any other piece of info for other states I also appreciate it.
Thanks,
I got my BEC score back….72. Cannot believe it. I felt like I had a good grasp of the Becker materials. Does anyone have any advice? I just feel so confused and frustrated that I do not know what to do. I feel as if I were to sit for the exam again, I would not do any better. Should I use another review course so that I can practice more multiple choice Questions? Also, how did you guys study for the IT sections, because A FEW QUESTIONS SEEMED ARBITRARY. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!!
The ethics exam is just a pain and boring - but it's not stressful. If she has to take one - most are open book...it's not a big deal. Like I said...mostly boring.
Take care,
Jeff
Don't give up. I used Becker also. I studied the material multiple times, and did the HW about 5 or 6 times. I got 89 on REG. Just wanna say that English is my 2nd language. If I can do it, so can you. All you need to do is give up you social life a little bit and spend more time doing HW questions. The more you practice, the more proficient you will be. I am sure you will be very happy when you check your score next time.
Do not feel demoralized. I used Yaeger home study (not the cram), used the discount from Jeff's site- thanks to Jeff,, and to be honest I really enjoyed the material they taught, even though I hated the IT part since there are so many things to memorize. However I passed both BEC(got my score 86 last Sat ) and REG (got my score 89 in May) and I am a first time test taker using Yaeger, and passed both parts in one try. I think the key is you have to understand the concepts and practice lots of MCQ to master BEC - just my opinion.
I am anxiously waiting for AUD and have been spending sleepless nights. I also studied AUD using Yaeger, but in my opinion I think I like the way they taught BEC and REG far better than the way they taught AUD- just my opinion. Will see how i do.
My advice to you would be do Passmaster question over and over, mark the questions you did wrong and redo it after a week or so until you can handle them with no problem. If you did a question wrong the first time, it is more likely you will make the same mistake the 2nd time, but do not panic, you do it the third time, 4th time until everything is stuck in your head. That is how I did it. It is very time consuming, but it really works.
Hope this helps.
Thank you so much for your quick response. We live in NY and she probably knows the answer but she went to bed early and I didn't want to disturb her as this is probably going to be the first night she gets a good night's sleep in a very long time.
I have to tell you, I stumbled across your site when she was on her 2nd test and I told her when her scores would be posted. She was amazed and told all her friends about it. Now they all text me to find out when their scores will be posted. I'm already getting texts from people about Audit. I think it's so funny but I don't mind easing their stress a little bit. Your site is wonderful and it's good to know everyone feels the same way while they're waiting for the scores. Thanks again and by the way...your family is beautiful!!!
For the IT section, you have got to read the glossary section in the back of the book. I was glad I did it because it really helped me. I had a lot of IT questions also.
I think it's awesome that you're helping your daughter like that and taking an interest in her exam success...I bet most of us wish that our parents did that. Most of our family members (outside of a spouse) have no clue what is involved with this exam.
Thanks again for reading my site.
-Jeff
Liz is my sister's name and I'm happy to say that I also passed in New York this window. There is no ethics exam requirement for New York as far as I know which means she is done. Double check if you wish on the professions website for New York State.

BUT WHEN!!!???i am refreshing this page at work every 5min!
Waiting on one more and i'm a CPA, but at least in know it'll be after the weekend.
Great blog, in wish i'd found it sooner.
I passed 3 sections and waiting Audit now, from china too,How about you
BEC 79 - Would have expired June 14th if I hadn't passed REG
AUD 87
FAR 76
REG 74, 62, 90 - Actually putting in time to study makes a huge difference.
Thanks Jeff. Good luck to everyone. Press on towards the goal.
aud- 92
fare- 93
reg - 96
I actually did it. I'm still in shock. I actually passed all 4 parts on the first try in only 6 months, while working full time.
Well, 9 months if I count study time. I also gained 20 pounds. Now I can start exercising again and lose the weight.
Waiting on AUD, lol, I hope I passed, I felt mediocre taking the test, is there a curve on AUD, haha?
I'll be driving between 7:30 and 8 this morning, so be warned. I'll try to stay focused.
I took BEC on May 28th in Nebraska and still have not received a score. Is this normal, or am I to believe that I'm one of those dreaded "borderline" folks. I haven't seen any other posts from Nebraska folks on here. Any info would be great. Thanks.
I read someplace that if you receive your score in the second wave it doesnt necessarily mean you are borderline pass. It could mean that there were not enough scores in yet from that exam to begin marking..
I'm kind of in the same spot as you. It seems as if everyone else has already gotten there scores and it makes me nervous. I'll be your brother in waiting...
BEC - 73, 78
REG - 54, 63, 65, 70, 82
FAR - 69, 66, 75
AUD - 73, 78
I also supplemented Becker with software called Financial Prep. Financial Prep contained a lot more MCQs than Becker. It also allowed you to focus on your weakest areas. With the old and new exam methods, I have tried almost all CPA exam study materials out there. Becker and Financial Prep seemed to work the best for me. If you don't succeed, never give up. Thank you Jeff for your blog. It has been real nice knowing when to expect my grades. In addition, it has been nice to see encouraging comments about persevering. For those of you who have failed, you're not alone. NEVER give up. You can do it!!!
Go with the BEC cram...it's an excellent product. It's what finally got me to pass BEC.
http://www.another71.com/cpa-exam-failure.html
Its very easy not to worry about the grades for your first exam. The result for my first part AUD took almost eternity to get released. FAR is my last part, missed it in April by 1 point . . .so I think I have to stress about it . . . Wait till you are expecting the the last result . . . :)
I hear you on that weight gain thing for the CPA exam. I actually gained about 12lbs and have only taken two parts of the CPA exam. I literally had no social life for 2.5 months and now I have a breathing problem that started a few days before my BEC test. All of it was pretty much stress related haha. Before the CPA exam I used to ride my bike, I maintained a normal healthy weight and ate well.
Oh well! One year of hell only cost me about 10 years of my life or so haha....
Just keep on trucking buddy! You have to bury the frustration of being so close yet so far away and cuddle up to the fact that you actually were THAT CLOSE. Feel privileged you came that close because a lot of people aren't so fortunate. If you came that close this time, next time you'll get it.
Steve (VA) - Thanks. While studying my life was put on "hold" in every way except for my job, laundry, showering, paying bills, grocery shopping, and getting necessary maintenance done on my car. I brought my laptop to the car repair shop and visited with Olinto and Gearty in the waiting room, because I couldn't afford to waste the hours.
But now I am FREEEE!!!
It is my last exam.
Pro-tip - Never take an exam at the beginning of the test cycle. You lose so much time if you don't get selected for the first release.
2 1/2 months to get scores is a bit obsurd. Especially when my Reg scores came in like 10-14 days after I took it this period, May 8th.
Now,I have bought a homestudy for far.Phil Yaeger is an awesome teacher.I am sure i can nail far easly with his help.
Haha! That's hilarious.
I took classes at www.philadelphiacpareview.com but due to certain events I lost alot of class time for REG and wanted to know if the cram could help. I passed BEC and AUD using these guys with almost no studying. (Took BEC the day after the last class and scored 80). But because I missed so much REG I'm looking for help.
Any updated predictions on AUD?
For what its worth, I did worse on REG & BEC than I did on AUD & FAR, but I passed all on the first try with BISK CPA review. I took REG & BEC in the same window so I didn't spend as much time which directly corresponded with my scores.
Thanks Again!
good luck to everyone. waiting on FAR and AUD in ND. no online score reporting up here in the prairie, so i have an extra day to wait. congrats to the successful candidates and to those who didn't pass...keep studying. it's not your intelligence that is holding you back, it's your approach! i don't mean that in a bad way, just need to tweak your study habits or your study material...good luck to all
would audit score from CO would be available on NASBA today?
Regards,
Pankaj
You are from which state board?
I know the pain - but don't give up. If you are near NYC, Dallas or Atlanta - the Becker Final Review class will get you over the top - is money well spent and gave me a HUGE confidence boost going into FAR (my last section)..walked out knowing I had nailed it.....now all I need is the grade.....took it on 4/20 (Maryland) and the last 61 days have been brutal..........
I hope with a better ending. Was really hoping AICPA would release auditing in the early AM so we could receive the score late PM.
June 18, 2009 at 9:33 am
Does AICPA need to release Audit first before NASBA will?
Yes. The AICPA grades the tests and the NASBA administers the testing process.
Is there a hold up on Audit? The suspense is KILLINNG me
June 18, 2009 at 9:34 am
WILL NASBA POST SCORES ON A SATURDAY FOR FAR? 6/20? OR IS IT MORE LIKELY GOING TO BE A LONGGG WEEKEND? THANKS!
considering i once got a failing grade on christmas day, they will probably post grades over the weekend
Jeff, I don't understand what your saying. I am confused, I can't think, I can't work, and now I can't understand what your saying. I'm going crazy.
Ugh!! How dumb is that?? Jeez, these people never cease to amaze me. They decide how many they're going to release on each wave. Then they don't release enough in Wave 1 so there is more work to do in order to release Wave 2. How stupid is that?? WTF!! I just want to know either way: pass or fail.
Can you clarify your comments on the hold up for audit? You say the holdup is due to low # of wave 1 released....then go on to say it's not affecting wave 2. What is not affecting wave 2?
Also...any idea why the low # of wave 1 releases is affecting the release date of wave 2??? Wave 1 scores not released would have had another 4+ weeks to be graded during wave 2.
I realize these may be dumb questions...but the whole scoring process for the exam seems a@$ backwards. I don't understand the hold up when 90% of the available points are graded electronically w/only 10% being left to subjective review???
D
June 18, 2009 at 10:08 am
So does the low number of AUD in Wave 1 mean there’s a chance FAR could come before AUD?
I have the exact same question!! Would make since to push out FAR if it's up and ready. But the AICPA doesn't always make since.
I think they must submit to the states electronically. I am from Mississippi, and I usually get my scores in the mail about 4 days after the AICPA releases scores to the States. I doubt they would be able to turn scores around so quickly if they were not received electronically.
I slept with AUDIT's wife. She said that its not the wave 1 release, but that AUDIT is a pathetic loser that wastes his time at the bars.
I slept with AUDIT's wife. She said that its not the wave 1 release, but that AUDIT is a pathetic loser that wastes his time at the bars.
I find that medication helps with all that anxiety and frustration. :) (Legal and prescribed, of course...)
Is there any chance AICPA will go ahead and release the FAR scores ahead of AUD due to the hold up on AUD? Have you ever seen that before?
Thanks in advance!
It depends totally on your state. What state are you in?
June 18, 2009 at 10:22 am
Low Wave 1 scores are *now* affecting Wave 2 … I had “not” which was a typo … my fault :/
Jeff: is there any more specific info regarding wave 1 vs. wave 2 for audit? i.e. do you think they will all be released at the same time, or maybe Wave 1 and then Wave 2 another day? Updated predictions at all?
Thanks so much!
I was kept waiting for REG in wave 1. It had been torturing me for more than a week. Why me again???????!!!!!!!!
Does anyone know if we can see how many times we checked the Nasba website for our scores? I am curious if I hit 5 digits yet.
when do you think they will release the score for AUD?
I would rather go back to the pencil and paper days!!! At least then my expectations were much lower of these people. I don't know who is slower....government works or the people grading the exams!!!
But I do love the site!!! And the anxiety is setting in!!!
thanks Jeff.
Audit will be my last section. taking it in July!
As a matter of fact, "HORSE WITH NO NAME" they do. My friend passed hers in 2007 and is still waiting for her portion to be released. And we thought score releases were painful. :)
I don't know, but join Club 75 and I'll e-mail you when it happens so that you don't have to waste time checking this board.
Jeff, I appreciate what you are doing. And I will not ask you to do anymore than what you're already doing. Ok, maybe just this one time. Can you contact your source and squeeze every little bit of info you can get?
Ya know, this is so sad.
Jeff is a guy who busted his ash to study for and pass the CPA Exam while maintaining a family and a job-JUST LIKE THE REST OF US!
Jeff passed the CPA exam - UNLIKE THE REST OF US (SO FAR)
Jeff is continuing to take time our of his busy schedule TO INFORM AND PUT UP WITH THE REST OF US!!
We post a comment and think that is it. WRONG! I have dealt with websites and blogs and that is not the final answer. There is always someone in the background, JEFF, making things work and filtering those things that would make this not work. I can almost guarantee you that we do not see everything that is submitted.
I know I am rambling, but jeez. If you don't want to pay for Club 75, then don't!! If you don't want Yeager, then don't buy it! If you don't like Jeff's predictions, then GET OFF THIS DAMN BLOG!
Otherwise gripe about NASBA, the AICPA, ME for all I care, but please give Jeff a break!
-Jeff
i got my REG score (NYC) from the NASBA site last night (June 17).
85 - yay!!!
1 down, 3 to go!
We have 62k views on this site alone, close to over 2k comments on this page alone, multiple complaints, wild predictions, praises and requests for the man with the crystal ball.
I'm sure someone has even thought of congregating a group, who have not received AUD and FAR scores, with pitchforks and torches and arrive in front of the AICPA building to have the examiners be burned at the stake (or tarred and feathered, pick your poison for choices of public embarrassment) for taking too long grading our exams.
For those with REG and BEC scores on this window, you are welcome to join us. The examiners played a part in your torture for administering the exam for however long it took you to pass it.
My congrats to all who passed. My condolences to all who failed. Trust me, I have been there. Keep it up and don't slack. Just take care of business. We all end up in the same place soon enough.
June 18, 2009 at 10:22 am
has anyone in wi gotten reg scores yet?
No one in WI will receive their scores until WI receives all scores from wave 2 for all sections. So once you hear that other people have received both AUD and FAR, then you can start checking in WI.
Its pretty annoying since you know that WI is just sitting on the REG and BEC scores....
Reg has not made an appearance here yet, seems like he had better places to visit.
D
"We all end up in the same place soon enough."
We sure will! And we will all be sporting white jackets on backwards!
LOL ;)
Reg has not made an appearance here yet, seems like he had better places to visit.
In my experience Castle (WA) post the day after AICPA releases. I hope so, because I want to receive my AUD score this week.

So… pretty much not for another week then??
Pretty much :(
Please please please please please release AUD in time for NASBA to post before Saturday AM. FAR too if you don't mind.
Please pretty please. I promise to put in a good work with Mickey for you if you do. (And if you post passing scores for me and all my friends here, I will put in a good word with the Disney Princesses. Oo la la!.
Sincerely,

If i put half the amount of time I’m on this site towards STUDYING FOR THE CPA EXAM I swear I’d be A CPA by now.
ARRRRRRRRRRRGGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't actually dream of that...or do I?
A girl’s baseball glove.
What do you call a happy cherry?
A merry cherry.
How do mules open locked barns?
With don-keys.
How do you make an orange laugh?
Tickle it’s navel.
Sorry. Eating laffy taffy in between refreshes...
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AUD AND FAR I HATE YOU .. oh yeah you too AICPA
D
Sorry, Just wanted my question to stand out. :)
If we join Club 75, do you only e-mail updates or can you text them too? If NASBA scores are not posted before Sat morn my family is going to throw me off Space Mountain for wanting to be back in the hotel room hitting F5 every 30 seconds.
Hope someone gets that movie reference...
I figured maybe if we provide some encouragement and ask nicely, please pretty please with a cherry on top, maybe Audit will get released...
Just a thought. This is my last one and while I have been really quite good at the whole understanding I have to wait and not really thinking about it, now I am very anxious. In fact I went shopping at H&M during my lunch break today and all I could think was, well if I failed I'll just have to bring it all back so I can pay to retake the stupid exam... After failing my first 2, I have passed the last three in a row: 75 Reg, 76 BEC, 77 Far, so I'm praying the trend continues and I can really enjoy my new purchases!
Thanks Jeff for the site, it has provided great entertaining and information during my anxious hours... oy. I didn't see a need to join Club 75 for my last and final part, but I have every intention of buying you that beer when I get my final passing score :-) Lord knows I will be consuming plenty myself to celebrate!
Good luck to everyone still waiting and CONGRATS to all passing so far this round! If you failed don't give up, just keep puching through, I did it and you can too!
As a reminder, please don't characterize any review course instructors in a way that they would perceive as unflattering. They work for corporations that have much more money in the bank and many more lawyers than I do.
Thank you for understanding.
Ctrl+End will bring you to the bottom of a webpage.
I would definately buy one
I understand your concern. I will tone it down. Just trying to take people's minds off this waiting process.
Although if I was compared to Chuck Norris I would be flattered.
June 18, 2009 at 1:46 pm
Tip of the day!
Ctrl+End will bring you to the bottom of a webpage
You don't need to push Ctrl.
I see that NASBA and AICPA released BEC: yet I have not received my score from MO.
How long do I have to suffer with all of you?
Days...weeks...months?
Have they ever spread out the release this long? BEC on June 20th and still no AUD or FAR six days later?
THANKS MR. JEFF
WHEN CAN I SEE THE SCORE FROM COLORADO BOARD
Does anybody know when VA website is updated after score are relised?
June 18, 2009 at 2:19 pm
When will IL post the scores?????
=====
Jeff said we have to wait for IL baby bird to take the AUD worm that the AICPA just dropped in the CPA nest...
Please update your predictions with actuals. And also let me know when can I see the results online - Colorado board
(Just in case...)
Please, please, please, please, please release FAR, AICPA! I've already planned my Saturday night around many, many adult beverages...I just want to know if I'll be celebrating or drowning my sorrows.
Thanks and good luck to all!

It's true! The AICPA is trying to kill us! B.A.R.F.!!!
For CO AUD...Friday Evening----My **Guess**
AICPA Release:
BEC - Saturday, June 13 (Actual release Friday June 12 4pm CST)
REG - Monday, June 15 (Actual release Tuesday June 16 3:45 pm CST)
AUD - Thursday, June 18
FAR - Friday, June 19
NASBA Release (posted between 8pm and midnight EST):
BEC - Monday, June 15 (Actual release Monday, June 15)
REG - Wednesday, June 17
AUD - Friday, June 19
FAR - Monday, June 22
If this comes true I am buying a lottery ticket!
What time today do you predict IL will release AUD??
June 18, 2009 at 2:36 pm
jeff… whats the % chance of nasba seeing there AUD score tonight/tomorrow…. 20%/90%
hmm...with overall odds of 110% i'm pretty sure there is a good chance you failed your exam, regardless of the section
Can anyone say WTF?
that is their canned answer. they get sick of fielding those calls, so they are really rude and give vague answers. we should have everything to us by the middle of next week (hopefully!)
Allow 2-4 weeks for delivery....Standard script. I promise. I started with my reps extension and created a list going backwards and forwards numerially. Good news is I have a contact list. Bad news is they ain't gonna tell you squat.
s now that I wish I had not seen those words...at least all the anxiety will be over soon...i will now be able to continue on my quest in some direction!!!
I don't know if AUD will go this way too but when REG was released Tuesday and Jeff said not to expect scores until Wednesday he was right. Scores were still not posted when I checked Wednesday morning at 5:45am (or 6:30 or 6:45 or 7:00....) but (and I just checked my phone to confirm the time) my husband, who had also taken the REG exam, called me at 7:55 to ask what fancy place we should go to for our celebratory lunch. So they must have posted them sometime between 7:30 & 8am.
FYI, we had Chipotle. It's not fancy but it's delicious!
That's Castle's standard response. They are usually pretty good but I did have to wait a very long time for my BEC score last year. I really don't want to have to go through that again.
D
The NASBA website says that scores will be held until final transcripts are received.
Am I goiong to have to wait several more weeks to even see my score?
It seems that everything that NASBA does is SLOW. I emailed my state coordinator earlier this morning about this matter, but she has yet to reply. It always takes her a couple of days to respond to me :(
I am SO frustrated with the utter lack of urgency these people do their job with.
J/K...everyone needs to settle down. There is a life outside of the CPA exam, never lose sight of that.
I was in the same boat. I graduated college in May and took auditing late may. I sent in my final transcript June 8th (they received it June 11th) and I was able to look at my score Earlier this week on the 16th. It all depends on how backed up that particular site is with processing transcripts. I did call in and kind of pushed them by letting them know I am waiting to schedule the next portion of the CPA exam. That seemed to help.
Thanks!
I know of crown but whats the Crown Royal XR?
Good luck to all.
The XR stands for Extra Rare. It's the cream of the crop, if you will. You can check it out on their website. It's delicious.
lets see how badly i fare in the remainin two.
FML
feel miserable
i hope i only have to retake BEC & REG
i cant take more than that.
Were there enough FAR scores released in wave 1 that wave 2 will come in a timely manner? Or do you think they may be held up in the same way that AUD was? Also, does the AICPA release scores on Saturday?
Does NASBA release on Saturdays...in case we don't see AUD tomorrow night?
Do this:
1. On your computer input the section id and bday. then enter.
2. Copy the entire www address that pops up and send it to yourself in an email
3. Open the email up on your berry and click the link.
4. If your berry is new enough (mine is a bold) the site will load.
5. The site at first will look very screwed up. what you need to do is open your menu and select "column view" instead of "page view" which is usually the default view.
6. Scroll down and see your score.
I *think* it is at the very top of the status page. It lists "Exam Section" then "Score" then "Status". I am not sure, however, as I am waiting for my first section.
Good luck!
CA has a different system to check scores. CA applicants check through the California Board of Accountancy website to check their scores, not the NASBA website. So, if you are not in CA, disregard the instructions being posted on how to check your score.
Friday, tue, thurs.
If i remember correctly i think i saw the same trend for Wave 1 in May.
Is this something new or has this been seen before as well?
Any thoughts!
I'm not sure what the solution is...218,000 page views since Monday...gotta figure something out or this will happen again this week...and my IT guy's time is not free.
Thinking...thinking. For now...enjoy the night.
-Jeff
However I started to read this and site and CPA net and people were posting about how they felt they "failed" but ended up with 80's or higher. I really started to feel that I might have passed. I received my score yesterday and I had a 74. So this is for anyone who is "normal". Please don't believe the posts these people write. If you mess up a sim or leave it blank you WILL fail. Now that I have sat for a part and received my score I will know weather I "failed" or not when I leave the testing site. I hope this helps.
I am a regular person too. I sat for FAR in April and didn't complete the last sim. I completely screwed up on a lot of the MC's. I thought I failed. I thought I failed so bad, that I started studying again. I got my score back in the first wave, 85. Not all the people on this site are lying. At least I'm not.
If you mess up on a Sim, YOU WILL NOT FAIL.
IF MORE THAN 90% OF THE TEST IS SCORED ELECTRONICALLY HOW CAN IT TAKE THEM SOOOOOOOOOOOO LONG TO PROVIDE A GRADE?
LAZINESS
Any CA candidate response is appreciated.
I am sure that the section number and date of birth that I enter are correct. Is it a normal reply which means that score is not released yet or I am checking in a wrong place?
Thanks!
Good luck to all!
Next up I want some updates / news on FAR!
Good luck to you! We will succeed!
This is my last section too. I would hate to go into weekend wondering when the score would come up...and My BEC expires in July...
If i pass, then I only have FAR left, which I am writing next month... what ya'll opinion on FAR, it is the toughest??
I am studying REG right now and it is very hard for me because I never took any classes on corporate and partnership taxation, business law, or learn about things such as agency, surety, securities laws, and other subjects that are unfamiliar. Reg feels harder for me... And all these crazy tax things to remember!? (Fazes out after 10% of AGI up to a maximum of bleah bleah bleah but at a minimum..... very tiring). What do you all think?
What can you do, people see the image of themselves that they want to see.
If someone is being obnoxious and only here to cause problems, I'll block them...just give me time to do it.
Thanks everyone...have a good evening.
Regarding the Credit Period of CPA exam sections,i.e. the 18 months, I know I have to pass all the 4 within the credit period to complete it, but what confuses me, if the FIRST section credit expires, & I passed some sections thereafter, DO ALL OF THE Sections expire with that and I have to retake all of them? OR only that specific section (the 1st) expires and I should repeat that specific section ONLY, and the credit period for other sections continue, each section with its individual credit period which I should pass other section within? Thanks in advance.
Please, correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's the rule.
Good luck everyone!
I took Reg. in Feb. 93 :)
Took BEC in March 72:(
studied 2 weeks for audit, and then...
Took AUD end of March STILL WAITING!!!!!!
I am using Becker. I found that they were great for Audit, pretty good for Reg, and fair for BEC-on BEC several topics they skimmed over, my examed focused on heavily...Oh well..i guess FAR goes back on the shelf and its back to BEC again. :(
Jeff, Is it possible you were off on the release scores for NY- I keep checking every 5 minuets!
Thanks for your site! It's great!!!
I am also in WA State and still have not received my REG score...so you are definitely not alone. I have not heard of anyone in WA getting their REG score (let alone their AUD score) yet.
It appears that Washington will be one of the last to report, unfortunately, for us. Please all Washingtonians, when / if you receive a score, please post that you did...so that we know that maybe, just maybe, we should be checking our CastleWorldwide account. Thanks!
Sleep tight...maybe there will be good scores in the morning (like Christmas presents)...that show up miraculously in the middle of the night. :)
would we be able to see CO audit score on NASBA today or tomorrow?
Thanks
can I expect audit score from CO today...
Thanks
can't believe it! Congrats anyway!!!
Any word on why the smaller release for AUD so far? When the rest is coming. Thanks for any info.
Also....
I know this question has been asked a million times but I never could find an answer....Will AICPA & NASBA release scores over the weekend or will they wait until Monday?
CA is not a NASBA state as the AICPA releases directly to the state and the State Board posts directly from their own website. This is why CA releases score before any other state.
On Deck: IL!!!
91!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love the site. Are we still on schedule for a NASBA release tonight, 8-12? If not, has NASBA ever released scores over the weekend?
Thanks
I will buy Jeff a coffee/beer to celebrate later on today!
Praying for AUD tonight...good luck to all!
I totally thought I failed REG.
All you WA people, REG scores are out! YEAH!!!!!!!!
now that fraking me out
Thanks for working to get the site back up... we've missed you!
Question of the day... did AICPA release FAR yet?
Did you mean NASBA email you and let you know that you can check your scores online?
This comment plugin is cool, but I'm still learning how to adjust it...so far it takes you to the first post and you have to click the last page. It loads A LOT faster though because it's java based. Someone asked for user profiles...now you have it...it has a lot of stuff...you can tell it to e-mail you any new comments from a post...I'm not sure you want that much e-mail though.
I am sooooo happy this site is back up!
Looking for the button to "Buy a beer for Jeff's IT guy"
Looking...
Looking...
The IT guy deserves a nice, tall, cold one, doesn't he, folks?
FYI - REG was released in NJ on 6/18/09.
You are killing us bring the site down!
I can't wait to experience the efficiency of government-provided health care.
I wish you all luck in your patience and composure in receiving your passing scores.
STILL NO OHIO AUDIT
Thanks!
Me too. Nice job Castle. You would not make it through the weekend without my score.
My IT dude AND his server company people spent all day restoring this thing. They couldn't even get into it for several hours because people were on the site's main page that said "sorry - the site is down" and hitting F5 non-stop LOL...
Despite the IT frustration - I'm thankful for everyone who reads my site.
(feel free to contribute to the site expenses if you want...no obligation of course)...
Here's to AUD coming out tonight...
2 down 2 to go for me ...
And thanks for the sanity lifeline you've given all of us.
I passed all 4 parts on the first sitting. It's still sinking in. Well, since I don't have to pay a re-registration fee, why not use the money to buy you and your IT guy a few beers!
And now cant get into the site coz of "cookies"!!!
Frustrating...is an understatement!
I had taken audit from CO on 04/13 but i am still not able to see my scores on NASBA...have they been released or not....
Thanks
was your answer to my question.
Thanks
Lisa...8pm central I believe.
